Hotel "Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz" is like a haven of tranquillity in the throbbing heart of the city, and is an ideal place for leisure, business and Conference travellers who want to escape from the noisy hustle and bustle at Potsdamer Platz and stay still in the town. From Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Potsdamer Platz is only one train stop away. Then there are barely 400 metres walk to the hotel.
The Scandic lobby greets guests with a friendly bright color mix of white walls, a pattern of beige tones on the floor and chairs in bright shades of blue and warm coffee. The Foyer suggests a Scandinavian winter atmosphere with its colours without seeming too cool and should remind of the far north of the Scandic hotel chain is based.
The Scandic, including 124 superior rooms, 10 junior has 561 rooms suites and a 70-square-meter Executive Suite. All rooms are decorated in the colours of the four seasons. The guest can choose not only the size of the room, but also his Lieblingssaison. While in the hotel restaurant, the establishment and the unobtrusive birds chirping in the background reminiscent of a summer way, the lounge bar with earthy charm autumn.
In the evening when it is dark outside and in the lounge area candles and dimmed lights a particularly cosy atmosphere generate, if earthy tones and strong warm colours come to the fore, then is it here very comfortably. The nightcap you can after eating at the bar, the cosy Separés of the lounge or on the terrace enjoy (if temperatures allow it). My room on the 8th floor (so top) was a spacious superior room with view to the Potsdamer Platz.
The wonderfully comfortable box-spring bed width should be allergy-friendly and a modern Artemide Tolomeo stood on the beautifully curved wooden desk reading lamp. The foot-friendly, sealed soil in pine and Walnut was heat the room, the floor-to-ceiling Windows were fully open (for a "fresh air fanatics" like me extremely important! ) and the drinks from the mini-bar was free of charge in the superior rooms — what you want more? Very handy — not only for business travellers — were also iron and ironing board, and of course the free Wi-Fi, whose Leistung as everywhere was very good in the House.
After leaving the 'Scandinavian oasis in the heart of Berlin' (self-promotion of the hotel), I rolled my trolley in only five minutes back to the Potsdamer Platz train station. I had previously enjoyed an equally good breakfast after a good night's sleep.
What will be my well remembered:
The gentle, cheerful birdsong, which delighted many guest in the elevator. The hand disinfection stands and shoe cleaning machines on the floor of each room. The cheerful and warm Scandinavian colors and patterns throughout the House. The last nightcap in the cosy bar lounge in the evening and the good organic breakfast in the morning. But above all, the consistently friendly staff, both in the service at the reception.
