Review of Akrogiali Rooms 1*

We had such high hopes for out 2nd week of vacation. The area is beautiful and there is a lot to do. We we arrived the owner told us how it had been a long summer abd he was tired. We felt bad for him and you could tell he was exhausted. We had lunch at the hotel and it was very nice. He kept saying "best salad in Europe, best water in Europe. " I found it a bit strange but ok fine. Later in the evening we ate at another restaurant. I am not sure if this irritated him but from then on it seemed like he was unhappy with us. He was very short at every breakfast with us. I have been a waitress and this was really sad. After the breakfast I did not want to have to face him at dinner and have him grouchy with us. So we would eat somewhere else. I kept thinking ok let's eat tonight here at the hotel and give him some business but again he would be grouchy and we would not. Note dinner sre NOT cheap on Corfu. One evenjng we thought let's sit in the bar gave drinks and ice cream with the kids and play cards. Again, we were not felt to feel welcome so at that point I gave up and did not even go to breakfast. The rooms are basic but nice. The view is lovely from the terrace. The beach is quite narrow but the water is clear. They have beds you can take down the beach. If you have a neighbors who likes to listen thui videos on his balcony at night you will hear it from your room. Sadly we had one. The maid was great and very nice. The older woman who cook were also kind. The wait staff was not nice. So seeing the maid was the high pinkt as far as friendliness. You get coffee in your rooms and there is a fridge. For tge rest I would not return here as there waitstaff was so unfriendly. I find that sad. Happily we met lots of other nice people so do not let this review keto you from visiting. Maybe if you go at the beginning of the summer the man is nicer?
