The hotel is located in a very old house. The furnishings of the rooms are made to old, which gives the room a lot of charm. If you are informed about the hotel you book in advance, and every normal person does it, then you also know that the hotel does not have parking spaces. The hotel has nothing to do with it, because it doesn't work at all because of the situation and a bit of running doesn't hurt anyone. The operator couple is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is quite sufficient in view of the moderate room rates, again you must always consider what you can expect. Overall the hotel is really recommended and clean as well. The location is good. I just can't understand some of the grumbles. I have a full score.

We had a good experience in this hotel. It is very well located, near the center of Monschau and the price is fair, with the breakfast included. The only downsides we had is that they put us in a twin beds room instead of a double bed room, and that there was always a smell of tobacco in the corridors. The rooms are also old but it can be part of the immersion in the city. You might encounter some difficulties to make yourself understood if you don't speak german.

Good value for the price. €69 dz incl. Fst. Furnishings from the 70/80s with antique highlights. Parking is a bit off, generally in Monschau.

Nice old hotel. Unfortunately the breakfast was very simple and the restaurant closed.

Nice room, very traditional, breakfast was good. Too bad when we were there the wine cellar was closed and only open on weekend. There was no Wi-Fi at the room. You could pay for using the Wi-Fi but it s available only at the reception area.

Great, cozy hotel in colonial, English style. Everything from the old fireplace, silk screen printing on the walls, dishes in the dining room and friendly, attentive hosts, will make guests enjoy the presence. And, later Objazateltno will want to go back there-in the wonderful little German town of Monshau and the hotel, in one of the oldest houses in this city, where the owner tried to summon all the delights of the past.

A First Class Hotel of a Certain Age. One could describe the hotel as "slightly dated" or having "period charm". I prefer the latter as this was a super hotel run by very helpful people and kind staff who were very polite about my schoolboy German and who ensured that that we had a great time. Superb breakfast, wonderful cellar restaurant (open Thursday to Sunday), lovely location in a beautiful town. We were there on business, looking at the battlefields of the Hurtgen Forest, but I would certainly return with my wife (or anybody else's wife for that matter) for a proper holiday. Bathrooms a bit small, but this is a superb 16th century Inn so such things are to be expected. I cannot recommend this hotel too highly. I will certainly be back.

I can recommend the Rittermal only. With bard bookings! An Experience.

Incredibly verwohntes room. Of cobbled, dirty verfleckter carpeted floor and teilreparierten Cocktailstühlchen from Urgroßmutters times. Everything seems salvaged from the dump to come. The tiny bathroom in his Browns in a Museum. This is not authentic, but at times disgusting. Guests with large feet have backwards occur, turn in the bathroom impossible. Of course could it also be a lame Service and a very moderate Breakfast, not just rip. On-site Restaurant was closed. No Lift, no Minibar, no room service, no car Park, almost not by car, guests should be good to walk. Car had about 500m away be parked. The price of this was more than outrageous. However, it was the Wi-Fi very good and free of charge, so you can at least quickly another Hotel looking for. Never again.

Very beautiful old and well preserved Hotel. Many antique furniture. You feel very at ease and also the Service is swift and uncomplicated.

The medieval banquets has good begonnem, from the main course left it but then after. Still a nice experience.
