Fascinating building legend! A bit pricey entrance.

Since first of all the guide took us to the observation deck of the papal garden, this bridge of the 12th century, from which there was a miserable part, we saw one of the first attractions of Avignon. Just a narrow bridge, where two horsemen with difficulty Razyedsya, connected the two shores of the Rhone-French and Provence. That's why he had security, customs and tax collectors. We don't understand the negative reviews. We did not know much about the bridge, we came, we learned, and left educated. This is a well-maintained site, that everyone knows from the song. The audio guide gives more background information that helped us put out Avignon experience in perspective. So happy we visited!

Beautiful view of the old town and the river. And also very cool tells the speaker in the audio guide. Never regretted that they took it. There are Russian language.

Ancient and marvelous Construction. It Is a place in Europe that you have to visit once in life. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and its tranquility.

The bridge is pretty cool and has an interesting history. The audio guide is a must if you want to learn about why the bridge was built. You won't need to spend much time here so make sure to purchase the combination ticket for the bridge and the Pope's Palace. You'll save some money by getting both, and the Palace will take a good amount of time to walk through.

The bridge itself doesn't really offer anything. The traffic underneath is heavy and somewhat disruptive. But the bridge is very close to the Pope's Palace and in combination it is definitely worth a visit. Distance between the two objects is only about 10 minutes on foot.

Wonderful experience. Audio guides are available in English and multiple other languages. It's more that just a bridge. There is a lot of history outlining how people in the middle ages were able to constuct complex bridges before the advent of engineering (i. E. Planning extensively with paper designs). A team of researchers apparently pieced together a digital reconstruction (3D model) over the past few years which was really cool. Worth checking out and the price of admission.

The bridge, which crossed the Rhone for a length of 915 m. Built in the 12th century, was almost completely wiped out by a flood in 1668 and the 22 spans remain only 4.

A different and curious feeling, nice photo zone. A little expensive the price of the entrance but can be taken out combined with the self-guided visit of the papal palace. Advisable Visit.

Such a prosperous town in the past with very high and fortress very tight surrounding. The Pont itself is very beautiful to see and for photography. We climbed that fortress and took some photos from there and on the way down to our car park through the old church /Palace. It was a good exercise for us, lovely.

My Bridge score is for the charm of the environment, the emotional component and the quality of construction, beyond that is a bridge and you can not ignore what you are seeing. The Bridge had its historical importance as a way of trade and cultural opening, the setting is quite a spectacle and in one of the photos you see the depth and how you can have the snow and mountains around. Beautiful, but climbing does not contribute anything, the beauty is in the distance and in the vision of whole, on it is only a bridge of stone. Just as the Papal PALACE is obligatory visit the bridge from the outside is enough. You Can't go to Provence and not see the papal palace and the bridge.

Well, nice but nothing special. Were it not for the song probably no one would go.

From my point of view, overrated. The only thing is that if you buy the joint entrance to the most representative monuments, you come included the entrance to the bridge but otherwise… Nothing interesting.

The place is very nice and interesting; However, the audioguides were defective.

An impressive medieval bridge (or at least what remains of it) which allows you to cross half way into the river. A small, two storey Chapel can be visited on the bridge. There's also a very interesting documentary on how the bridge was built and why part of it collapsed. Well worth adding to a Papal Palace visit tour.

It's a good value when combined with the Palais de Papes and if you know the song; but definitely not must-see by itself.

Nice half bridge, to walk the outside there is a nice road by the Rhone or Rhone River.

Time travel is the closest thing if you go to the historic centre of Avignon. Super recommended, Esquisita City.

It's the most beautiful historical bridge in the world. Romantic great for couples outside but it's so dangerous for children, there is no security side to protect them from sliding.

Enjoyable slow paced town that offers many medieval buildings, beautiful church and the Papal Palace. The bridge is a must see especially if you learned the nursery rhyme ‘Sur le Pont’.

The sung Bridge of Pont Avignon is usually not a visitor to the city escape. It is only partly preserved and accessible, and the astonishing thing is that in the 12th century it was possible to create such a structure in a river. Nevertheless, it is of course a special feeling to stand on and remember chanson.

You can save on entering the bridge. For the money saved instead, buy a small snack and make a picnic on the shore. You can make very nice pictures of the bridge.

It's a must. The Pont d'Avignon is a historic place rich in history and culture. You will learn who was Bénézet and how the bridge is built and why it lacks pieces. Just a few steps from the Popes ' Palace take the pass for the Palais des Papes and the Pont d'Avignon. You'll save some. I highly recommend.

This Bridge is one of the main attractions of Avignon. Entrance for students at a discount, and it is best to take a shared ticket with the Papal Palace. Be Sure to take the audio guide (it is also in the Russian language), otherwise nothing will be clear.

That can't be overlooked. It would be a shame to deprive yourself of this visit if you stop in Avignon. You can even make a round by singing the chorus so well known if you want. Adult rate: €5 in 2017.

Not the most exiting place to see but still great! A bit noises during the day front of a rapid road.

To see. Beautiful in sunny weather. Take the ticket with the visit coupled to the Palais des Papes. Possibility to visit in two times. One day the bridge, another the Palace, or both in 1 time.

The world-famous bridge of Avignon is beautiful from the other side, but it is not worthwhile to enter the bridge.

Amazing place with history connotation. I enjoyed very much because of my French learning when I was a kid. We use to have lessons about situations arro8nd Avignon, and obviously also with the famous song "sur le pont d'Avignon on hi dance, on hi dance… ". Don't miss the Palais Des Papes!

The bridge of Avignon has an interesting history and is visually unique, as the bridge discontinued just over half the way across. However without a guide or prior knowledge one may not know the most interesting facts.

Beautiful medieval bridge, nice audio tour included in price of ticket, access to parts of the cities walls as well, there are some Chapels in the footings of the bridge. You can buy a combo ticket for the bridge and the palace of the Pope's.

The bridge is old but still looking good. Don't miss your time to go on it and take some nice pictures of the sunset. It is a good place to enjoy some fresh air.

My partner is Québécois so he told me about the children's song. I never learned it when I was learning French. But the Pont Saint-Bénézet was a must-see going to Avignon (we were on a cruise excursion) because of the song. Surprisingly the bridge does not completely span the river.

Best to see it from the other side of the river or on the next bridge, so you can capture the reflection of Pont d'Avignon and the mountains behind. Looks like a pretty painting. IG : thearchitectshoots.

I find it fatal that they want to charge for going up to see the bridge. They have everything well assembled, ticket sales, lathe to pass, … And everything to be able to take a picture of the river.

Should have seen. The most beautiful view of the bridge is from the water or from the other side of the river. The best way to take the small ferry is about 500 meters behind the bridge. The Ferry is free!

Nice place, for the history and location, but I find it excessive the price €5 for such a short walk. We were going with a baby carriage, and the elevators were not working so we had to load it up and down. After paying, we were not given receipt or entrance, which we found to be quite odd.

If you want to get on the bridge, you have to be there earlier. The song has followed me since childhood and it was nice to be close — properly visiting would have required a little more planning. Be prepared for the roads being a lot slower — especially in the later afternoon.

Beautiful to look at, but the admission fee was just too high in my opinion, and didn't add anything for me. You are better off sitting on the shore looking at it.

Steeped in history, wonderful to be on the Rhône in summer weather, so to speak. The entrance fee was too expensive.

4 stars… but who gives the stars? Electricity is dangerous in the bungalows toilés (not the standards), manholes dangerous for small children, swimming pool unsupervised (rembarde rocky), trees which are not maintained… during our stay and a big branch fell injuring our neighbor to 23 h… direction of the emergency and arrival of the police and firefighters until 2 in the morning to secure… for the responsible person (on-site at this time) there is no danger of the trees are checked every year… the proof… we asked to be relocated for the night, pending the opinion of an expert in… refusal of the person responsible… it took an engineer of the city of vienna, and oblige the campsite we sleep ds the restaurant. The next day, a corporation of pruning is come to cut down the tree (which was hollow. ). The level of sanitation… toilets (too few) and showers old and not very clean, water warm, the tail is steady for gone to the TOILET. The animation is not the strong point of the camping… and obviously corresponds not to a 4 star. In spite of these negative points, this campsite is very well located. Our welcome was very warm. The people in the restaurants (and waitresses-people behind the bar are always smiling and very listening. Congratulations also to the chef… the "Rougaï" that we tasted was excellent!

Super centrally located, friendly, professional reception. The sanitary facilities are clean, as is the Pool. On the online reservation request was promptly answered. Good Wifi coverage — 12 Euro for 3 days is to expensive.

Very good campsite. Very clean and comfortable. Swimming pool clean. Very close to the Bridge and Town of Avignon. Good walk along the Rhone river.

How can this site display 4 stars?
Managed by the City Hall, this site was taken over by a company for 2 or 3 years.
However, apart from the price, nothing has changed: toilets and showers of 40 years ago, lack of water pressure in the sinks as in some showers, stench and smell of water foul in the toilets but also sceptical pit smells in the aisles, more light in some of these fairways evening (you see zombies armed with torches everywhere) space formerly devoted to the camper vans and caravans shrinks to make room for mobile homes (getting more and thus vacationers have their toilets) … Pool water yellowish,, where it lacks a washing-stand and where everyone jumps without precaution of hygiene (no), evenings none to die… And all of these problems are reported every year and nothing changes.
The proximity of the city for the festival brings us to come back… But right now, it's decided, it became unbearable!
AVOID ABSOLUTELY!

Sanitaries are clean but old and "usable", hot water is available which is seldom in France. I was disappointed about no chance to exit the camping to the city side and to the free boat crossing the river. Means to walk 15min around the whole camping each time you exit the camping. A lot of the environment was in bad condition, at least in june, there should be worked on. Location is good to visit the city by foot.

The campsite is beautifully located in the forest on a Peninsula, however, the plumbing are gewöhnungsbedürfdigt plants.

Stayed for a week in August. If you're lucky, you can be right by the river and see the Pont D'Avignon from your tent! Swimming pool was good, with a bar area in the evenings which was fun.

Camping very well located in front of the bridge of Avignon with a direct access to a free River shuttle. Standard home (not warm). On the other hand, we hear a lot of the road across the Rhone River because of the wind. Bathrooms are aging and are not heated (a bit difficult off season). The restaurant and the shop were closed: too bad. Games for children are very limited and very used. In conclusion, is not worth its 4 star rating.

In a beautiful forest. Sanitary facilities are to be cleaned a little often.

This site is worth only three star and fat to geographical location. Activities and services are not worthy of a four stars. Attention for the mobile home Bill of electricity more and dirty. 30 euros for 1 week. Compare this with the island of the Pope.

Campsite very welcoming. Camping is ventilated with pool and tennis, we're not on each other. The clean. Security is assured and the ideal location to go in town. In short, we had a very good time. I recommend it to you.

Very friendly, safe campsite, good plot for motorhome. Green and shaded with tall trees. Easy access to town by walk or bicycle. Very nice pool, tennis, volleyball. Small bar restaurant onsite, but can be noisy so ask for plots further away, looking at Avignon Pont as I type this (plot116). Can definitely recommend here tho, we came for a night but stayed a week. Only downside is the bar and laundry area could do with lick of paint/modernising. Toilets clean and showers hot, again could needmodernising. Great site.

We are from Australia and we do the motor home holiday. We have stayed here 2 times now the last being in August 2014. This camp is in a great spot with beautiful views across the river. The camp does get busy so I advisevto get there early.

Was in September 2014 on this campsite. Price for motorhome, 2 adults, 1 child was night 21, 95€/. Negative I found: 1. Loud campsite, next to the street noise played in the evening until late in the night a jazz band at the Bar of the campsite, officially retired from 22 at night to do but the campground operator to hold themselves up
2. Many of the pitches feces smell, it smelled like Shit was
3. Sanitary facilities are outdated and in need of renovation
4. The mirror in the washroom to hang low, you can see there as a big man, about 180 cm very well on his belly but to shave you have to bend down
5. The swimming pool is only open from 10:00-19:00, for Early or late float is bad
6. In the swimming pool, the Dirt gathered the bottom of the tank to the suction of the circulation openings of the pump
7. The neighboring property is used as a festival backdrop used with a corresponding Noise
8. The CP has no outlet to the Rhone river. Would like to ride out to the canoe. I should have my boat but 500 meters to the CP to carry around, although my pitch was just 20 meters away from shore. 9. Much does WLAN access cost extra, and in many other CP for free

Positive I found: 1. Short routes to Avignon, free ferry in a few minutes walking distance. 2. Free Internet with 2 computers at the reception

Great place, good facilities though toilets could do better. Very friendly service and close to the city.

Location is great, we have a view of the castle. New owner, they start to upgrade the toilets & other facilities.

We stayed on this page 7 years before and thought that it was very good for such a large plot. This time, however, it was a different story. We stayed for 2 nights and were directed to a part of the site close to reception. There were 2 sanitary buildings in this area, but one was closed for reconstruction. The others only had 3 sit on toilets (also 3 are Crouching) and one of the toilets was closed. The site was very busy, so these 2 toilets were not sufficient. On the first day the shower temperature wildy varied and on the second day, they were also cold. The sanitary block was not too clean. Long stay customers had better facilities on the site.

Very dirty and very cluttered. The only plus point is the very large pitches are also very cheap, will come again.

Dirty showers and bathrooms. Pitch dark zones in some zones of the camping. Poor conservation of the installations, etc…

Sanitary was cleaned only twice or three times a week, no toiletpaper, not even in toilets of restaurant. Not enough toilets. very unfriendly staff in restaurant/bar swimmingpool: no grass or chairs. Large pool, but very undeep. No showers or toilets nearby tentsites: ok, shady.
