A typical Bavarian restaurant. We eat very well there. Good surprises a meal on large tables with a musical accompaniment of the vintage. Very good atmosphere.

Excellent restaurant with live performance of Bavarian dances, accordion music and yodelling. Rooms a bit too old fashioned and outdated, but bathrooms are superbly renovated. Stairs can be difficult, especially with luggage.

Run down, dark hotel and restaurant. Only stay if you like stairs. 3 stories up steep stairs. No one to check you out early or late.

We reserved for Saturday night, but were not prepared for what to expect. Here, a firework of Bavarian clichés was torched, which delighted hordes of Chinese. Our reservation was completely forgotten — so we quickly left the restaurant. Therefore neutral three stars.

If you want to experience Bavarian extreme tourism away from Neuschwanstein, you can pass a Saturday.

Kind of like in the circus. A lot of show. What kind of tourists? The goulash was tough and dry for that. There wasn't even a breadth to it.

The hotel was an old beautiful building. The room was very spacious, clean, quiet, and well decorated. The breakfast was also excellent and generally it was one of our best hotel experiences. The only improvement that I can think of is Wi-Fi.

That was my second time here. I had a very nice food (asparagus, with young potatoes), which is very traditional in Germany this time of the year. It's just delicious! Of course the live music with folk dance made the time even nicier. As the first time, the service was very good, with a very friendly staff. Very recommended.

Great service, great food, especially fish and Weißwurst (except for Tiroler Gristle, very strange taste). Amazing interior inside and of course terrific view on mountains.

Yummy! Local Bavarian with typical dishes. Bavarian live music. I recommend booking, the place is always busy every day of the week.

The food was very good and the menu included a large variation of many Bavarian dishes. There was also a wide selection of dishes on the day menu.
I had to fault the service because 3 waiters just stood around and did nothing while I waited for my TISCV to be cleared.

A Local that makes you feel like the place. From the gastronomic point of view the dishes were delicious as well as plentiful, excellent beer. The whole thing is accompanied by a typical Bavarian atmosphere, there are some boys dancing a musician who plays and this contributes to make the evening pleasant.

Very typically German restaurant with a well decorated interior and a beautiful exterior. The staff are traditionally dressed. The service is prompt and they managed to serve our group of almost 50 people at a very good pace. They food is very traditional served in very large portions. There some vegetarian options. There was live music and folk dancing they might we were there.

In the period from 19.2-22.2.2018 we were guests in the hotel/guesthouse.
The telephone reservation was good and the room O. K.
We booked it without breakfast.
In the evening there were no tables for hotel guests. We should set ourselves between two group reservations.
On the question of whether we would have to reserve on the next evenings, we were justified by the senior manager with the statement "Of course you must, we must get the restaurant full".
At any cost? Hotel guests do not bring sales?
Our place reservations were questionable, of privacy at no trace.
Among other things we sat at the vestibule, there it was very cold.
We didn't feel welcome.

Food was just terrific! Large portions for a not so high price. Nice staff. But since a lot of guests/tourists/people visit the restaurant the condition of course also a lot zutuhen therefore sometimes have a bit of patience. Must be pre-booked.

Bavaria Pur. Schuhplattln and iconic music accompanied us at dinner. Very fast service and food and drinks were quick at the place. Portions are really big, so the pork knuckles unfortunately did not fit completely. A reservation is almost obligatory at all times. We (2 people) were lucky enough to be able to sit at the table. We are always happy to return.

Absolutely atrocious service! My husband and I (who have been here before and enjoyed it) chose to take our five-month-old daughter here for our final meal before moving back to America after a three-year tour in Germany. I called and made a reservation for two adults and a baby, but when we arrived, they had placed us in the middle of a long table with no space for our baby’s car seat or a high chair. The waiter (a tall male with brown hair) rolled his eyes and made a big deal of moving us to accommodate our baby (WHO WAS ON THE ORIGINAL RESERVATION). Everyone has bad days, so I let it slide, besides, we’ve become accustomed to subpar German hospitality. While we were trying to get settled at our new table, my husband rested our diaper bag on an empty chair; the waiter came over, slapped down our menus, and told my husband (like he was a complete idiot) that he “needs to sit there, not the bag”. I promptly told the waiter that his behavior was unwarranted and incredibly unappreciated and we left never to return. Shame on this establishment for employing such unprofessional scum! If your staff doesn’t want to do their job right and with a smile, why do you pay them!? Visitors, don’t waste your time or money on this kitschy establishment with one star service.

We have been living here in Germany for three years and had no problem making a reservation here, but as soon as we walked in, the waiter found out we were American and his attitude took an immediate turn. He started rolling his eyes and was visibly annoyed that we had our five-month-old baby with us. After getting snippy about not sitting in the exact chair he wanted (which he never indicated and the whole restaurant was empty) we left. Very disappointing experience. This place doesn't deserve your business and if you're a tourist you don't have to put up with this unprofessional behavior from their wait staff.

Cozy, nice, traditional, with good food and good accommodation.

Those who would like to have good Bavarian cuisine combined with traditional music and Schuhplattln, i. E. The full Bavarian programme, are right here. Pure touring, which must not be seen negatively.

Amazing food, fun entertainment, and great rooms made this a perfect stop over for us. It is well situated for those wanting to hike, visit the mountains, or do some shopping. There is live music in the evenings at the restaurant. Be sure to try the Bier schnapps! Rooms were comfortable and spacious and offered glimpses of the mountains.

We went to a family meeting spontaneously at the inn to eat. The restaurant was cosy, traditional and well maintained. The service was reserved, but friendly. The food (schnitzel, fries, cabbage wrap, Gröstl) was okay, but not outstanding. Nevertheless, we had a pleasant time there, for a cozy gathering it is a good place.

Misguided in the reservation, there was no bed in the room and they did not even add it, we had to adapt. Bathroom full of other people's hair, good restaurant but overpriced.

The hotel was very cute and cozy. It had a real homelike feel to it. The restaurant where you check in has a great traditional Bavarian vibe as well. The Wi-Fi didn’t work for 2 of the nights we were there, but it couldn’t be fixed as we were there over the Christmas holiday. The price was quite steep at €100/night without breakfast. The shower was great in our room with plenty of pressure and a view of the church and mountains out of the attic window. I would stay again. If the price were lower.

We went there to have the traditional style Bavarian meals. They have lodging also. The food were good, big potions, prices were reasonable and very superb customer service. The waitress was so friendly and they were wearing their traditional outfits. We'll be back one day.

I've been to this place twice. And it's all about short-term earning. Their own space wishes were abruptly rejected. I don't have to have it again.

Surrounded by mountains of a small town, even if just walking on the roadside is full of romantic atmosphere! Dinner show with pig's feet and exclusive thick milk wine, breakfast is also very delicious!

The old female staff (only staff) was very rude and aggressive. She yelled and scolded me, when I ask a question. She seemed to release her stress to me. If you would like to ruin your trip, it is the best choice for you.

Classic Bavaria. Becoming a bit touristy if your visit coincides with a tour bus of people from another planet. Food is ok, music (and the man playing it) is the best.

My husband and I stayed here this last February, and absolutely loved it! It is the most quaint place, with the most incredible food. They have live music and dancing in the restaurant most nights, which is just so fun and gives you an authentic German experience. The staff is so friendly and knew us personally, and remembered our name each time we would come down for breakfast or dinner. They even remembered whether we preferred coffee or tea, etc. And would get what they remembered we liked the moment we sat down. The rooms are small, but have everything you need and are decorated adorably. After all, you visit Garmisch to get out and explore! The best part about this place is the restaurant and staff, and the authenticity. The food is some of the best German food in Garmisch. People go to Gasthof Fraundorfer because it's one of the best restaurants around. As a guest, the breakfasts were to die for! Meats, cheeses, breads, eggs, fruits, cereals — — all high quality, all fresh, and so much more delicious than in the US! They gave us a bus card so we were able to take the bus for free anywhere that we didn't feel like walking to (although we enjoyed walking very much). The bus stop is just right around the corner! Highly recommend! Thank you, Gasthof Fraundorfer for such a wonderful stay and such incredible memories!

Went here twice while staying in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Fantastic food, superb friendly service and great live music entertainment made for a brilliant atmosphere. Also, the best apple strudel I've ever tasted.

My family and I have stayed here on both of our trips to the area (as well as the Edelweiss Lodge) and loved it. The atmosphere is very cool. They serve delicious food and beer. I recommend staying here if you want a little local flavor and good hospitality.

The hotel is very quaint. One of the nicest in the area, very characteristic also that: full of Gasthof (INNs) with restaurant and rooms on the upper floors. The place is really gorgeous, Bavarian atmosphere. We eat very well. Breakfast well presented and stocked. Standard sized rooms, clean, in Bavarian style. The only flaw is that the staff is not exactly friendly. Otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Was for 5 days there. Great ambience, Bavarian is not about. Food was also excellent.

Came for lunch, for old time's sake, boiled pork shank! Boiled was not, given half a dried up rubber. Fitness salad with Turkey was the most harmful, because was completely drenched with vinegar and hot sauce, delicious! Meat reindeer meat was impossible to chew! In General, not tasty and not cooked quality, from former glory kitchen Frau Dorfer not a trace! Most will not go.

We have been here a week and we have really enjoyed it. Excellent Breakfast. Fountain view on the Zugspitze. Friendly Staff. Beautiful Bavarian pub. Not only for tourists from Asia.

In Garmisch-Partenkirchen I wouldn´t stay anywhere else. Barbara always makes me feel like one of the family. The breakfast is wonderful and the fact that there is a restaurant with very good food and nightly entertainment makes the Fraundorfer the perfect place for an alpine vacation. Not to mention that it is in the heart of the historic district of Partenkirchen´s Ludwigstrasse.

Charming bavarian decor, fantastic selection of food and beer, and yodeling. A perfect place to eat when visiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
