Best meal we had in Normandy all holiday. Restaurant itself is beautiful, the menu is extensive but well thought out and service is friendly & professional. Modern, well-cooked meal. We were delighted. All the other restaurants in Normandy just cater for tourists with the same prices as here but with sub-standard food. Go here for lunch or dinner but book in advance so you won’t be disappointed!

More of a camping feeling than an hotel in the room and facilities. Missing fridge, AC and a "do not disturb sign" in the rooms. Cleaning lady wants to access the room quite early so don't panic if someone is opening the door before 10AM. However we had a nice stay. Restaurant and staff is great.

We arrived late at omaha beach and this was the only place still open at 9pm on a Saturday night. Very sleepy place. We arrived a half hour before the stated closing time and were not given a warm welcome to say the least. A very stressed man reluctantly cleared a table for us. Two others shortly behind us were briskly rejected. They seem to have an aversion to good business. Looking at the menu and some of the dishes around, our expectations were low. They have about 20 entrees and 20 main dishes, 15 varieties of desserts and some daily specials, plus some other offers. I suspect none of them are good. Why do restaurants still feel they have to offer a thousand different dishes or variations of the same thing? Anyway, we safeguarded and ordered the fish and chips. The fish was dry, bland, tasteless and the crust was mealy and soft. Chips were dry and completely tasteless. Like cardboard. The tartar sauce was, well I don't really know what it was. We forced ourselves to eat half of the fish and chips with the condiments supplied on the table (ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper) to get some flavours. My beer was also quite tepid. We left 30 minutes after we walked in the door, 40 euros poorer. Stay away, even if it's your last resort. I would rather starve to be frank. As we were leaving a dog was walking around the restaurant without a leash and jumped up to grab the counter. No-one seemed to care. On a positive note the cider was good and the complementary bread was okay.

My family and I are visiting France for the first time in years. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed! Tres bon.

Excellente! Very good food and fantastic service Perfect for dinner after experiencing Omaha beach and celebrating the freedom they provided us by dining right next to Omaha.

We've known the restaurant for a long time! Impossible for us to spend a weekend in the area without booking a table (we tested everything with pleasure but with a preference for cream mussels! )
We did not know the hotel, it's done since this Saturday 23/06/2018 … We are delighted by the softness, simplicity and comfort of the rooms!
As for the team that manages this establishment we say congratulations to them for their professionalism, their smile and their availability!

Good restaurant. Seaside. Good reception. Nice setting.

Great atmosphere. Located near Omaha Beach and the 2ID Memorial. Stopped through for coffee and dessert and the owners daughter was very helpful.

This is the second time I’ve been here and given the proximity to both Omaha Beach and the nearby American cemetery, makes this a great hotel/restaurant. The staff speaks perfect English, the food is very good and reasonable. The only thing is their Wi-Fi connection is both bad and somewhat slow. But then again, who comes to Normandy to stay in a room and use Wi-Fi, right?

It's always a pleasure to go to La Sapinière the staff are nice, the atmosphere warm and we eat very well!

Friendly and helpful staff. The room is very clean and large with terraces. The site is not very far 2a foot from the beach.

Lovely friendly atmosphere, really lovely food especially the home made desserts. Enjoyed my visit & will definitely go there again on my next visit to France.

Tourist card, quite expensive compared to others in the corner. We were well received and relatively fast service. Personally I will take it as an alternative.

A fine restaurant with friendly staff, but not so flexible. We asked for a croque madame without ham, but this was not possible. It gave us the impression these were ready-made instead of freshly made. It shouldn't be difficult to remove a slice of ham.

Correct food: My wife her mussels very well, when to me the cod tasteless.
The prices a little high (although that all the restaurants of the corner practical the tourist price)
In any case we had a great time and the frame was up to the task not looking for great cuisine but rather a good time.

At first site it didn't look like much, but it's only 20 to 100 meters from the beach. The rooms are like small apartments with all you need. The staff and place makes you feel like you staying at family or friends. I loves it there.

Called in for breakfast. Very fresh cheese and bread. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

This place lives up to its reviews. We were happy with our lunch here. The fish and chips had a very tasty tartar sauce but I didn't care much for the breading. The fries were pretty good here too. I loved the Quiche, it was more moist than others we had in France.

We ate lunch here after visiting Omaha Beach museum, cemetery, and beach. The waitstaff spoke great English and were warm and welcoming. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating — outside would be so lovely on a warm day. Salad was fresh and delicious; croque monsieur was also great! Lots of bread and butter. We were very happy we stopped here!

Great setting for relaxing, nice person and we ate pretty well! I'll be back.

Better than average breakfast, mediocre food.
Quality cheap price.

The food and service were so outstanding, we ate here 2 nights in a row. Definitely try the Moules a la Creme, which are delicious and abundant and served with your chose of salad or fries (both of which are very good! ). You would easily pay twice as much here in the States for this dish. I also recommend the Cafe Gourmand… espresso and 3 dessert tastings, plenty for 2 people to share for only 7, 95 euros.

La Sapinière, la Sapinière, la Sapinière. But it's actually the restaurant on the beach to have in his address book, and Favorites, please.
A place more than pleasant, for a simple lemonade on a field with an estate of choice, very colorful and immediately gives that touch of originality, ease of use and this big warm touch. All this accented with a service and a team at the top of the top. Always very cheerful and warm, while remaining very professional with this easy to learn about fresh, local products present in the kitchen. Knowing all their proposals on the tips of the fingers they us quickly the water rise to the mouth.
Meanwhile your menu, small piece of bread with butter is always available for you in front of our eyes, charmed by the scene.
The arrival of the dishes! Now only one very good tasting.
And finally in wonder… An addition at the end of the more enjoyable meals as a result of the quality, quantity and report service and trim.
Now, they remain us only one thing to do…
It's of course… to reprogram a new little dinner or even lunch at la Sapinière in Saint_Laurent_sur_Mer.

Stayed here while on 70th Anniversary of D-Day landings of Allied troops, June 6, 1944. The rooms were excellent, and the food was fantastic! While dining, try the La Sapiniere Calvados brandy — delicious! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed dinner on two occasions while visiting Normandy. Both meals were excellent. If you are there while scallops are in season, order them! The waitstaff was kind and efficient. One evening, we met a charming French couple who recommended favorite dishes and had a thoroughly enjoyable time chatting and eating and drinking. Be sure to try the regional specialty Calvados. They serve an ice cream or sherbet dessert with Calvados on top that is wonderful.

Great experience, great food, reasonable prices. Convenient for a stop for lunch while visiting Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery.

Ambience pro but relaxed, young and comfortable. Kitchen without mistakes. Hotel constructon wooden both simple and original. No direct Seaview but the invasion of Omaha Beach is 30 meters! For illuster the cool atmosphere of the place, at the end of the season the direction takes all employees on a trip (Argentina, Brazil). Mandatory detour.

Wanted to eat here after all positive reviews I read. Unfortunately having a baby and toddler with us we came in at 11h40 but couldnt order before 12h30. Which was too late for us. Looked like nice place and staff informed us in a friendly manner.

This is an excellent place to stay if you want to visit Omaha Beach. It's puts you right in between the American Cemetery and the monument along the beach. The service is just excellent and the owner clearly puts in a lot of work to make the place outstanding. This is no typical hotel. Think of it as renting an apartment with great hotel and food service. Great for a family stay.

Very good restaurant. Very nice. Very good welcome by a charming staff. We have a good time and have good food. We will hold the address and will recommend it.

Their website says 20 meters from the beach, I though that was an exaggeration, but Omaha beach is literally about 20 away, just through the trees. An old German gun empacement/bunker with an artillery gun still in it is about a 100 yard walk from the hotel. Great location if you want to stay on the beach and play or explore historical sites. We walked to the American cemetary and Colleville-sur-Mer. Pointe du Hoc is also a short drive away. The operators of the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful, some of the most refreshing service I've had at any business in a long time, you can tell they love their job. The rooms are large, nicely furnished, and clean. I would immediately recommend this to anyone. P. S. They also have free Wi-Fi by the cafe.

Stayed three nights here with my wife and we were totally impressed. The owner and staff are excellent and go out of their way to make you comfortable. The speak good English and don't look down on you for not speaking French. We stayed once at Hotel-Casino on the South end of Omaha Beach and it was a horrible experience. Staying at La Sapiniere was 1000% better and is the only place we will stay in the future. A short walk to the North or South will put you right on the beach.
