I had very bad experience at Lalit NEW Delhi on my recent stay from 13-17th April. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as there attitude towards their clients sucks and specially business people should avoid this place as they don’t value time at all.
I list the sequence of events.
1.13th April checked n quite smoothly no issues there.
2. There was issue with service form day 1, had to call 2 to 3 times for ironing board and iron and also water, Each time at breakfast time at coffee shop there would be a queue of 25 to 45 people, like people waiting for a bus to get a table that would take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes as very limited tables and chairs are around.
3. On 16th I had accidently put on donot disturb switch ON, so the room was not at all cleaned, I Came back at 8.00 in the night and was very tired, I was roaming around all over old delhi in formals and it was very very hot, I had to go out again at 8.30 for another meeting, I called up housekeeping to make my room, I called atleast 8 times from 8.00 to 8.24 and finally someone came in, I wanted to talk to duty manager and tried again 12 times but there was no answer on Emergency button as well as no one was answering my calls, I called 317 the duty manager 3 times but no one was picking up the phone. Finally after around 23 tries in all I just gave up and met my clients in the lobby after a 20 minute delay, as I was getting delayed the housekeeping guys did not keep water nor cleaned the room.
4. When I came back around 11.00 I explained all this to the person manning the reception and I asked him to get me connected to the duty manager, he said he was busy and I was told to wait, I was kept waiting a good 12 minutes no one came, I then left for my room and and finally the duty manager called me up at 11.30, I told him I was worried as no one was picking up my phone in any of the departments and I told him I was hesitant to call even for water or another service, he sent me water bottles and said that he would see that my stay was comfortable.
5. Now on my last day that is 17th April, I wanted to have tea I told 5 different waiters to get me tae and the tae dint come finally I told the incharge at the coffee shop he sent me coffee instead of time, I just left the table without having any breakfast,
6. INTERNET IS PRICED AT Rs 300 for one hour which is too expensive even by Europeon standards.
7. Now I need to check out at around 10.30 called up concierge twice waited for 20 minutes no one came, I had to lug 3 cases myself as I could not wait till eternity.
Absolutely pathetic and poor service, it spoiled my entire stay I was feeling bad, had left hungry, I don’t get this kind of a service even in 2 star Rajesh Motwani.
Mumbai.
