We are a group of friends who have been traveling a few months ago and the place is very good, has everything you need in a hostel, comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, equipped kitchen, cute and large outdoor common spaces and most amazing a super host. Carlos passed to be a good administrator, is at your complete disposal, gives you good advice and data. It helps you in everything you need. With the help of him, we got all the tours and old mobilization, gave us the possibility to store our luggage and accommodate our friend until her flight time. Worried about you having a good time and your safety. I recommend gypsy house, would definitely come back.

Absolutely fantastic place to relax. Carlos is the most helpful host I have ever come across. For trips or transport he will only put you in touch with reputable, and good providers. We are a couple and just needed a simple place to call home close to town. It was perfect. The property has a kitchen and is not rushed or loud.

The location, atmosphere, and price make this place great, but Carlos the owner is what makes this hostel truly something special. A truly amazing person with the travelers best interest at heart. He understands that during travels, the unexpected can happen and if there is something that he can do to help make it easier for you, he will help to the best of his ability. A very genuine owner is what makes this hostel stand apart from the rest. 10/10 would recommend.

The hostel is great, but what really makes this place special is Carlos. He is exactly what you wish every hostel owner would be. Helpful, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, involved and honest. I've traveled Central and South America for a total of 9 months in 9 different countries and have only met a handful of people like him. If you want your tourist dollars to go to someone who truly deserves it then you have your answer, Casa Gitana. Carlos, If you ever come to the U. S. A. You've got a place to stay in Washington!

Amazing place to stay. Carlos is one of the friendliest host I ever had. The rooms are basic but you have all what you need. The terrace in the back is ideal to also work with your laptop. There are 2 good and stable Wi-Fis available. The free coffee and tea are amazing and there is also hot showers available :)

This is a small hostel which is quiet. It is located about a five minute walk from the central park or the main square. My private room was clean and the shared bathroom was clean. The owner Carlos is super friendly and speaks very good English so there is no communication issues. He will set up shuttles to other destinations, etc. I had a very nice stay here.

I don't even know how to say thank you. Carlos is a brilliant host and made our stay here one worth returning to and recommending highly. I haven't stayed in a more welcoming hostel. Carlos is a magnificent host with a lot of patients to have put up with us. Thankyou.

My friend and I stayed in Casa Gitana for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Calm place a couple blocks away from Antigua's main square. Carlos is a friendly and helpful host and will devote his time to give you advice on further trip or places to visit in Antigua.
