So happy we found this place. Other hotel we found online looked great. The reality was different. Called Renaissance and were treated so well. My dad has cancer. They were very accommodating. Beautiful property and clean large and rooms are amazing. Highly recommend it if someone online looking for quality without $$$$ budget 4 star hotel for sure.

I didn't stay there, but I visited somebody who was on the top floor in the penthouse. Obviously, it was incredible, huge, and beautiful. Very funky, fun furniture with modern and colorful design. Great location right near the beach.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Jaragua for the ITU Capacity Building Symposium last month and I have to say I was incredibly impressed with the country, it's people and specifically the staff and service during my stay. Everything was most certainly 5 stars and even though I was away for business the staff made me feel like I was at home. If I find myself in the Santo Domingo area again I will definitely stay at the Jaragua.

I stayed here from Wed to Sunday in June 2018. It was paid for, but it is not expensive at all. I really liked this Hotel. The rooms are huge, probably twice the size of the Hotel rooms we have in the US. Nicely maintained, everything works, even TV has live news feeds from the US like CNN etc. Breakfast was included in my booking. Oh man, breakfast is nothing like what you see here in the US. This is top of the line breakfast. There is a guy who stands there and takes orders to make Omelette. While he's making that, you go through the rest of the buffet, all kinds of food, hot and ready. They even have oatmeal, which I happen to like. Let me just put it this way: This is first class breakfast, not your typical hotel breakfast. The Hotel pool is also out of this world with an attached bar serving ridiculously tasty Mojito. If you feel like gambling, there is a Casino attached to the Hotel, just open the door and walk in. I loved it. Picture you see is as soon as you walk out of the hotel, you see the water, Ocean. Ridiculously beautiful.

If I could give 10 start I would. Love everything about this place, hospitality, service, entertainment, staff.

My stay here has been awesome checked into an ABNB when I first arrived. Should have come here from the beginning. Great staff clean rooms and good food what more can you ask for. Don’t forget the ocean view from the swimming pool. ❤️❤️❤️

Great renovation and attentive staff. Breakfast lacked variety. Was charged an additional fee to stay in the main building. Overall we had a nice stay.

I was at the party theater. Very comfortable and well-decorated place. Exceptional service. The parking is small for the demand of attendees to this theatre, having to park in nearby streets.

Very nice hotel, the layout is wonderful. The staff is very professional when you arrive at the hotel. But, If you’re looking for a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere don’t come here. I booked a room for 3 days and 2 nights. Someone knocked on my door at least 3 times during the day each day. Someone even knocked on my door at 1 in the morning about my tab at the bar which I requested them to charge to my room. If there was a problem why didn’t they just call. Someone knocked once and just let herself in and I was undressed. Also the restaurant prices are incredibly expensive. I don’t think I would stay here again.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel when visiting Santo Domingo for a work training. The staff were very considerate and friendly. Great pool area! Rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious. Get there early because it can become busy near the end of breakfast time.

Great hotel! Beautiful settings and great location. Close to everything and wonderful staff. The restaraunt serves very good food and the prices are reasonable. The best part of this hotel is they don't allow chapiadoras to come in and scam the Gringos.

I attended a concert recently, at the hotel Jaragua and the truth is that at least in the matter of the box office there was poor organization. When I go to the theatre to a full house I see that it is super uncomfortable to move through, around, to ask something to the waitress, etc… despite of this while I walked the hotel I could see that it is very beautiful and that has an architecture really admirable, that evokes grandeur, luxury, and power… not for nothing is the home of diplomats. I attended a concert recently, in the theater, Jaragua and the truth that at least in the scare of the ticket office there was bad organization. When I enter the theater a full house I see that it is super uncomfortable to walk in, get mobilized, ask for something from the waitress, etc … Despite this while touring the hotel I could see that it is very beautiful and has a really admirable architecture, which evokes greatness, luxury and power … not for nothing is the seat of diplomats.

Very good option when you choose the comfort and good quality, has a good casino with live music and com good drinks at the bar, the swimming pool is excellent… the rooms spotless and very comfortable, especially the bed! what I recommend.

Located in the privileged location of the beautiful George Washington Avenue, right in front of the Caribbean Sea is this fabulous hotel, which has a long history of excellent attention and quality. Among its attractions is its proximity to numerous tourist attractions, cultural centers and the colonial area, the city's number one historical attraction.

It is a very cosy hotel and suitable not only to stay, but also its facilities are suitable for all kind of events (in my case, I went to a conference and gave excellent). The food is very good as are the entertainment staff.

Great Hotel, clean room. Personnel is attentive. Pool was great thou a little small. Food prices are very steep compare to nearby restaurants. The parking attendant can help with directions for the nearest restaurants and food market (colmado).

The event hall is large and comfortable. I have gone to iron girls events and the backstage is very wide.

Not so cozy for large crowd activities the theater.

We had 4 wunderfull day s in the hotel. Pablo and Keddy are very lovely persons from the hotel, all peopel are really friendly and helpfull. I think we stay an orher time there.

Excellent hotel. Everything about this place just oozes opulence. The way it looks and all the details. I loved my stay here for 3 nights. It was amazing. Drinks at the bar with Lenny (lady), mixed up some amazing cocktails and suggested some new good ones. The restaurant is very good with some good local options. I had a massage at the spa and that was imcredible. This place deserves 5 stars as I dont have a single complaint. You wont be sorry you stayed here when in the Dominican Republic. Thanks guys you rocked.

Strange place with a rare mix of environments. It wants to capture a wide audience but it ends up attracting disoriented tourists. Correct rooms. The best their unspeakable meringue Bar and with that is all said.

Facade Elegance, medium restaurant with some very insistent servers, hot water with little flow and English is insufficient.

Everyone at the hotel was great. We had an awesome view from the tower and a great sunset every night. The spa was very relaxing as was the pool. It is a great location for visiting the old city but very far from the beaches.

Great service, wonderful rooms, splurge for the VIP pass for breakfast and definitely spend some time chilling by the pool. Room service at night was kind of limited, but it was still good. We were there with our literal ENTIRE family and everyone enjoyed it.

It is the most important hotel of the national district, very comfortable, good service, a cozy place, with different areas of entertainment, besides that it has halls of events where countless activities of great national importance have been held and International. Recommended.

Sóli I visited the conference room for two days. The place was spacious and cozy. Excellent service.

Good hotel super friendly staff that make sure you have a good time. No beach absolutely no beach nearest one is a 45 min drive. This is well hidden by the pics and fact that hotel shows up near the ocean but anyone with some knowledge of dr will tell you no beach.

Nice, large and well-kept hotel. Felt nicer than most new American hotels. Hotel has a casino and at least two bars. A friend staying with me got a message in the spa, and it was good enough to get another the next day, and wasn't expensive. There is also a gym and a comfortably warm pool. The continental breakfast had an excellent and changing variety of freshly made food and fruit and fruit drinks. Restaurant quality or better, nothing like a holiday inn continental breakfast I'm used to. I won't consider other hotels if I go back to that area.

Good food, constable Meeting rooms, recent remodel bathroom looks good. I can say this is a great place for companies Meeting and stay for a couple of days, the room service and people treat is by far one of the best in Santo Domingo. Highly recommended for everyone.

Easily the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Went to Las Terrenes for my honeymoon which is northern part of the country. Hurricane Irma was supposed to hit there so we went south to Santo Domingo. This hotel took so many precautions to ensure guests were safe and comfortable. Aside from that the service, the food, the property, and the people were all amazing. We were treated like king and queen and will for sure come back here if we are ever in DR. Not over exaggerating when I say hands down best hotel ever stayed at. The people that work there from the bell boys to front desk to the management all amazing.

Nice place but quality of food at old Jaragua was much better. Room too noisy when event in saloon. Aircondioning not working efficient at night. Staff good service.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived the service was great. The view from our rooms were awesome. I am more than happy to have stayed at this luxurious hotel. I would suggest rubber mats for all the showers. Because of the slope I found it quite dangerous. Other than that you have an amazing Hotel and great staff. Breakfast buffet was really good, pool was beyond nice, didn't like the Casino, it was only pesos and I didn't understand the machines. Coffee was great at the Cafe by the pool exit, souvenirs were very expensive in the gift shop but the service in there was great. Security made me feel safe… key cards for elevators and the men around the property, even throughout the night, made me feel sure that my family and I were safe and in good hands. This hotel is simply incredible. The property is extremely well kept, the staff from top to bottom is super polite and many spoke at least some English and they all tried to help me with my Spanish. Our garden view room was very comfortable. The spa, coffee shop, pool, etc are perfect. The food at the restaurant is very good — we ordered from it and at the pool side and everything tasted good and was not overly expensive. We are home now and I am still blown away by this experience!

Having stayed at numerous Hotels/Resorts throughout my vacation. I am glad we chose Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua to end our vacation. It offered an experience closer to home than I imagined, and was perfect for that transition back to life after vacation. We were able to unwind and almost felt as if we were already back in the states. Customer service was excellent, everything from check in to check out was a breeze. The restaurant in the Lobby area offered fantastic service, food, and drinks. Everyone from the valet to grounds personnel were very attentive to their tasks. Hotel was spotless and maintaining a presentable appearance was of top priority. Staff members recommended some great restaurants outside of the Hotel in the immediate vicinity. Being from the country and travelling well beyond this region I did not expect such great food so close, then again the "Malecon" strip in which the hotel is located has always been well known for its amazing restaurants. The rooms were enormous and super clean, bed was very comfortable and room in general had everything you could need and room service should you need more. Only thing I found odd was on our check out day, hotel staff came to our room, asked if we used anything in the mini fridge and entered the room to look in the fridge and verify.

This rating is for the renewed hotel. What can I say besides the hotel is well located and has an all you can eat service for business rooms. The new rooms are great and the prices are excellent.

An oasis in the middle of the chaos that is downtown Santo Domingo. I can usually find something to critique about any place, but I have literally nothing bad to say about this hotel. Modern, clean, spaces with professionally-installed fixtures (rare for the DR). Friendly staff, beautiful design indoors and outdoors. Wi-Fi strong and fast everywhere. This place is simply awesome.

Clean hotel with very nice pool. The hot tubs are in the spa and don't seem to be working. The restaurant and pool bar are very expensive. You have to pay extra for breakfast and water bottles in room (when you can't drink the water this is a rip off — especially for a Marriott). Overall the hotel is nice, ok restaurants and bars around this area. You have to walk through some less nice neighbourhoods to get to the historical cathedral and fort. There are no beaches in santo Domingo, so if you are looking for that don't stay here (go to boca Chica)!

Hygiene, care of the staff in the hotel and restaurant, especially Marlene and Laura are excellent, the guests safety is number one, recommend it b for a rich stay in Santo Domingo.

This place is little welcome, and the gatekeepers make it all a drama. But to give an honest opinion, I only tried to attend the place only once, yesterday Saturday 31st Oct. Halloween and even them, there in Jaragua, celebrating activity, not allowed to the group with which I was and my getting to have painted faces.
Anyway, so he can enjoy it surely will be a solid experience.
