Great ambience and good atmosphere.

The people are very friendly,
Had a great time, when I go back to iceland i’m def going back there for a few nights.
+ I forgot my vest and glasses and they sent me everything by mail.

Okay, the definition is perfection. The reception was simply awesome and the staff are always caring for the guests, polite and solicitous. But even more important: they are friendly in the true sense of the word, in that they will actually befriend you, maybe go out on parties, not just the ones that the hostel makes available. Whenever I return to Reykjavik, I’ll certainly stay at the Loft.

I really enjoyed my stay at Loft Hostel. It was friendly, clean, cosy with great amenities and with a walking distance to main city attractions. Cant wait to come back.

The heart of Reykjavik Great People great life line. Walk to the Harbor. 10 Minute walk to the towering Cathedral. Great Place for a eco — Tourist.

Just went to visit a friend of mine and spent some time in the kitchen and living room. Both spaces were clean and cozy. Staff was very friendly.

Stayed there 2 nights. Location is just perfect, in the middle of commercial area. Near bus stop 3 and 6. Level 2 and 3 are for the dorms while level 4 is for the reception an everything else. They serve breakfast in the morning for 1350 ISK. It is ok… no variety day after day and not so many choices. Rooms are good with shower separated from the toilet. Paint show be refreshed as there are many dents and marks on the walls (even blood! ). Would recommend anyway as the price was good and it offers a pretty good base to start and end your days.

We stayed there for 2 nights and had a private room! If you're looking for a good experience, this hostel will provide you that. The kitchen and bathroom could be improved but we were mainly there to connect with others.

Be prepared not to get any sleep. The rooms are uncomfortable hot and the bars around rage throughout the night. They will also nickel and dime you. $5 for towels. $10 for locks. The luggage storage is also unsecured with anyone being allowed access.

It was a fantastic place to stay at. There were outlets built into the bed, more on the wall, some shelves to lay your stuff in, and bathroom in the room. No walking to the communal bathroom. And the kitchen is great too bc there a bunch of free food for grabs that was left behind that is marked for anyone's use. I stayed in the 6 person bedroom for one night and I wish I chose this hotel as my only one. It is affordable, had some budget savers like the free food, constantly around charging points, and in the city.

Central location in Reykjavik! Welcome home. Since this is a hostel, priority is given to the dormitories, which overlook the main street, while the double rooms are oriented towards a fire escape. Otherwise, all the amenities in the room except for the shower products, absent. Breakfast type youth hostel at €13. Possibility to eat on the beautiful terrace.

Every staff member here I encountered what very friendly and helpful. I got to the hostel at 6am (way before check in) and the front desk staff member allowed me to hang out in reception (but emphasized NO SLEEPING). I had a 6 bedroom female dorm with a shared bath inside the room. I liked that the shower room was separated from the toilet room. My only complaint about the room is they are HOT! Not a good nights sleep! Not much air ventilation either. The beds and sheets are comfortable. I did not try the breakfast so I cannot comment. Hostel activities seemed to be popular here. Affordable happy hour.

Front desk was extremely helpful. Rooms were clean. Couldnt have asked for anything more.

I had an amazing time at loft over Xmas 2018. The staff made me feel so at home, including my own guardian angel who always greeted me each day with a smile and helped me navigate my solo explorations round the amazing country. Definitely will return! Looking forward to hearing the progress of my Tree that Meathook was kind enough to leave me as an xmas gift!

This place is perfect in everyway! Extremely clean, friendly, center of the city, walk almost everywhere, absolutely awesome. You will love it!

Clean and well maintained but to be honest nothing to write home about, has won lots of awards for best hostel. Have stayed at many no better no worse location is excellent though right in the centre of town. Has a good roof top balcony which on a clear night the northern lights are visible.

Centrally located and convenient. Staff was very helpful, answered questions and made suggestions. The lounge upstairs is warm and vibrant. My only complaint: from my dorm room I could hear bass from a neighboring bar/restaurant. Overall, would definitely recommend.

I had a chance to spend an entire week at this hostel, and every moment was wonderful. The rooms and facilities are really clean, there were really cool activities like karaoke and water coloring in the common room, the staff were really friendly and there was even a fully set-up self-catering kitchen to use. The location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of the Reykjavik city center. I would certainly recommend this hostel to others!

The Reykjavik Loft HI Hostel was outstanding. It's in the heart of the city, and has beautiful accommodations and amenities. The staff and all other patrons were friendly, the rooms were secure and clean, and the location can't be beat. Would recommend.

Awesome location, except for the club right next door that played loud music with extremely heavy bass from 10pm to 5am on a Friday night. Earplugs work well for the noise but not the bass, it was literally vibrating the beds. The kitchen was okay and the room was pretty clean. I would not stay here again or recommend to a friend.

Nice hostel with a great location in town. Near many restaurants and bars. Can be loud at night if staying on the weekend but the hostel does have free ear plugs. Great rooftop bar with a nice view as well.

Super cool spot right in the heart of the downtown scene. The loft was really neat although I wasn't there long. Private room with a bathroom and shower, linens and towels all included.

This hostel is the best! I came here in January and stayed for 7 nights. My room was clean and cozy. The only downside, which really didn't bother me is that someone had accidentally flooded part of the room by leaving the shower on or something and it smelled kind of damp in there. The only reason I mention this is to point out how nice and accommodating the staff are when something goes sideways. I was given breakfast tickets to make up for it and offered another room if I wanted. The breakfast was delicious and I slept like a log. Some people complain about the noise. I always wore ear plugs so if there was any disturbance it did not wake me. The common space is really pleasant and I enjoyed coming back to read and have a cider from the bar after hiking all day. It When I come back to Iceland I will be staying here for sure!

Loved this place. A bit pricey, but the rooms were clean and spacious, the kitchen had everything I needed with a nice view of the Prime Minister's office and the ocean. Lots of cool activities at night.

Fun atmosphere, helpful staff, and perfect location! 100% recommend that you stay or even just to go have a rooftop coffee or beer here.

Amazing location and super friendly and helpful staff. Kitchen and facilities were great — there is everything you need to self cater. I stayed on a Friday and Saturday night so it can be very very hard to sleep with the amount of music and noise coming from the street. But apart from that, you can't fault this place!

The Loft Hostel is positioned right in the centre of Reykjavik. Although this can mean a little extra noise from the streets, you are so close to everything in the city. The rooms appear to be cleaned most days so everything is in good condition. The doors are protected by a key card, so only authorised people can gain access. There is a kitchen on the top floor near the reception which can be a bit of a mess, but is still tidier than most student accommodation. If you arrive before the earliest check-in time (2PM, check out is 10AM), then there is a storage area where luggage can be left. There is a balcony on the top floor which would be the perfect place to see the northern lights if you are fortunate enough to see it. The only downside was that the hostel had a live music event most nights. This is good for some people, but not when you have to get up early in the morning. This is only the second hostel I have stayed in, but it is the best of the two.

The reason why I love Loft as a venue are the following facts: the staff is friendly and creative, the place is environmentally friendly and the bar is accessible to people with physical disabilities. Just like all bars ought to be :)

Excellent service, very good place to stay.

The common floor/bar was cosy and the staff very nice but the room we slept in wasn't much. Carpet smelled bad, mattresses had stains & other people's hair on them, bathroom was pretty worn out with stained shower curtain. Guests need to make the beds by themselves — and the bedsheets provided are too small for the beds. Good location but comes with the minus that you have to listen to the bar/street noice from outside which lasted until 6 am on Friday. Ear plugs weren't enough to block it. One can find better place to stay with this money.

Located on the first floor of the building offers a nice view of the city. Popular with young people, especially offers drinks and a few choices as far as food goes.
The Interior is very cozy and seems to feel almost at home.
I didn't sleep in the hostel but only consumed at the bar.

Great hostel, right in the middle of all the action and night life. The facilities are great and there's an awesome common area and terrace where you can have a few beers, and if on a lucky night, catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis. Excellent friendly staff too.

This is a great hostel. It's clean, reasonably priced, centrally located, and offers live music on weekends. I'd stay again.

Lovely and cozy hostel, clean rooms, very, very friendly and helpful staff. It's a great location to have a drink or a coffee, not only indoors in the awesome loft atmosphere but also outside on the epic rooftop terrace. This terrace is without a doubt my favourite spot in Reykjavík. Looking forward to come back soon!

Loved it — central location, friendly staff, clean rooms, terrasse with a view of the town, great atmosphere.

My brother and I stayed there during a short break last year. We were lucky enough to take part in their Opening Party with really good local bands like FM Belfast (múm vocalist) and a band of one of the receptionists. The atmosphere is fantastic. The service, staff, facilities, breakfast is impeccable! Would go back in a heartbeat.
