Really nice Viking style hotel in calm area. Best place if you want to start trip to volcano, golden circle or waterfalls.

Nice food and great interior, good to try the daily menu for starter and main course, both are tasty.

Friendly and courteous staff, very polite and great service.

Yes most definitely, it's my second stay in this hotel. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Traditional breakfast with fresh Salmon. 30mins bus ride into Reykjavik, 3mins walk to bustaion. The hotel is as close as they can be to the Viking lifestyle. Staff wore once again to Viking style clothing all the time. The great hall the restaurant & bar is amazing. Food is 100% fantastic, & they have viking minstralls playing as you are eating. For me it's the best experience you will ever have.

Lots of character in this charming Hotel. The staff is the BEST, super helpful, super accommodating and super friendly. Didn't get to see this small town / harbor, as our time is limited. Just 10 minutes outside of Reykjavik. High rating, for this place. By the way, the food was the best I have had in our 3 weeks in Nordic Countries. Yummy!

When we finely arrived at the hotel (due to flight delays and missed basically all of our first day here! ) the place looks really quaint and different! staff friendly and helpful! Just been a long day… looking forward to seeing more tomorrow! had good food in the restaurant too! very yummy.

honestly im not expecting posting this but after what I saw I just cant.
So I took surf and turf meat + lobster … meat = yes I cant find a lobster when we was on da way to pay we ask and they say ohh ok sorry we cant do a discount because of our new chef forgot to put lobsters on a dish so we gonna give you it in take away… so gave a huge aluminium ball I thought ok may be they have a circle tske away boxes… when we open the ball…

Really liked the place but let down by the food and one of my pet hates when they fetch you your main course before you finish your starter. We had 6 days in Iceland and we think this was the worst meal and not just because of what food we chose my wife had spaghetti and garlic bread as a mains.

The grounds are definitely a beauty. It has even a fish pond filled with lovely golden fishes and a few mysterious ones that look most prehistoric. The buildings resembled old Viking villages and the ambiance was most mystifying. I did not personally stayed in the hotel, but I give it 5 stars nonetheless for its outside decor which brought a smile to my face.

A nice, Viking theme replicated building, located right on the waterfront trail, south of Reykjavik. Our stay experience was pretty good. Clean rooms, good restaurant and bar and they provided pretty acceptable breakfast. It's been a bit pricy but in Icelandic norm… Pretty affordable… I would come back if I'm in the area again.

Very small room. Tiny bathroom as well. However it was clean. In general OK for the price you pay. I gave 4 stars only for professional stuff and good service. The lady on reception helped to book a blue lagoon. If not her, we wouldn't be able to get there. Good breakfast, esp. The cod liver spread. Good restaurant to dine.

Beautifully designed Viking-style hotel. You can feel comfortable here. But if you want great comfort, you should choose something different.

Stayed here for the atmosphere and very much enjoyed it. The staff were all great, and the rooms comfortable. The breakfast was very good and I went to the connected restaurant for dinner twice. A lot of fun; great people working here made all the difference.

It's a cute hotel with old Viking detailing. Our room was small and the hot needed a good clean. The receptionist was helpful in directing us to a place to eat and accommodating an early check-in. If you need a place to stay before your flight out the following morning, this place is decent. It was a 30 minute drive to the airport.

Viking Village is my favourite Viking pub and hotel in Iceland. I frequently travel home to see family and friends and more often than not, I stay at Hotel Viking. It is so much more than just a hotel — it is a piece of art! The craftmanship of every detail within the buildings is absolutely stunning and the staff is wonderful. The place has a family feel and fantastic creativity ozes from every corner. I cannot recommend this hotel, pub and restaurant highly enough. Its my home away from home.

Very well themed and tidy hotel. Rooms were quite small, but was only there for one night so wasn't too bad. Fjörukráin restaurant had nice food and is very close to the hotel.

Location is good, as the airport transfer to KEF is just across the street. The decor of the hotel was pretty nice too. But there wasn't a 24hour help desk when we needed help.

Terrible, I would give no stars if it were an option. We were originally pleasantly pleased with the hotel as the cottage was unique. However one day, the hot water didn't flow and taking a cold shower in the Iceland winter is impossible. It took awhile for the staff to fix our problem. Worst of all, the beds were infested with bed bugs. We went home with terrible itchiness and scratching.

The breakfast (included) at this hotel was an amazing smorgasbord with salmon, toast, crispbread, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, salad, and many condiments. The hotel is themed and somewhat touristy, but not in a bad way. The room was large, comfortable and clean with a roomy bathtub. The staff were pleasant and accommodated us when we decided to stay an extra night. We really liked Hafnarfjörður due to its quaint and genuine feel. There were lots of shops, restaurants and cafés within walking distance and a bus stop going both to Reykjavik and the airport at Keflavik. The nearby Hellisgerði park was delightful as was the Hafnarborg Centre of Culture and Fine Art, both free activities.

We got stuck during a storm in Reykjavik and most rooms were booked. We found the Viking Hotel. The one sort of good thing was the hot pot in the back. It was a small room with NO SOAP. Have you ever heard of a hotel room that does not provide soap? We paid about $300 for this room. We checked in at 9pm and left by 5am. It was pretty tacky but I kind of liked it. Think viking medieval times restauraunt and add a hotel and that is the Viking hotel. I would suggest anywhere else than this hotel mostly because they thought we were crazy when we asked for soap. They said we have no soap. A room about 10x10 feet for 300 dollars and no soap. … no thank you.

The Hotel is very good. It has parking (very grateful for those who rented car). I stayed during my holiday and was very happy. I had No problem addressing them in a different language than the native. The port and the bus station are very close so it is very well connected. I don't give it five stars because housekeeping would have to get better. For the rest, very satisfied.

The hotel was very well decorated and the price was right for Iceland.
I was with my partner and we got one of the bungalows that have outside in the shape of Viking homes. The interior was all right and very cool, it was a bungalow for 6 people with 4 beds in bunk-bed format below and a wooden staircase that climbed to the top where there were 2 more beds.
The right sink, the shower with hot water had that sulfur smell that you find in most of the tour around the island.
The Dedayuno complete but not the best.

Great menu, nice people and the food is just perfect. Took the Viking menu just to try it but the starter was only to taste shark and nothing more, that means 2 small bits and you was done with the starter.

I had the Viking Dinner set menu which was very good! The shark may have been a little small but it was nicely washed down with the 'black death' shot. Overall a very good meal!

Good accommodation friendly staff and service, the room for breakfast is very interesting with lots of objects and artifacts on display referring to viking history and Icelandic history and culture.

Rooms are not that small. Fine actually beds aren't great but cleaning is good as is breakfast. While we are here the Wi-Fi is really bad. Wouldn't be a problem if there was good 3/4g cell coverage but that's really bad too so leaves you stuck if you need to plan stuff. Also noise insulation is really bad, had to knock on next doors door cause they were having a lot of fun and sharing it with the entire floor.

A very good hotel we had a lot of fun room something small but all around a successful thing.

We had a nice stay and their were many beds in a fun setup with a lot. Really cool setup with Viking rune covered art and repicka types.

This is a pretty cool hotel, especially if you are a visitor to Iceland. I've stayed here a couple of times. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are fairly small, but clean and tidy. The hotel itself is quite unique and historic with a definite Viking theme. There is a Viking "cave" at the back of the dining room that has to be seen. Right next door is a Viking themed restaurant that I believe is owned by the same people. For an all round Viking experience, stay at the hotel and eat in the restaurant.

Nice, quaint hotel. Very small rooms and basic and like Iceland very expensive. Staff friendly and helpful and breakfast Very Basic.

The rooms are too small and need renovation. Some bathrooms are not tiled, but have linoleum instead. Cozy is definitely different. Fire safety needs improvement. The owners are arrogant and not helpful at all. If the dinner is part of your package, you will eat in a dark hall with the atmosphere of a waiting room of a railway station.

Randomly taking a bus connection through Fjordur, as one does, I noticed the bus wasn't running to my schedule at all on a Sunday, so rocked up here to ask for a beer and some shelter. Both were provided; the beer being every bit as cheap and delicious as one would expect in Iceland!

Great hotel, great staff, good food! All around brilliant experience. I would stay here again.

It is a theme hotel I've only spent one night there, but I had a good experience and I liked the design of the building. The entry is also interesting, with some estatuetas Vikings in stone. The breakfast is avarage nothing special, typical of a continental breakfast. It is a hotel with good relation quality-price.

Cool place to stay with a viking-style restaurant and a singing viking.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. We don't used the offer to try the aligned restaurant opposite the hotel because we were going to another one. Due to that we were 3 person we got a cottage which was small but absolutely nice and enough for one night. The only thing was, that the Wi-Fi was very very weak and slow there. I assume there were too much other guests online, because it was nearly not possible to open a normal Google search. After our round-trip we planned to stay as well here for our last 3 days in Iceland but the hotel is already full.

Small rooms but nice atmosphere.

I am afraid that you pay for the surroundings, not the food. I paid nearly £50 for an almost non existent starter of shark and smoked fish, a mediocre lamb shank, a very nice desert and a small glass of orange. One to miss unless you are easily pleased with the faux Viking surroundings.

Cool hotel, I thought the rooms would be a bit less plain though. Breakfast was reasonable and reception staff member was fantastically helpful.

Loved everything about the place staff were especially fab.

Good place to stay just out side the harbour with view of sea and the city. Unique in its own kind with lots of info over vikings and Icelandic history.

Food was expensive for the quality. Heard there were people who came, sang and played music while you ate; but we heard nothing but Taylor Swift on the radio from the kitchen which was right behind my seat. I would not come here again. Good place if you're easily entertained by the novelty of mock Viking paraphernalia.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. The Vikingerrestaurant is very stylish and also the very successful menu. Breakfast buffet majority after Icelandic flavor.

Phenomenal. Truly one of the greatest places I have ever stayed. The staff are wonderful, the theme truly shines through in everything there, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you never want to leave. Loved it, don't think twice.

Do not go if there is local sabbath day there will be prices 20%more and they tell that to you when you alrdy ordered your food.

The food was quite good, I liked the vikings who came and played songs as we ate. The rooms were cosy and were of great quality. Great hotel.

The food was poor to mediocre. The price was high considering the quality. The service was ok. Generally I felt ripped off when I left.
