Very polite people, room were big and clean and it was 5 minutes away from the place we attend.

Yeah, wow. I was very surprised to see some bad reviews of this place. I stayed here in the beginning of August and thought it was one of the best hostels I've stayed in. If you want some weird sterile harsh white light environment and to be greeted by people with work t shirts and name tags then maybe stay somewhere else. But if you want a cute, cosy space where it's hard to differentiate between the guests and the staff and where they save things like shower gel people leave for others without to use then this is THE place to stay in Budapest.

I would reccomend this hostel — Quiet and with a good location, staff is also nice and really helpfull. :)

Booked to stay for a night after paying today for two of us (two girls on their mid twenties) we saw the room and the it was in TERRIBLE CONDITIO. The Guy who suppose to stay in the room has slept in all the beds and was super pervert to us. We decided to leave and the receptionist didn’t even try help us, the only help… he offered was “ I can change the sheets”. We paid 26 euros for two girls and they didn’t find another option for us, ofc they didn’t refund us so we were left in the streets at 11 pm. Extremely poor costumer service. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS OWNER! It’s not a safe environment to stay!

The place is quiet and nice. I really feel at home. The receptionist are very accomodating and convwrsant.

We walked in and booked two beds for that same night. This was during the end of August. Very clean looking and reasonable price, we paid 15€ per person. Cash only. It is super easy to get to the center of town using the metro about a block and a half away. Takes about 20 minutes to get to the center. Biggest complaint is that there is no AC or windows in the room we were staying, but for this price I was fine with it.

Not everything is in perfect condition, but mentally.

Hostel is OK but the double-rooms are a rip-off. Ours was tiny, smelled like feet, and had a window into a smoking area so we sad to inhale second hand smoke all night. Loud corridor with a light shining through. Much much better flats/rooms for the same price on AIRBNB in my experience. Wouldn't stay here again.

Hostel in an old, funky, charming building. Nice helpful staff. Interesting guests. Far walk from the town center but close to the park and most famous spa bathhouse.

Baroque Hostel is an incredible place to stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, and the location is convenient. We lived and volunteered at the hostel for 6 weeks. Being slightly out of the city centre, the traffic was reduced and the pedestrian traffic was diminished. City Park is directly across the street and offers a host of outdoor activities. Baroque Hostel was always very clean. With several kitchens, sitting rooms, and spaces to relax, you never felt too imposed upon but could mingle with other guests if you wanted to. The staff are very knowledgeable about the city and can give suggestions where to go and what to do in the city of Budapest.

Not my worst experience, not my best. Could really do with a good clean and fixing the showers.

Hostel entrance at first a little dubious. But the people were nice and the apartment rooms were amazing. Definitely worth the money and would go there again.

An interesting accommodation. An old citizen flat was modified. Ok for thos they do not need too much. Recommended for trippers, hippies or campers they are visiting the capital.

Good interior design. Low price and nice staff. Minus one star for inconvinient payment: it’s cash only, forints only, payed in advance and the staff had no change to giveback.

I stayed here for 2 nights, and its pretty good for someone who wishes to stay at a "low" price accomodation, for those who have this spirit of adventure. It was a little bit crowdy when I stayed but it's quite ok because they had 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms and several showers, also 2 living rooms, so there is plenty of space. Regarding rooms: I heard rummors about bed-bugs which I found very disgusting, but I did not have any incidents regarding bugs. There was a mild mold smell in the room. Nontheless, I had great time, sleept very well and at a great price.

Clean room, the bathroom could use a good scrubbing. Hosts were nice and helpful.

Nice clean rooms. In addition to that free coffee/tea. Hygienic toilets and showers. Also the fares are not very costly. Very close to bus stop and an ATM machine.

Would definitely come here again. Clean. Comfortable… Staff are friendly… easy access to the bus… I just loved this place.

5 minutes walk to underground station (Victory Square). Good prices, fully equipment kitchen and kindly staff. Very curious vintage interior decoration. Passing between two parts of the hostel through wardrobe is something unusual :)

The best place to stay in Budapest! You have everything near you, parks, museums, metro and bus station :D And all the people working there are simple gorgeous!

This hostel is more like a hotel — the rooms are very spacious! The layout of the hostel is very quirky and cool. The staff are so helpful and make you feel really welcome. Really good cooking utensils — this hostel provides everything you need :)

Cozy, clean place, and friendly staff. And the place has a kind of classical building style to it. Loved the "walk-in" closet.

Arriving at the place, we were left without a room, our room was busy. At night in a strange city search for a hotel is not an easy task, so if you do not want to stay homeless, then no one sovetub this hostel.

Nothing to complain. Just that I found the owner a little grumpy. Anyways place was very nice and very cheap. But a little far away from the center. Anyways very close to heroes square.

Great to stay with friends. The nightly rate is around 10 euro. But it is not very clean. And if you're going to be alone, you should choose safer places.

Close to the center, close to the bus station. Cheap for this location, all in the style of Baroque, pure.

The staff is friendly and the place is nice and cozy. You can feel that the staff is constantly improving the quality of their hostel. 24/7 reception is also a great comfort. PS: Narnia door is the best thing ever.

Worst experience. The room doesn't look like on the pictures (there are no pictures of this room btw) we expected to have a nice sunny room for 2 with a double bed (like written on the reservation bill) but it ended with two single beds on the underground floor. The receptionist told us that "a lot of people were surprised". No light, no air, old and messy… doesn't worth the 31€ we paid.

Baroque hostel is awesome! Last night here and had a great stay. Staff was incredibly outgoing and friendly/knowledgable of the area. Rooms were spacious and had very comfortable beds as well as our own latrine. Felt very at home here and would reccomend to any travelers/backpackers! If I ever return to Budapest I will most definitely stay here again!

Ok place for those who are on a budget. 40 min walking to the city center. Clean but a bit lousy…

I had my worst experience in my life here! a sociopathic was living and working there with the consense of the owner Anna. Be carefull! I was involve with the police try to receive help, also because the workers at the hostel they tryed to push me like it was my fault had trust this person Szabo David Zoltan that was working there.

Horribly loud, you can hear every door bang loudly shut, but the kitchen and showers are nice.

I had booked 2 nights in a double room, but I ran on the first morning. A tiny cell on a mezzanine above the reception and a room on the ground floor just separate partitions, giving also the dorm. No working window. A simply put mattresses on the floor. Light and noise constantly. In short, one night of hell for €48 the room without breakfast. Showers not very clean and off-center neighborhood. Cold reception. Don't go above all.
