A very wonderful place, I was warmly received and also introduced to the history of this special hotel. I am looking forward to returning to Hirschgasse soon. Breakfast was delicious!

Great romantic little hotel opposite Heidelberg Castle. We would be personally instructed by the manager in the history of the hotel. Top cuisine, great wines and excellent service!

A really wonderful experience at Die Hirschgasse. The hotel itself is in a very quiet location but still an easy walk to the old town, and the room was spacious and nicely appointed. The staff was helpful, friendly and very responsive to any request. The meals here are a special experience starting with the breakfast, which is a good as any I've had in any hotel anywhere, and, of course, the restaurant with great food and flawless service.

Everything was nearly perfect. I would give 4.5 stars.

We stayed 3 nights while visiting Heidelberg. From the moment we got out of the taxi up to checkout the staff went above and beyond. I am still dreaming about the wonderful breakfast. The rooms were cozy and the bed extremely comfortable. Great location very easy to walk to the old bridge and into town. I hope I get to visit this wonderful hotel and town again.

A wonderful and comfortable stay in an historic building. You would never know in the bucolic, tree covered property that a walk down the street one block bringings you to the old bridge over the Neckar and easy stroll over to the old town. If it is night then you ha e one of the best views ever of the Castle lit by megawatts of lighting. A fabulous view. Breakfast is awesome and would take too to describe. Loved our stay and will stay again on our next trip to Heidelberg.

Very personal and family-run hotel. If you are looking for a historical idyll with a view for the small details instead of a monotonous 5 * — necklace is absolutely right here. Unfortunately, this time we didn't manage to dine at Le Gourmet Restaurant. But that's just a reason to come back! Thank you again and all the best to the hotel to Hirschgasse!

Hi, we chose to stay at Die Hirschgasse Heidelberg as part of our honeymoon! Unfortunately, we made a booking mistake (2 nights instead of 1 night), more than one month in advance. The booking was done with an early bird offer. We called the hotel straight away (an hour or so after the booking) — the payment was not yet reserved by the hotel so in principle they could still change it for us, well at least as far as their goodwill is concerned… We asked them if they could amend the booking from 2 nights to 1 night. Under no circumstance this was possible, no cancellation or modification allowed. Even though the payment was not yet reserved, it was not possible they said. We suggested to pay the full price for 1 night instead (so no early bird rate) in order to find a suitable solution for the hotel. Again, not possible. However, suddenly changing the dates was not a problem at all?! We understand that there are boundaries, but for such a so-called high class hotel you would expect the best service in each possible way, especially when you book with them directly and when the payment is not yet processed (we contacted Worldline and they confirmed that no payment has been processed yet, but that only a reservation of the amount was done after our phone call with the hotel and that the cancellation is purely dependent on the (good) will of the hotel — they just need to send a fax to worldline mentioning the transaction number and that's it! ).

We loved Die Hirschgasse in Heidelberg. The suites were spacious and full of old world charm. As we walked in I saw and bought a book written by Mark Twain about his travels through Heidelberg and his experience at Die Hirschgasse. We will stay there again.

A true small luxury hotel — great food, great service, great staff. The Butler Breakfast is awesome and if you have the chance try their homemade Nutella it will blow your mind!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in early June in this marvelous Heidelberg Hotel. Its history as well as the warm welcome by current hosts made it a highlight of our two-week sojourn in Europe — including Scandinavia and Switzerland, as well as Austria. We arrived very late the first evening but were greeted effusively; breakfast each day was another highlight — delicious, with fabulous presentation. The linens, bath facilities, and attention to every detail are also among the reasons that we highly recommend Die Hirschgasse Heidelberg. And location, too, is ideal — for it's an easy walk to the center of old Heidelberg.

The location is good, the staffs are great, and the breakfast is awesome. However, the attitude of the manager is so bad, his disrespect and prejudice against those who looks like Chinese totally showed by how did he talk to us. The worst is the few words totally destroyed our vacation. For those who looks like Chinese and want to visit this hotel, hope you won't meet him. Attitude can ruin everything. It's definitely not a five-star hotel.

Very nice hotel in a quiet part of Heidleberg. The owners and staff of this family run hotel could not have been nicer. Great good in the evening and the breakfast was amazing. They have local wines from the vineyard further up from the hotel. Definitely going back there. Highly recommend.

Very pleasant stay. Room was elegantly decorated and the hotel is perfectly located for both walks up the hill and a trip into town/the castle. Breakfast was also a highlight — wish we'd been able to eat at the restaurant but it was full! Gives us an excuse to go back next time.

We had a team event in the wonderful restaurant, ALL participants enjoyed the dinner, recommended!

We stayed at Die Hirschgasse for a quick romantic weekend, and were not disappointed at all! One might think the decor is a bit kitsch at first because it seems dated, but if you take a moment to go over the detail to which every part of the room is made to follow a single style, it really becomes quite impressive. Yes, the stay is expensive but you are staying in a piece of history located in a very convenient location and with excellent staff! The staff was extremely accomodating to us when we wanted to leave our bags for them to hold as we went sightseeing on our final day after checking out. We had dinner in one of the restaurants downstairs, Mensurtube, and it was absolutely an unforgettable meal. Yes, we are tourists and want to take pictures and ask a million questions, and our waiter was patient and answered all of our questions. It was so neat to eat at such a historical location, although I do wish several of the items around the beautiful room had descriptions written on them. We were not rushed and enjoyed our special order for two very much — — the veal was the best either of us have had! The breakfast is very pricey, so we decided to skip in favor of exploring the local bakeries, but this is certainly a place where you get what you pay for and they deliver top quality food and service. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms large for Europe, and the location was perfect for exploring the Alt Stadt and castle.

What can I say? After traveling from Memphis, TN, this "hotel" was a wonderful introduction to Germany… Full of fascinating history and decorated with the utmost charm, it was everything I could hope for in a hotel. The staff is very welcoming, attentive, and accommodating, and their English is excellent! The chef was outstanding… I would love to take lessons from him/her. (I wish I had gotten the recipe for their swiss porridge! ) We also met the owner, Mrs. Kraft, who was very friendly, helpful, and charming. The hotel was very clean; the bed was so comfortable, I didn't want to get up in the morning; the room was absolutely charming with a sitting room and a canopy bed; the bathroom was completely up-to-date. Truthfully, I did not want to leave! The Hirschgasse was so comfortable and welcoming, it was like going home at the end of the day! I can't see how anyone could possibly write anything negative about the Hirschgasse! The other hotels in Germany were we stayed were very plain, tiny, helpful, but not friendly. And the others were more expensive!
