We found a heart in Giverny ❤
We us a family love to travel to France by car; exploring the small villages, not only the famous and touristic ones, but those not discovered from tourism yet and that hide the authenticity of the French countryside. We love to stay in places with traditional and historical architecture, like Châteaus or Maisons de campagne, pretending to be princesses and knights!
Abiding by those family rules we made this trip to Giverny and Monet’s gardens and chose to stay in a guest house in the Seine Valley, ten minutes away from Giverny, in order to enjoy the sounds and flavours of the nature Normande only!
We found our paradise there along with a big welcoming heart, from two wonderful people, Elisabeth and Raoul, the owners of this paradise. I will not talk to you about the traditional architecture, the unique garden with the small pond and the so many different spots to relax, nor about the cleanliness of the place, the care that its owners give or for the culinary talent of Elisabeth (everything traditional, home-made and with the best local ingredients), but I will talk about their heart and their hospitality that can make me now say…I found a family in Giverny!
Thank you Elizabeth and Raoul from them bottom of our hearts and of course for your little surprise for our Lidas birthday! See you soon 😉

Beautiful place! We stayed in the cottage at the end of April and stayed in the Bibliothèque suite later in our tour through France. The cottage (gîte) has its own kitchen and private terrace. The Bibliothèque suite has a bedroom on the ground floor and a pleasant sitting room with a large collection of books. Both have very nice beds with luxurious bedding in which we slept wonderfully. The breakfast was perfect; fresh, many homemade products, organic, complete and well cared for. Every day it was a surprise what kind of delicacies Elisabeth had prepared. Many vegetarian options which is quite rare in France. Raoul and Elisabeth know the region well and actively try to stay informed about art exhibitions, for example, so they can give you advice on how to create an interesting day program. You can enjoy the large garden with several seating areas and park your car or bicycle on site. Giverny is a 10-minute drive away, for those who want to visit Monet's gardens. (Tip: buy a ticket online in advance, then you can enter via a separate entrance and avoid the queue. ) Une vie en rose is ideal as a stopover (for example for about three days) from the Netherlands to the south of France, but I would also recommend a week or two to enjoy the surroundings of Giverny and take an occasional daytrip. The town of Pressagny-L'orgueilleux is very small, in Vernon a little further away you have an extensive choice of shops and restaurants.
