Gorgeous Hotel. As we say Old is Gold. Everytime I spend a weekend here I have the same feelings that I live in the past as in the TV series of " Grand hotel ". Amazing view … very polite and helpful staff … very clean rooms. Excellent location. Close to Delice. And very near to Greek marine club. And Santa Lucia restaurant. I enjoyed very much.

An overall wonderful experience combining the charm, beauty and nostalgia of the past with quality service, cordial hospitality and friendly staff. A true gem from the 1920s offering a glimpse into the past but with modern day amenities and services. The hotel enjoys a unique central location overlooking the eastern bay and breathtaking views. It maintains many of its charming original features including small sea front balconies, antique chandeliers and lifts etc. Highly recommended for discerning travelers and guests from Egypt and abroad wishing to enjoy a calm and comfortable stay in Alexandria. You will be delighted!

Historical hotel since 1929. Vast rooms, good service and excellent location at Al Raml Station. I liked it.

One of our favorite hotels in Egypt. Our room was absolutely lovely, with a balcony overlooking a park and the Corniche. Charming, charming decor. Absolutely delightful and accommodating staff. Delicious and generous morning buffet. And the location is perfect for tourists, because much of what you want to see is close by, much of it within walking distance.

Best service. Location is really great. The only thing that bothered me was all transportations were stooping in front of their Cafe, I couldn't see the sea view clearly.

I have an amazing staying over there on last Sept, they offer excellent services that the staff is hurrying up to help you out having a comfortable staying without any tiny obstacles. What I have enjoyed the most was the breakfast time besides the marvelous view by the Mediterranean sea every single morning. I updated my review as I visited Cecil again after a year has passed since I wrote this review, their service is still The greatest, staff is so friendly, the accommodations is more than comfortable and cozy. Keep the fire up.

Overall not a bad hotel, food's quality was ok, cleanliness of room was fine, balcony is not spacious at all probably due to the old design, staff is very friendly. Didn't get much value for the money really. Street's noise will get you once you open the windows.

A classic stay in a gorgeous hotel. The hotel is an old building with renovations of all its amenities. With two cafe lounges and a night club, you can enjoy a relaxant stay. It is not meant for a seaside enjoyment, but for a lovely royal place to stay. In the middle of Alexandria city, you can reach any place in it very easily and comfortably.

This hotel located in the heart of Alexandria. The history of the hotel is the best part of it. Otherwise there is a lack of management. The people at the entrance are lacking in attitude. Not the policeman, but the one who secures the bags. Keeping telling people happy new year repeatedly which means give me money. We were planning to have a cup of tea at the cafe. But couldn't stay.

Restaurant "The garden" to avoid. Service a bit outdated while there were 10 guests. Overpriced drinks, mojitos without rum…

Steigenberger Cecil Hotel is av fantastic old hotel in a very central location in Alexandria. The historic hotel with its neo_Islamic style offers different size rooms with renovated antique furniture. The visitors can enjoy dinning in the restaurant with its nice view overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and one of the most famous squares in Alexandria,

Good old Victorian style German hotel with a great sea view. Good options for breakfast and is located right on the seafront. The location is such that it's accessible from nearby famous local shops. Though keep in mind it's old style built is early 90s, well maintained but the rooms can be dimly lit.

Very friendly staff, great Breakfast services but the security staff can be a bit thick some times, good luck if you don't speak a wink of Arabic. The rooms are great but it feels like 2004 in the room. You have a shower/bath which is both cases of staying and in different rooms were light yellow (Iron build up), the shampoos given are laughable (so small) ; the TV has about 60 channels which vary from Arabic or English. It has a stocked Minibar which can be restocked but the food feels old and is expensive, I would just recommend going to small store right next to the hotel. Beautiful view from the 4th floor and in a prime piece of Alexandria.

Great old hotel with old style flair. The breakfast buffet is very good! It is served from 6-10am and comes with an overnight stay. Our room was clean and tidy. And came with everything you need in a hotel. If you don't like a noisy sleep environment this hotel is probably not for you. Even though the windows block a lot of the traffic noise and constant honking, it doesn't filter all of it. The view however is phantastic If your room faces the harbour.

I go there to eat on the rooftop terrace, Chinese restaurant, the view is superb, very affordable price, and the two lifts are just beautiful, wrought iron, very soft and quiet.

Although rooms are good and well serviced but the lobby and entrance even elevator all are so classic and you just feel yourself at hotels of 1960 period which we used to watch on movies.

This is one of the most wonderful hotels I have ever been at. The service of all its working people is amazing and very professional. I highly recommend it for whom want pleasure and comfort. Thank you so much.

Historical hotel that exists in the heart of the old downtown of the city of Alexandria. Recently re-inovated and braded as Steigenberger. Have the eldest chinese restaurant in alexandria also on the top floor overlooking the sea.

Reception Service not that good Very delayed service in check in and rooms' type not as requested Location is good, however surrounding buildings are very close and noisy. It better to avoid opening the windows unless it is clearly facing the sea (not sea side view! ) Rooms' furniture and decorations are good.

One of the oldest hotels in town, it's located just in heart of Alexandria's downtown area. Rooms is an old style look, yet it's renewed and air conditioned. There is different overlooking rooms, the best is of course the sea side one.

Without parking, can not even stop in front to unload the luggage.

Very charismatic and nice building. Large rooms, clean. Negative is the slow internet and the lack in international TV channels. Breakfast is also not really good.

Unique experience in this hotel despite it is not a five star rated. Old and feel history of Royal Alexandria.

It's an excellent place to have some of relaxed time in its coffee shop.

Old world charm in an amazing location. Great views from the rooms (even with partial sea view). Water pressure in shower is ordinary. Smoke fills the reception and hallways as with most Egyptian hotels so German efficiency can't seem to break that … Breakfast was good. Kept running out of juice of course. And coffee was non existent on day 3 of the stay. Service friendly from one waiter, silent yet efficient from the others. A friend told us there is a Chinese restaurant on the roof (after we left) but the hotel didn't promote it at all. Room attendant refilled our coffee pods (junior suite) with decaf! Obviously not a coffee drinker themselves lol.

My experience there was amazing. Every one of the staff is cheerful and helpful. The room is big and super clean with an excellent view. The open buffet breakfast is very good and contains various items. I strongly recommend this place for a nice stay in Alexandria.

If you're in love with classic mood in hotels, so this is the best place for you go stay in … All decorate style is classic back to 1915 and maybe more old, also hotel is clean, friendly staff with amazing view of the sea that you can see from all sides. Mini bar is there too and fine restaurant in the roof top of the hotel.

Highly recommended to stay in, it's in one of the best places in Alexandria (Mehattet Er-Raml), from there you can go to most famous Full and Ta'meya Restaurent in Alexandria in only 10 min (Mohammad Ahmed Restaurent), and you can go walking through the town for shopping (Good shops for clothes, food and Cinemas). The Hotel itself is high and the food is very fine. And the cafe in the lobby is so much satisfying and has a good view on the square.

Best hotel near the down city mehatet el ramel best place to shopping and eat and go cinema or walk on the medetrinian shore.
