Galaxy Pod Hostel Hostel

Wonderful hostel, most unusual accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. Perfect base camp to explore the city or hop on the tour buses. Pods are very well kept, clean and staff very helpful. The lounge is super chilled, found myself coming back here to chill after an energetic day instead of the city bars. Highly recommended, cheers guys! I’ll be back! ❄️

I spent four nights at Galaxy and had a great stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was clean. The pods are nice. They lock and feel secure. The beds are comfortable and the USB chargers and small safe were a bonus. Having a dark, quiet space helped with jet lag and the super early Iceland sunrise (in August). The location is out of the hub of action but everything is walkable and there is a bus stop very close. I would definitely stay again. Great value.

That was our first time to stay at a hostel.
The location is amazing, close to the center by walk.
The hostel is very clean, quite but you can hear everything, it was annoying.
We booked a double bed pod for one night before the ring road trip. The pod was big enough for two people. Very clean, comfortable bed and pillow, the only problem was the air conditioner (noisy and it was hooooot). The light was futuristic.
Toilets and bathroom was clean (with shampoo, shower gel). The kitchen is well equipped.
Living room area big, clean, comfortable sofas and from here the sunrise view is great.
Staff speaks English, friendly and helpful.

I love staying in the pod, roomy and pretty quiet.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! The pods were so cool and comfy and so was the loungearea. You have your own locker outside the pod and a safe inside your pod. The kitchen has everything you need and the bathroom vas nice as well. Everything was perfectly clean. Location is good. You have Kronan supermarked 3 minutes down the street and it is a 10 minute walk to the city attractions. Staff was cool and helpful. Would highly recommend this place.

Awesome, comfortable, safe, clean, private, friendly, and great idea of having a mini room. I will see if there are other Galaxy Pod Hostels in Europe.

Not a great atmosphere for a hostel, everyone was quiet even watching the world cup games. Pods are comfortable, but my TV had some issues. Secure lockers have lots of useful space. Showers have a strong sulphur smell, much more so than other places I stayed in Reykjavik and Iceland.

Good concept, but overall I wasn't overly impressed. They were super nice about arranging after hours check in. I was a little confused about the parking situation. The beds were comfortable enough. The airflow in the pod could be improved. The bathroom was separate and ok considering it is a hostel.

Except that the service was good and the environment was clear. I recommend that its your best choice.

Great place with friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms and kitchen are large enough for everyone and always kept tidy. The view from the living room is absolutely stunning, and pods are super comfy and modern. Also, close to the city centre. Definitely recommend and next time I'm in Reykjavik, I will certainly stay there again!

Stayed here during an overnight layover from Canada. The hostel itself is interesting, aimed at younger travellers. They have a games room and are pushing the VR experience. The beds were comfy enough, but the pods are a bit too warm. There is air-con in the pod, but is loud and not overly effective. There are also TVs in the pods with a wide range of choice in films and TV shows. The remote controls need to be used quite close to the TV. Hostel is located within a short walk from downtown Reykjavik, and is opposite a grocery store.

Pretty nice hostel located in the far end of the strip in Reykjavik. The beds are at up nice and they are comfortable. The staff is friendly and there is a grocery store right across the street. This hostel is relatively clean as well. The main difference is the distance from the downtown Reykjavik activities and life.

Amazing place! I recomand it by all points of view. Clean, very spacios. Close to center. You just cross the street and you hve a supermarket. You have also slippers there. Shampoo and hair conditioner. A very nice lounge. Kitchen. Separate room for movies also. But at least everything it s really cool.

My partner and I made the mistake of booking one pod when we were trying to book a bed for both of us to stay in under a non-refundable reservation. The customer service rep who we communicated with was extremely friendly, understanding, and prompt in getting back to us/answering our questions. They allowed us to cancel our reservation and did not charge us a service fee, as well as did not run our card for any of the booked cost. I was definitely impressed by the level of kind service we got, and will definitely plan staying at Galaxy Pod Hostel when we are back in Reykjavik with more planning.

I stayed here for more than a week and this hostel is definitely suitable for a longer stay. The staff is friendly, helpful and all rooms were kept clean by a full time employee!
The communal kitchen is well equipped and has a large fridge with enough space for everyone. Important, a large supermarket is only 80 meters away!
In the evening you can relax in the lounge for a coffee or cocktail and share great experiences and recommendations with others.
The Pods are spacious an…d comfortable. If it's noisy (unusual), I just used earplugs! which gives for free. Conclusion: A very good hostel experience with an interstellar flair. I would come again.

So, this is a very mixed review and hopefully not a regular occurrence. I enjoyed my stay. The facility was clean, comfortable, and the pods were fantastic. However, everything I left in my LOCKED locker was stolen. I was staying for two nights, and during my day in between, I took my backpack with me, but left some things in my locker. When I returned later in the day, my locker was empty. I was shocked but thought maybe I had decided to put the things in my car after all. This was not the case and staff was not helpful — probably because there was nothing they could do because the items were stolen. I might stay again, but would not leave anything in the locked locker even when staying multiple days.

Very cool concept! From the states and have only heard about these places. Was pleasantly surprised.

Star trek-like sleeping pods in Cool hostel with hotel creature comforts (like hair dryer, privacy). Great staff. Some guests can be quite messy and inconsiderate (left dishes for others to wash, stole my lunch). …

An incredible place to stay in Reykjavik. This is more than just a place to stay, it feels like home. The hostel provides free popcorn and movie nights and staff are super friendly. The pods are what make this hostel so unique, try it and enjoy the experience for yourself.

I had a great experience staying there. The price is great, the location is walkable from the city center, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Furthermore the pods offer more convenience and security than any other hostel I have ever visited in the past. Highly recommended!

Really cool hostel. Sleeping in one of the pods was an interesting experience. Bathrooms and showers were clean. There is a vey well equipped kitchen with pots and utensils, and a fridge. Staff were helpful and were always there for us and our enquiries.

Great value. Wish it was a tad closer to the city center. Just out of walking distant imo. Lounge had a nice crowd. They had both mixed and female only rooms with between 8 to 10 pods a room. Only complaint about pod is control panel had a blue light you couldnt dim. If your claustrophobic this is a hard pass. Good amount of free parking.

One of the most unique hostels I have stayed in. They have galaxy pods are amazing to sleep in. They have shelves for your stuff and a plug to charge things, a light for reading, a thick shade to pull down so you have full control of the environment in the pod. A lot of pods have fans and TVs as well. I is so cozy for sleeping that I want one in my house at home. The pod just makes you feel so safe and secure. On top of that the hostel has a nice kitchen and lockers for your things. The bathrooms are large and clean. The keys are electronic which is way better and more secure than normal metal keys. It is also in a good part of the city with easy walking access to everything.

TV didn't have any channels. Otherwise, everything else worked perfectly and the space was really cool. Excellent first experience. Would capsule pod again.

Ever since I first heard of pod hostles, I wanted to try it out, and it was far more comfortable than I had expected. Each one is equiped with a phone charger, reading light, and air conditioning. Shared washroom, showers, and kitchen. Limited storage space for large luggage or backpack, but they do have small lockers for shoes, purses, etc.

The Hostel is really Nice. Friendly people and the Capsule beds are very special. Everthing was clean and tidy. Overall wenn had a good night at the hostel.

Friendly staff, very clean hostel, clean bathrooms with enough privacy. The pod beds are comfortable. It's not a youth party hostel, but the vibe is really chill and the bar has fairly priced drinks. And breakfast for around 10 euro with fresh waffles!

I stayed here 2 nights. Very clean and modern hostel for a very low price for the area. Staff is friendly. The pods are futuristic and offer great privacy, but the regular forms are good too. The lockers are convenient and easy to use. I would definitely stay here again.

I LOVE this hostel! it feels like you're in a space ship shooting out of this world. Just what I was looking for. I love the privacy it offered because every pod is your own little space. There is a shutter you can close to block light or noise from others coming in late at night. The location is 20 mins walk from all the restaurants but its all down in one street.

Kitchen was nice, lobby/common area is great. However, the pod was smelly and small. Also the backlighting of the switches inside the pod cannot be turned off so if you like to sleep in the dark these are not ideal.

It's a very special experience. Whish all hostels were like this. Also, fantastic people from around the world made this stay a blast.

This was a really clean hostel. Besides a drunk who kept forgetting his room key at 3 in the morning, talking on his phone and waking everyone up. I thought it was a great place. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Large clean showers.

Super great! the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. The pods are amazing and everything is kept very tidy and clean. I love pod hostels; you get the best of both worlds lots of company and interesting people when you want or you can retreat to your pod and have some privacy. Love it.

Great hostel with fantastic private "pods" as beds, you have your own small room effectively, with power sockets, lights, secure storage and a blind for privacy. The hostel has parking and is a 15 minute walk to the centre of town.
