Very small rooms but very clean, delicious breakfast, very nice location, and inner courtyard & swimming pool.

Pleasant stay, the hotel is very well placed at the foot of the ramparts. Employees listen to our needs. However, some details should be improved for a hotel of this standard: no trash cans near the pool bar, our bathtub was clogged and our key was not working, we had a pass to enter our room, at 10.30am it was missing some food at breakfast level.

A good hotel. Helpful and friendly staff with a great location. Pool is small but adequate — very cool after the summer heat. We did not eat here but looked nice. Our room however was not to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The room was smallish, had obviously been a bit battered and things in the bathroom had not fixed to the wall. Overall a good hotel — don't worry about the room, hopefully you'll be out exploring Carcassonne and the local area.

Hotel very close to the Citadel of Carcassonne and the Narbonense gate. It has its own parking. The standard double room is unspacious for a 4 star hotel. The staff in general (reception, restaurant, etc. ) is nice and several of them understand and speak Spanish. I recommend you to ask for half board and make dinner in the restaurant or on the pleasant terrace if the weather accompanies. The food of the restaurant is very good, much better than in most of the restaurants that we can find in the Old Citadel.

Very nice but the rooms need a update to be a good 4 star and the breakfast buffet was good but very slow to refill when things run out.

Very nice rooms — service in Restaurant is improvable — organization should be checked, as a lot of people did not get drinks and the waiters/waitresses focused on cleaning processes and not in customers…

We have experienced personnel as rather inattentive Bishin to unkind. The room that was sold to us for the honeymoon as special was not beautiful, but tiny and dark. The bathroom did not have a proper deduction and the wall had loud strieling because the humidity ran down drip-by-drop on the wallpaper.
The food (in the evening the menu at all 3 courses including the baking drum that gave to the main course) was really very disappointing in taste. Completely unseasoned, ready-made, overcooked noodles, lovingly prepared. But nicely prepared. The breakfast too. All fertigulation, scrambled eggs dried up, pancakes despite heat plate cold, fruit qualitatively not good even tasted as if it had fermented and the bacon rather swabby rather than crisp. But a great deal of choice.
Even the coffee, and this has really never happened to us before, tasted metallic and bitter and was not edible with milk and sugar.
The small outdoor complex is pretty.
Maybe we were really unlucky but for 2 nights, 1 dinner, 2 breakfast with 2 people were €35050 outrageous. Therefore, we cannot understand the positive reviews, nor the 4 stars.

Good value booked last minute on the web, friendly staff, set us up with an English speaking guided tour of the old town, excellent afternoon out on the town.

Very good reception, delicious meal, 27 pretty room. But the mattress is to change, it sags. Slept very badly feeling the springs. Compensation (2 breakfasts offered) not to the height of the inconvenience. Thank you in advance for making a commercial gesture before we refer to booking.

Tatty, unkept, staff that make you feel like THEY are doing you a favour by greeting you / serving you. Not a place I would stay again. An Ibis is better value for money. This hotel is meant to be the next level up of Accor Hotels. Just a price difference I think.

Hotel very close to the medieval city. Five minutes walk and access through the Narbonne gate.
The hotel is integrated into the scenery. It has its own parking, not covered.
Check-in is fast and caters in Castilian. Modern decor. Overlooking the medieval city. They report on day activities in the city and areas to visit.
Breakfast buffet is sufficient and adequate, without shortages and with variety. There are products in the area both in sausages and in cheeses.
It has hall area with fireplace that will. It's very charming.

With half the stars he has, he'd still be spared. Excessive price for the services it gives. It's only saved by the location. The Wi-Fi is very short and does not give even to read the mail. Small and very cold room. The Nespresso of the photos turned out to be a kettle of water and there are not the bathrobes of the photos. The bed like a stone. We went back to rest after lunch and the room was still not made after we left before 9am. We had to warn them to do it.

It is an exceptional place by situation but the best, treatment, tranquility and the rooms, the food I can not value it I have not eaten any time in the three days I have been, generally a highly recommended place…

Nice hotel, great food & only short walk to the cité of Carcassonne. Only real criticism is that our room was rather bland, could have done with some artwork on walls; however great view of the castle.

Excellent in every way. Lovely, friendly greeting, first class dinners and breakfasts and a comfortable room. My wife and I could not be happier with the Mercure Martin Gatt.

Good value for money 5 minutes from one of the entrance doors. Parking inside the hotel. Totally recommended.

Excellent location 5 minutes away from the Citadelle. The staff is really friendly and helpful and the bedrooms clean and comfortable. Excellent buffet breakfast.

Tiny room and the beds were a little hard. The hotel could use a little remodeling, but staff was friendly, it's close to La Cité and parking was free. I would go back because of the great location! They do need to invest in at least one English speaking TV channel though.

Room at the top, just perfect restaurant! Staff at the reception perfect also, to the services of the restaurant even better, to 7min walk to the city. And to top it off a pool. Nothing to say, just perfect!

This is a smart, clean and friendly Hotel, ideal for visiting the Citè de Carcassonne. I only gave 4 stars, not 5 because 1. The bed was too hard for us (although my sister and brother in law were happy with it) and 2. As with all Accor hotels, the heating/air con system is very noisy and not very effective, and the controls in the room don't seem to work. Personally, I don't like the hair dryer being fixed in the bathroom, with no plug point near a mirror. It is also somewhat disappointing, in a 4 star hotel, that one has to wait too long for for someone to appear to serve at the bar. Otherwise recommend!

Staying here for three nights to explore Carcassonne medieval city. Love the hotel, the regular rooms are nice and the location is perfect. We walked from the train station to the hotel in less than 20 minutes and less than 5 minutes to the castle. It is also a perfect location as a short bathroom and rest stop leaving the medieval city to go into the town for non touristy food away from the castle. We did not eat here yet (last night will be tonight), but there is a thunderstorm moving in and probably will tonight. Just from our experience eating in other towns that are less touristy, the prices are very high for the food. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you are only using public transit. I would recommend making the trek into town for your meals, away from the castle, for high quality food at great prices. Most places we stopped at in France we had breakfast/lunch at amazing prices compared to in America. Then bought some bread at a bakery we ate at and stopped for fruit and cheeses for a light dinner.

Very good location. 3 minutes walk to the walled town. Very helpful. Very cozy. They solved my problem with a room that we needed at the time. Free parking for the coche. Habitaciones in perfect condition I clean. You can choose habtitaciones that communicate between if. Very happy with the choice.

Very clean, pleasant hotel, relaxed atmosphere. The car park was secure and free, albeit hard to find. The outdoor swimming pool was clean and heated, and changing rooms and showers were available.

I am delighted with the hotel. It is 200 metres from the citi near Narbonne gate pa.
The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The shower in the room that has touched me is awesome. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel

Never again to this hotel. They seem to all officials except two. It is not pleasant. Us cost locate it, normal rooms, escasisimos rooms and small. For four star is not. It is a three but very fair. I do not recommend it.

A very good hotel to stay, near beautiful places (Carcassone — Rennes le Chateau) to visit. Good for all.

We were visiting Carcassonne on business and chose the Mercure because it advertised a pool in which to cool down after a days work. When we arrived at the hotel and we were advised that the pool had been demolished to make for extra bedrooms. The rear of the Hotel was a building site with lots of heavy plant and pile drivers operating from 8:00am to 6:00pm, so even relaxing out in the shade was out of the question. The Hotel therefore was expensive for what was on offer, we were not given any reduction for the inconvenience, and to add insult to injury, they tried to double charge us for breakfast (52 euros), then, to top it all, they overcharged us against our quoted price, for the breakfasts we did take.
