I had the perfect afternoon at the farm, riding a lovely and fast mare in beautifull landscapes, talking with two icelandic guides and farmers, sharing stories around a delicious homemade blueberries cakes… It was actually hard to leave and I’m really gratefull for this simple, authentic and warm moment. I can only recommand you to go without any hesitation!

We went on a trip this past week at Skorrahestar and LOVED it. We booked the day before after doing some online research. We didn't want to book at one near the capital because we wanted a more authentic less touristy trip. Two of us are very experienced riders whereas our husband & fiance had never ridden before. Our guide Suuna Julia paired us each with a horse to match our experience and we headed out on our ride. They were able to accommodate us with longer ride than we had booked. Our horses and guides were awesome and we did lots of tolting. Shana and I the two experienced riders were able to do some galloping at the end of the ride. We all had a blast and even the guy who had never ridden had a blast. They even said they enjoyed the horseback ride more than the ATV ride. We HIGHLY recommend this place for riding.

Have been twice, wonderful weeks of holidays spent here. A 3-day trip and multiple day rides. Always great horses, spectacular scenery, and cheerful society. And not to forget the Icelandic hospitality and cuisine!

We enjoyed a 1 hour ride with the two lovely instructors Sunna and Caterina and their amazing horses. Sunna gave great explanations on the area, and the wonderful horses and answered all our questions about Iceland. Highly recommended!

We went horseback riding and it was an excellent time! 2 adults 2 teens and a 6 year old. We all had a blast!

Not only located in one of the most beautiful fjords of Iceland, but with wonderful guide and lovely horses, also for beginners. Probably our best Iceland experience.

Had such a delightful ride with Skorrahestar. The scenery is beautiful. The horses were great. Those who chose were able to ride out further and canter a bit and then we did some wild berry picking in the mountains. The guide and his family were so charming and welcoming. We stayed for icelandic pancakes and homemade jam. Such a wonderful experience here!

Our horse tour here was one of our favorite stops as we traveled around Iceland. The family that runs it was exceptionally kind and welcoming. We had just showed up last minute and they let us jump into a tour. As inexperienced riders, the horses were very well trained and the staff helped us through every step. Halfway through the ride the owner even takes time to stop and teach everyone how to better handle their horses by doing a fun little group dance while riding. Afterwards they let us meet their rabbits, lambs, and puppy. They even reimbursed one rider for their whole tour since they had a few struggles with their horse. Just a great experience overall in a beautiful landscape.

The most fabulous part of our trip to Iceland! Gorgeous landscapes, a beautiful, clean, and aesthetically pleasing guesthouse, as well as a personable, charming, and kind family taking care of you. They are so congenial, entertaining, and accommodating, with attention to detail, that they treat you like family! The food was fantastic! You will be so comfortable and in awe of the beauty around you. They make sure you have a compatible horse, so that for a novice rider, you are able to ride and even gallop with ease through an incredible array of terrains that will take your breath away! Hiking was absolutely amazing with waterfalls everywhere! Thea, Doddi (who is very entertaining and will have you laughing), Sunna, Soley, and Jona are such a lovely family! My sincere appreciation and gratitude to them all for a truly remarkable experience!

The absolute highlight of my trip. The ride and horses were amazing and the family welcomed us in as a true family member. This is a must get experience if you are in the area between the gorgeous horses, knowledgeable guide, and homemade Icelandic cakes after the ride! Cannot recommend this enough.

Staying here was unexpectedly lovely. We were on our way south and we were booked for two nights here by Hey Iceland. We had been driving more or less four hours everyday so having two nights booked here gave us a chance to slow down and relax which is exactly what we did, although we did think there was another reason that we had two nights booked here. We had lovely breakfasts chatting with Doddi, he recommended a nice hike to a waterfall (which we did the next day) and he showed us his sheep and beautiful horses. We cooked ourselves dinner and enjoyed having the whole guesthouse to ourselves. We would definitely recommend staying here. Doddi and Thea are wonderful hosts.

Very nice and authentic horseback riding tour in the magnificent nature around the farm. It is a very nice family that runs the place! No horseback riding-experience is required for the riding tours — they will guide you through it. Definitely worth a visit!

Really cool guide named Doddi led us across a river and onto a sizeable hill. Along the way we heard a ghost story and legend about a giant all the while eating blueberries. The horses are so nice. My horse was named blondie and she was just as cool as the singer.

Loved staying here. My three year old cried the morning we had to leave. Would stay here again for sure!

Just the perfect choice if you want to spend some night in the family guesthouse ang go horse riding in a truly beautiful place. I really apreciated how much passion and love they have for the icelandic horse breed.

Loved this. Doddi was so very nice and helpful. The horses were beautiful, and the ride was well worth it. Doddi punctuated the ride with fun legends and anecdotes. We didn't get to stay in the guesthouse, but we did roam around and it was very cozy with heated floorboards and cushy chairs. Will definitely spend a few nights here next time I visit Iceland!
