We have stayed three times now because it is so beautiful and lovely; the owners Maria and her family cannot do enough for their guests — they are incredibly kind, generous and thoughtful. I am slightly reluctant to review again as it is getting increasingly difficult to book due to popularity and sheer number of repeat guests she has! Which means I may not be able to rebook when I want to! The purpose of the repeat review is to confirm consistency in the service and accommodation provided. We have stayed in studios 3 and 4 and they are both of a good size; 4 is on the end of the block and has a little type of hallway where the kitchen area also is. Studio 3 is surprisingly spacious with the kitchen area at the back and the bedroom at the front opening on to the terrace; with the shutters down it keeps it darker in the mornings a bit. We can’t decide which one we prefer! The aircon is really good and is included in the price of rental. Although a couple of sun beds are provided, you can easily hop over the stairs next-to, and rent sunbeds from Belvedere overlooking the beach (5€ x 2 all day) — even do it “German-style” by reserving with beach towels first thing (please don’t be insulted, German readers, I know you will laugh! ).
I cannot overestimate how beautiful it is. If you are looking for something super-simple, quiet and relaxing yet with all amenities literally a stone’s throw away, you cannot find better.
We stayed at Kalypso for ten nights in July 2017. The apartments have a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and terrace. Nothing fancy, but nice, simple and clean. Ideal for self-catering.
The garden offers a quiet hideaway and direct access to the (pebbly) beach just ten stair steps away.
The owners (Maria and her husband) are available to give any advice from booking a boat in Paleokastritsa to recommending spots around the island. We were welcomed with homemade wine, jam and olive oil. Thanks again for that :)
We made a 20% downpayment via PayPal and paid the remainder in cash at arrival.
Our insider tipp for Paleokastritsa visitors: Hike up to Lakones village (30 minutes), and enjoy the view over the Ionian Sea while having a coffee at Cafe Eftichis.

We stayed here for one week. The village is very nice, locals outside in the evening and lost of cafeese for breakfast. The apartment we had was not very new, but totaly clean and had all we need. What I did not think before booking… the terrace with the view to the sea is nice before 10 am (visited I October) and for sunsets. But we were not back for sunsest, nacuse it is high up from the sea and other villages and we wanted to eat in different restaurants — in the village was only one good one.
