Asantewaa Premier Guesthouse

I stayed at the Asantewaa from Christmas to the end of December 2018 with a local Ghanaian family. We reserved two rooms and were upgraded upon arrival as a welcome surprise. I’m not sure why, so we just said, “Yedaase! ” The rooms are clean and spacious, and the grounds are beautiful. Our children ran around outside freely and completely safe. Breakfast was free and delicious with excellent coffee. Other guests came from far-flung places and were so much fun to meet and talk with. The staff at the Asantewaa spoke excellent English, took care of my family as if they were their own, and represented the open hearts of the Ghanaian spirit. My friend and owner of the Asantewaa, Jorge Pasco Kofi Appiah was a delight to meet and treated us like his own family, even teaching us about the cultural history of the Ashanti people. I highly recommend the Asantewaa Premier Guesthouse if you are staying near Kumasi. Thank you, everybody, until we meet again. Medaase!

Good location and reasonable rates but need regular maintenance. Kitchen should have fume extractor hoods. Mattresses are sagging and need replacing. Mosquito net need repair.

I love food especially with the mushrooms. Its quite distant from main lsnd kumasi but a place to go if you dont want to be close to anyone.
