As a wheelchair user, I have only had experience with the so-called "disabled" room, which unfortunately cannot get a good rating. Even the hotel entrance is problematic, because it has three steps from the road to the reception. However, the doorman was immediately (really super fast! ) on the spot and put down a ramp, but I couldn't overcome it alone.
We were surprised that the room is opened directly from the foyer and bar, but is not labeled as a hotel room. The door can also be confused with a stairwell — or toilet door. I had to open both wings of the door with my wheelchair, with the second wing having very heavy resistance. Every time I kind of fought my way into it and out again. The room has a single window out onto the rear side of the street and people passing by can see from above into the room if the roller shop is not closed.
The room is painted in dark colours and dark wallpapered, which, along with the barred basement window, makes a very sombre impression. A thick velour carpet provides the wheels with a lot of friction resistance.
The wet cell on the left has a shower table that is passable without a threshold. The mosaic plates, however, conceal a somewhat "hilly" floor, making it difficult to keep the balance with a wheelchair or even with a shower chair. Lavabo is passable. The closet is mounted on the right, but has an extreme height of the seat, which must first be climbed from a wheelchair. The handles to the right and left of the closette are attached to the wall, but I could not use them at all, as I do not have arms for so long. Once sitting on the closet, man/frau no longer gets on water.
The bed width was 80 cm, so for paralyzed extremities rather a narrow slinging on which they can be poorly relocated.
Without help, I could no longer transfer from bed to wheelchair, the height difference was too big and the mattress too soft.
All in all: It's bad and quite usable, but not really "disabled, " it makes a slightly shabby, neglected impression. Since I have no idea how well furnished the other rooms are (they seem brighter and nicer on the website), it seemed to me that people with disabilities just had to be satisfied with less than others in a hotel.
In order to salvage your honour, it must be said that the staff was really always very friendly, helpful and accommodating!
