This was a really nice hotel. Took you back in time. The staff had a good command of English and were very helpful. The dining room was beautiful and the food was good. They also serve an excellent breakfast. We could walk to most places. We loved staying there.

Kind of worn down, but absolutely worth the price. The staff was like hotel staff should be. Polite, service minded and well dressed. They nearly whispered when they spoke. Quite delightful to stay at this hotel, which happens to be situated right by the Jewish neighborhood. Excellent location of youa are in Budapest for nightlife and restaurants.

Former grand hotel in Budapest city centre — but it now is in dire need of a renovation from the ground up. The interior and atmosphere are severely dated and there's a strong feel of delusions of grandeur of times past. It's a perfectly fine hotel that will do the job without frills, but very clear about your expectations for this one. Rooms on the avenue have large windows and are quiet enough.

The hotel is good with its location. The rooms are very basic. In the room Deluxe TV 32 ', no kettle and accordingly tea, coffee. Curtains on the windows without opaque lining.

Charming hotel in the Belle Epoque style, built 1914. The architecture has been maintained while updating plumbing, elevators, Wi-Fi, etc. Fabulous breakfast buffet in an elegant room, nice restaurant with live music. Friendly, helpful service.

I had dinner with a large group of friends. Impeccable service, nice menu. I enjoyed the international cuisine, next time I will devote more to the typical Hungarian specialities.

Great hotel located in a strategic area a few steps from the center. Very close also to the area where most of the nightclubs are concentrated.

The location of the hotel is very good for accessing transit and walkable to city center. Rooms are very historic and service traditional. Manager goes out of his way to make your stay good. Two issues I had are 1) climate control systems cannot seem to keep up. Due to road construction noise I had my window closed and even with a/c full blast it was warmer than outside 2) there is mostly only one front desk attendant thus you must always wait to get assistance.

Definitely not a 4 star. Hotel is old, badly maintained. Rooms are not clean and with an old decoration. Location is good, but one can find cheaper and nicer appartments in the area. Would NOT recommend it at all.

The hotel, whose history dates back to 1914. It may not fascinate. Moreover, this hotel became very iconic for Budapest. Even the subway station is named after him. Do you know a lot of such metro stations? Near it excellent transport interchange. The main attractions of Pest are easily reachable on foot, and, for example, the fisherman's Bastion can be reached in 15 minutes by direct bus 18, which departs from the nearby stop of Deak Ferenc. This stop is also a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and the 3 metro lines of Budapest intersect. The hotel has made a very good reconstruction at the end of the last decade. The repair is very fresh. But the old fashion traditions are preserved everywhere, especially in the halls. The reception, maids and all services work flawlessly. The hotel is very pleasant.

Budapest is really a my husband destination and from DWM Hotel you will come to the Parliament Chain Bridge citadel and roof top the location offers above-average shops and restaurants because you can never get your neck full of what there is to eat! Next time again!

Very nice hotel, friendly person and good location. The dining room is really beautiful, the breakfast balanced and tasty. The rooms and other parts of the hotel could, however, use a renovation, even in terms of cleanliness is still air upwards. Anyway recommended for a city trip, right in front of the hotel is a stop of the M3, as well as several bus and tram stops, the National museum, the Great Synagogue, the St. Stephen's Basilica are only a 5 minute walk, also all other Sights of the city are within walking distance. In the surrounding area there are many restaurants, supermarkets, etc.

A hotel inaugurated in 1914, with a very pleasant old-fashioned charm. The staff are smiling, the restaurant is excellent and cheaper than the pizzerias around! The service of the restaurant is without reproach, and you will have the surprise evening of a violinist who will come to your table, but without being insistent, play your favorite tunes. Note the practice of tipping: 300 florins (€1) for the holder of suitcase and 600 mini for the violinist.

Very noisy hotel at the crossroads of two avenues. 25 degrees in the room and no way to adjust the air conditioning.

Hotel with excellent service. Receptionist speaks German, so you feel right at home. Good room service, always friendly and courteous staff — almost 5-star level.
The rooms are well maintained, the beds comfortable. The bathroom was in need of some renovation. But clean.

One of the hotels where I have stayed in Budapest, centrally located, with very comfortable facilities and classical decor with regional tints, spacious rooms, impeccable service and very nice, with rich breakfasts, typical meals or unforgettable dinners. According to the orientation of the room, at night you can enjoy the Hungarian capital bathed in the lights of its most emblematic buildings. Do not forget to buy the very typical secret boxes and which will test your skill, try the red wine Tokaj a lot of body, paprika, porcelain dolls, palinka that goes up at once to the head if you do not measure your drinks… Oh, it's a pass. Thanks a lot.

Danubius Hotel Astoria supposed to be a 4 start hotel? I must have been in the last room that hadn't been updated than. The room was very old and small. The bathroom had a plastic shower curtain that must not have been cleaned in 3 months. There was Mildew on the ceiling and in the grout of the tiles. My wife woke up in the middle of the night on our last night to find bugs in the bathroom.

The bad thing: the pillows very old as well as the towels and the bedding, there is no alarm in the bathtub in case there is an accident, and the carpet in short.

Overrated and overpriced. You pay for the location and that is it. The hotel is okay in the lobby, but the rooms are dated. Would have given it 3 stars if it was not for the service at the hotel desk. We were there in one of the hottest weekends in Budapest, and had one bottle of water, which they charged 3 GBP for. The least you can offer as a "4 star" hotel is complimentary water! But instead of offering that nice gesture, they kept arguing that it was not that expensive and then asked me to sign up for their rewards card. No thanks!

Excellent service, everybody is helpful and smiling. Slept really well on a comfortable bed. Central location, very close to inner city restaurants and museums. Very clean and reasonably quiet for central location. The restaurant deserves a separate filling in in as its brilliant as well, with good portions, absolutely delicious and reasonably priced too.

Hotel Danubius is located in the centre of Budapest, next to the Astoria Metro station and only a 4/5-minute walk from well Váci utca, close to the historic synagogue and the many markets that tourists love. The Danubius Hotel is furnished in a style from the beginning of 900 and I have read that its salons have been used as film sets for many films since the years 50 until the present day even with Italian actors like Zingaretti (the famous Montalbano). — Comfortable and well furnished. My room, attentive and composed the service, but the best the hotel offers it with its beautiful continental breakfasts ranging from savory to sweet… from sausages to assorted cakes, from different types of milk to many teas, to different yogurts, jams, fruit, Brioches various sweets, many kinds of bread, possibility to order eggs and omelettes… and all this well of God is served in a beautiful salon with gilded stucco chandeliers and Bell'Epoque lights.

We stayed here in December 2016 and our stay was amazing! Rooms were dated, but that only added to the classic feel of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, and the hotel was a great price. Close to many attractions, a subway station, and more. A must stay for those visiting Budapest!

Bad experience. Stained carpet everywhere, dirty entrance glasses… 4 stars? Breakfast, sweet sector, with a single taste of yogurt and two of jams… take or leave. For two wipes of cards I had to ask twice and I was treated not to say. Taxi clerk who gets tipped off by taxi drivers. Run away don't go! PS: You save the reception staff.

Old world charm in the bustle of a vibrant modern city… the staff have the right blend of formal and friendly… the public areas could be the set of a period drama with polished wood, marble and glass.
Located within a minute's walk of the Astoria metro station, in sight of the Elizabeth bridge and a few minutes walk from Vaci Street shopping… food is good, location is great… would I stay here again? In a heartbeat.

The hotel is a nice location.

Avoid the Cafe for breakfast if you are a not a guest. Made to sit at a dingy table with the lights off and with no table cloth even though guest tables and the majority of the cafe was laid so lovely. When we asked to sit at one of the laid up tables we were refused even though the cafe was completely empty. Service was non existant because the waiters left this area alone whilst concentrating on the residents dining room. Wasnt offered the full breakfast option even though we asked. We were shown an around the world menu which having chose the Budapest Breakfast was evident a waiter had grabbed what he could from buffet and had no resemlance to the actual menu! Coffee was awful and orange juice so concentrated you could stand a spoon up in it! We wanted to grab the atmosphere of this cafe instead we were made to feel very uncomfortable.

Nice, central hotel! Close to the subway and walking distance to a lot of the sightseeing spots in the centre of Pest. The room was nice and clean, and the staff was friendly.

I had a great time at this hotel. Clean rooms and comfort bed's. Trafic noise is not a problem.

Had an amazing stay at this hotel, the position of the hotel was perfect for access to sights, cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and river. We booked a deluxe room with breakfast, the room was spacious and comfy with air con, traffic noise could be a problem at night if you had to sleep with the windows open, and there was plenty to choose from for breakfast which we had brought to our room at our chosen time. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Inconvenience of internet access, only gets free Wi-Fi in lobby and the room price is a little bit higher than its neighborhood which is same four stars hotel. The service is perfect! & in the room there are no slippers means you need to prepare it for yourself, location is really good, view is good.

5 nights in October 2010 and found hotel, comfortable, Central and maintained. Quite large room with powerful shower. Staff mostly friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good with a wide range. Most reasonable price for accommodation.
