This place is over the top! Never have I experienced this level of care from staff of hotel or dive shop. They meet your every need, even if you didn’t know you had the need. Must stay here and dive!

If you are coming to Roatan you MUST stay here! The staff is amazing, the diving is phenomenal and the food is fantastic! They have made some remarkable upgrades to the resort too! We will define be back!

This is our second stay at Barefoot Cay, and it just gets better and better. Staff is amazing, attentive and friendly. Diving here is gorgeous with experienced, thoughtful dive masters.

The entire staff worked hard to make sure we had a fantastic time. The marina has real charm, is clean and quiet with a lovely pool and great restaurant. Snorkelling right off the Cay and a dive shop on site… This is a happy place.

Amazing dive staff. I got my Rescue Diver certification here and hands down, Ron Reyes is the best instructor I have ever had. Very thorough, very fun. The restaurant and island side of the resort is very high-class yet laid back at the same time. Everyone works hard to make you feel at home. I've made some very good friends during my stay here and absolutely recommend Barefoot to divers and non-divers alike. The on-site restaurant, Silversides, has an amazing menu and very reasonable prices. It's worth eating at even if you aren't staying at the resort, but you should be staying at this resort.

This is our third stay at this small quiet resort. As always, they make us feel at home here.

5th trip to Barefoot Cay since 2001. This experience is pure magic. The setting, staff, amenities, diving, housekeeping, and dining are the best ever, just keeps getting better with each visit. Our villa is right on the beach, glorious sunrise, gentle breeze, very private. The marina, pool, snorkeling, fine dining and dive shop are all within 5 min walk, and getting to the dive shop even includes a short boat ride.
Great landscaping, well lit pathways between buildings, beautifully maintained, and the entire staff is world class!

Had a great experience here! It’s like having your own private island! Was having such a wonderful time, I changed my flight and extended my trip!

A-a-a-mazing! Had one of the best short weekends at Barefoot! Quiet and private atmosphere. No resort noisy crowds. Great food. Great tours by Ken! Azul villa exceeded my expectations. Massage was off the hook! Cant wait to go back! If you want a REAL relaxing vacation… this is THE place!

The staff wonderful; a perfect blend of laid back island hospitality and service. This place is soooo quiet, we often felt we had the place to ourselves, and quickly made friends with the other guests. The dive staff is excellent! My buddy did the Open Water course, and I did the Advanced Course and EANX. Very professionally run, but still fun and laid back. The training dives were incorporated into exploration dives, so we all got to dive together. We will be back!

Barefoot Cay is such a beautiful place! We got a shuttle from the airport, and were immediately welcomed. The resort is private and very small, it’s the perfect place for some leave and quiet. We stayed in the small cabins on the beach. They were wonderful! The service here was amazing, better than any place we have ever stayed. I highly recommend! The food is pricey but it’s worth it.

An amazing place where the staff make you feel welcome and as if you are the only person on this little island escape. Best diving like Mary’s Place was literally a 5 minute boat ride compared to traveling from the west side of the island for an hour. I literally laid in my hammock at my little villa AFTER a 2 tank dive and would watch as 40 divers daily would ascend on Mary’s place. It was right there! I was done already by the time they got there. Gary the GM and an entire staff of incredible people are doing an excellent job with the casual luxury concept. We’ll be back! On second thought, this place is terrible and make sure you don’t go and take all the reservations.

My husband and I, along with another couple, went for the first time to enjoy their Sunday Funday, which is so heavily advertised. After an hour and a half we were in pool enjoying our drinks and about to order lunch when a staff member approached us and informed us that we would either need to pay $60 per person to continue to use their pool or get out! WE WERE THE ONLY GUESTS ON THE PROPERTY! Needless to say, we won't be back! Good luck with your business BC.

On an overcast Sunday my husband and one other couple went to experience "Sunday Funday" at Barefoot Cay, since all their advertising was so enticing. We were relaxing in the pool having drinks and after about an hour and a half we were going to order lunch when a staff member approached us and informs us that we either need to pay $60 per person to use the pool or leave. We were the ONLY guests on the property! We have never been treated so rudely in our lives. Good luck with your business BC!

Perfect place for a get away, far from madding crowds. Great food and service.

Very nice and good attention… Maybe I would have liked it if there was some place in front of the sea to take the drink or a coffee.

Nice owners. Lots of the wood here is over oiled so expect oil stains on clothing.

Dove with Vance from Barefoot Divers on April 7th 2018. By far the nicest and most organized dive shop I've ever dove with! Vance was a blast, full of energy and very attentive. Their facility was the best I've seen anywhere in the carribbean. Can't wait to dive with them again! Stace Bleich.

EXCELLENT! Everything and everyone here is first class! The best meals and our cottage was more than we could have imagined. Peaceful, quiet, and most of all, beautiful and relaxing.

Beautiful facilities, awesome staff. The only problems we had was barking dogs and you can't be in a hurry for food a d sometimes drinks.

We had an overall great time. There was an issue with our reservations at first, but it was addressed professionally. Our room faced East, so sunrise was our thing. The staff love their job, and from the top down, if they can make something more to your needs, they do it. Restaurant was excellent. Cocktails were tasty. We did not dive, or use the spa. This stay can mean rain, and you are walk on the island from your room to the restaurant, or to the tender, and then back to land.

Roatan (ROW uh tahn) is a semi-autonomous island of Honduras. A true island paradise, if ever there was one. Roatan was settled by three distinct ethnic groups: 1) The descendants of Mayan/Aztec/native Central Americans who speak mostly Spanish (the official language) ; 2) The descendants of English pirates who used Roatan (then called Rattan Island) as a base of operations and a safe haven — these folks mostly speak English; and 3) The descendants of a colony of freed English slaves who also mostly speak English. A wide and delightful ethnic mix, who all were quite friendly. The security guard at the resort was named Edison, and claimed to be Eddie Murphy's nephew. The Resort (Barefoot Cay) was absolutely delightful. Most of the resort encompasses a small island (Cay), with a small harbor on the west end, and cabanas lining most of the shores. The island also had a dugout canoe available to paddle around the lagoon. There's a small ferry that runs 24/7 to take you the 100 feet or so to the main island any time you'd like. Barefoot Cay itself is also home to Chaccaron — a clipped and very friendly parrot who strolls the island at will, and converses with the visitors. Loosely translated his name means "Chatterbox", and he really is one! It's funny, too, because he generally only says "Good Morning" before around ten. He also laughs — which is a dead ringer for the way their office manager laughs. His antics are defiantly a draw for the resort!

Absolutely love barefoot cay! This was our second visit and I swear, the staff just gets nicer every visit! Great personal service in an intimate setting. There is also a world class dive shop attached to this resort that exceeded our expectations with fantastic service and safety.

The resort taxi driver was unavailable so the driver sent an unknown (to resort) person— the very old pickup truck was broken down and we waited at the side of the road while 4-5 men tried to jump it and get it running (not a quick process). While waiting for someone to get the truck running, one of the men asked why we wouldn’t keep the money with the locals— there is apparently a real beach (swimming) at a cost of ~$45.00. Another person on our cruise later confirmed this option. I felt guilty— we should have supported the local people of the area. I hope you will! Instead, we spent ~$350.00 for ”taxi” service and a private beach area & oceanfront villa/suite that ONLY included sand (and litter) — not ocean, water or swimming. The private beach area (sand only) in front of the villa, with lounge chairs, table/chairs and a hammock was unusable because an employee with a backpack blower was spraying an unknown chemical— aside from the smell, you could taste it in the air. It did not feel safe to be outside in our “private” area because of the unknown chemicals. We left the area immediately. There was a crowd of people at the public dock, which was the only place to swim (small area) — we had to step over their belongings in order to enter the water via the stairs and walk over them as they sunbathed on the dock walkway.

Loved plastic for vacations. I will come back.

Amazing resort with the utmost courteous and friendly staff. My colleagues and I spent almost two weeks here and didn't want to leave.

I came from the other side of the island to dive one day. I had a lovely time with a young woman DM and captain will. They were quite thorough and thoughtful which is more than I can say for many other dive shops. I took a short walk around the resort and… boy do I wish I could afford to there. It's absolutely lovely! So go!

Love this Resort! Beautiful buildings, pool, marina. Be sure to go scuba diving. Beautiful reefs, tons of soft corals.

Very low key. Great staff that is well trained on completely unobtrusive service. Very private and small (about 35 max). Three daily scheduled dives from the shop. Good food. Decent snorkling from the palapa dock.

So many reasons why this is the only place for me in Roatan. The people, the accommodations, the diving, the food, the palapa! Perfect.

Barefoot Cay exceeded our expectations on every level. Planning and booking our holiday was effortless thanks to Stephanies' willingness to answer lots of questions and emails. Once we arrived we felt as though we were in a world unto itself populated with the most attentive and accommodating staff I have encountered in a life time of upscale travel (The Breakers, The Greenbriar, Silver Seas cruises, multiple Four Seasons, Cirigan Palace etc) We cannot say enough about the lovely people that took such extraordinary care of us at both the resort (Joel, Luisa, Sumare, Carlos, Matthew) and the dive shop (Derry, Jason, Alejandra, Tony, Tex) Our villa (Fuchsia) was well appointed, comfortable and maintained beautifully. Sitting on our veranda overlooking the beach and the ocean, listening to the waves was heavenly. Strolling the lush grounds you really feel as though you are on a private island — which, in fact, you are. The restaurant was charming. The table settings were a lovely frame for appetizing meals from a surprisingly diverse menu. The diving was spectacular and if that wasn't enough the valet diving experience was like magic. Every dive our gear was set up and waiting for us on the boat. We felt safe underwater and pampered on the surface. Barefoot Cay offers exceptional value for an unforgettable tropical vacation. I should stop gushing or they'll raise their exceedingly reasonable rates ;)

I stayed at Barefoot Cay a couple months ago. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff was great. The weather was perfect. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Nice rooms but nothing in terms of beach or natural beauty.
