GoodMo House Hotel

It’s a very good place. The staff is very helpful mainly Eric.

Me and my Girlfriend were stuck in Budapest without an accommodation for the night and we found the GoodMo House. The Staff, Simonetta and Erik, immediately took care of us and helped us by giving the last bed that was Free. They were really nice and understandable about our situation. Furthermore, the price is really affordable and nice for what you receive, clean rooms, perfectly fine bathrooms, comfortable beds and the athmosphere there was really cozy. 10/10 :)

After some very struggle moment with a host from Airbnb, Erik and Simi were so nice to us (with my boyfriend) finding some place to sleep. A nights in that amazing hostel and we already feel like home! Thank you for your hospitality Erik and Simi, you were great!

Rooms clean and spacious, bed comfortable and the best is a great selection of continental breakfast to fill up on.

Don't trust them! they canceled my reservation a few days after my arrival (I had booked a month before and they waited so long to tell me) pretending that they would help me find something else ("we're retrieving photos and we'll let you know" but they lied) then they disappeared! no help came from them, nor explanations. They had taken more bookings than the rooms they had and left us in the street! shameful assistance. Don’t trust them if you have any problems you will not get any help! bad, the worst of all! they suck, for real!

I understand they can’t control the weather but they could at least figure out some ventilation. It was miserable in the room all weekend and I soaked my bed in sweat. You can only imagine how many people have sweat onto the mattress. The bathrooms were ok but they didn’t seem to clean them daily so they could certainly be better. It also took me 30mins of waiting to check in. They get three stars because it was nice that they had a bar the employees were kind, and the price and location were good.

We went to this hostel and the staff was horrific, they ignored us, didn’t even try to help. The rooms were dusty en the sheets where not clean! And after a night we saw that there where BED BUGS! (on the pictures) And then they said that a exterminator would come and that the room would be clean when we came back. Well it was not I only looked at my bed and there were still bedbugs. So the next night we had to sleep on the floor… we only got a refund for that night. The next morning the managers wouldn’t talk to us anymore they even walked in and ignored us. So after we left we wrote a review and now they have commented on our review (also with the added pictures) and they are saying that we are lying this hostel is awful!

Clean, and spacious. Private room is a bit pricey. Some staff were more helpful then others.

Location is great and it's very clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. Accommodation are simple but adequate. Could use a couple of more hooks in the bathroom and a little shelf by the sink, but I would stay here again… And the price is reasonable… Forgot to mention that small Donnie breakfast is included.

A hostel with reasonably good value and a good location and only a few minutes walk to the nearest Metro station.

Room was pretty clean, bathroom not so much! €3 breakfast was really good and we walked everywhere.

A great place to stay for one night. Not fat from downtown. Stuff is very friendly. Rooms are good, but bathrooms are dirty.

Awesome atmosphere, helpful and kind people! Cheap but very high quality. Little far from most large site seeing places but if you're ok with walking/taking the metro it's perfect.

Broken shower, got water all over the place. And handwashing sink is leaking too. Slippery floor, as their tiles are not ideal for bathroom floor. Checked out the next day.

Quite decent place within budget. Staff at the reception, all three were welcoming. Good breakfast, decent beds. For a hostel, in the price range that they are — you wouldn't find another place like this. 1 star less for washrooms not bad but there is room for improvement.

This is a decent accommodation if you are on a budget. You get free Wi-Fi and complementary breakfast here. They do not have foreign exchange.

I came here for a large group orientation in August, which had booked the place for a week. Wi-fi didn't work at all in my room and even most of the lobby. Had to stick to a few specific spots in the building. Some friends of mine complained about bed bugs. No air conditioning in the room — I went to the desk and they said that the one portable air conditioner was taken by another guest. If you really need to save money and aren't looking for a lively social environment, this might be a good deal. Right next to the 4/6 tram and public transit. But there are a ton of other good hostels in Budapest.

Fatal experience. We were moved 3 times of room in 5 days, two of them in a worse room of the contracted (of 4 bunks) that after claiming 3 days to different receptionists we had to pay. We were denied to the claim sheet and the return of two nights until we threatened to call the police, at which point they agreed to both.
The room was nice and clean and the breakfast was simple. But for the deal I wouldn't repeat.

First of all I visited here on winter. Staff are very nice and kind. Rooms and toilets are cleaned every day. And hostel is placed in a central area. I can walk many touristic places in a short time like 20/25 minutes. Also it is very close (1 minute to tram) to public transport if you dont wanna walk. I would prefer this hostel if I come Budapest again. You can have breakfast with 3 euros for each day. So it is a very nice place overall.

Good value for money.

Close to the city center, about 20 minutes walking. The rooms are cleaned. Common bathrooms are cleaned enought… The staff is friendly and helpfull… good accomodation looking the price. Bar open 24h, very cheap price. Suggested for price.

Absolutely amazing! The staff are very kind and friendly and at your service 24/7. The hostel is in the center of this beautiful city. The rooms are clean and equally important, you can sleep at night :). Thank you GoodMo, you will be recommended!

Nice actual accomodations and breakfast is included but very impersonal and staff seemed new and incompetent.

A great place to stay within your budget, also present in middle of the city. I find this place pretty apt for travelers, especially students.

Very nice for a hostel. The bathrooms are not that well taken care of. Close to the subway and a supermarket. Would visit again though.

The staff are friendly and helpful. You can ask for your towel at the front desk. The rooms are clean and spacious. Its good that every bed has its own lamp and plug. They have a good cheap shuttle to airport and laundry service. Ask the front desk about it.

Arrived at 5.45pm to check in, was told to wait until the next shift started, after waiting an extraordinate amount of time as the hotel staff just sat and chatted to each other, cancelled my reservation at 6.45 and booked a hotel instead. The extra expense was worth it. I understand the staff don't like their jobs (stay here and it'll be obvious to you too), and I hate to leave such a bad review for the staff, but they really are useless and unhelpful. This was to be the 3rd time I had stayed here, and each time was worse than the last, culminating in this occasion, where they couldn't even be bothered to check me (or the other 5 guests that slowly arrived) in until it was convenient for them. No thank you. Between staying here and sleeping on the streets of the worst parts of District 8, I'd choose the latter.

I go for work before there. I see what I see! I really don't like it! I mean. People pay for the room and the stuff come inside when they sleeping or they take them rest… I feel uncomfortable when I work there. And I see how the stuff clean, so thanks for not paying my day! Its better, if you go and buy something good for cleaning with this money! The best suck place ever I see! Thanks guy's ;)

Great rooms, bathrooms and Wi-Fi. Only downside is its location which is far from the center.

Staff was a little slow, but nice. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean.

Showers could be cleaner, and a few more would have been appreiated. Good experience nonetheless, nice staff and decent hostel overall, with good breakfast.

Great value for money. Breakfast was awful! Bad coffee & only bread, cheese & meat.

Avoid this place. I just got out of there now they were bedbugs a lot of them on the beds. Bathrooms were disgusting so nasty. This place is far from the center. Its so hot in there and there is no fan on the rooms. We had to spend the night on the lobby with no sleep due to the bedbugs. Please get another hostel this is the worst.

I recommend this hostel 100%. The facilities are clean, the rooms and bed comfy and it has a nice atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and friendly. For example, David was very nice and helped us find something to eat, he was very friendly.
If you are going to Budapest, you should totally stay here!

It was a really nice place, nice accomodations and staff, good facilities and fairly close to one of the main streets. The staff was also very helpful to help us find things to do around town and places to eat, a guy named David helped us order dinner in a very attentive and nice way :)

Nice hostel if you are planning to visit Budapest, friendly and helpful staff. Definitely I'd recommend this place. The only inconvenience I have found during my stay is that the Wi-Fi doesn't work on the rooms.

The reception staff very friendly but the rooms without towels, bugs in bed, no soap or gels for a very high room price for those conditions …

On the outside it doesn't look like much, but when you come in it's something else. It has a living room with tables, foosball and bar. At the front desk they were all very nice, showing us the room when we arrived and answering our questions. As for cleaning falters a little, the bathrooms were more than one day without being cleaned.

Excellent kitchen, nice bedrooms and bathrooms, but internet works poorly. It's not expensive.

Fantastic hostel. Free towels and Wi-Fi, nice rooms, clean bathrooms, and there's a decent kitchen as well. Staff gave us great recommendations for things to do. Highly recommend.

I was there with a large group that booked the place for a week. While it's a bit hard to find at first, it is near a small square near a university district, metro and the 4/6 tram. There were convenient restaurants and the staff are very helpful. I have to particularly thank Bence, who talked with me all night when I had jet lag, and his replacement, Gary (I can't spell it in Hungarian — — the guy with the perfect UK accent and film background) helped me translate a small speech into Hungarian and it was a BIG hit with my colleagues. Breakfast was very good! There are activities each night of the week if you want. Negatives — quality of internet was very iffy (perhaps construction in and around building this summer didn't help) and some of the rooms were better than others. But downstairs one of the cafes had good internet, no problem. I think once the construction is done things will improve.

New hostel, really great.

Absolutely fantastic. Just returned from a stag do with 24 lads, place was brilliant, staff were great, big spacious rooms and a great common room. Hostel Goodmo, the building is huge and a must see for fan or architecture. Definitely recommended!

Very nice place, and a wonderful staff!

Newly opened super hostel. Very central. Even the rooms with 12 people are good to sleep in cause they are huge. Really friendly and service minded people working here. Cute too! They can help you with everything, from booking stuff to explaining about the city. They are the best. A bed in the 12 person room cost about 14 EUR, breakfast included, so you can perhaps find a cheaper in budapest but why would you when they have everything here. Big lounge with TV and three computers with Internet that you can use. Super Wi-Fi all over this huge place. Party zone with music to four o clock in the morning on a big terrass outside. Fridge in every room. Kitchen you can use freely. Free tea and coffee. You can borrow towels. Everything you'd expect!
