It was a nice experience. I went with my two other friends and we were very satisfied! Very friendly employees, good prices in the bar, cozy and chill environment. Good location, possibility to leave stuffs in paid locking room 10dkk per hour or 50dkk/ 24hours. Only minus is the cleanliness of the shared Bathroom which were quite disgusting. I would recommend this place and I will definitely come again. Good price for a good service ☺️.

DON’T RENT A BIKE THERE!
I went for a night with friends and we decided to rent bikes for 24 hours, they charged us 110 kr for each bike, when we went to pick them up it was really difficult to choose them because all of them were in an awful condition, we took three on them and just two blocks away, when we were crossing an avenue my friend’s rear wheel got completely stuck almost having an accident. We went back immediately to the reception to return the bikes and ask for a refund since the bikes were not only difficult but dangerous, and we were told we should send them an email asking for the refund. Since there, it’s been three weeks sending emails without and answer and trying to phone call them without an answer.

Really customer oriented staff. Thank you.

I think it's great hostel and the fact that the hostel has a bar make it even better, however there is no free luggage room as it is with all other hotels and hostels.

Everything is so beautiful … The team members are wonderfully warm, cheerful, hospitable.
So everyone I recommend if you come to this city choose this hotel you will not regret…

As a person traveling in a large group this may have played a factor into the experience I had here but nonetheless I feel I need to share. First of all, the hostel is a party hostel so do not plan on getting a good night of sleep. I tried ear plugs and that does not work at all. Second, some of people in my group experienced random people coming into their room with a key that worked when the front desk said that could not be possible. Due to loudness in the hostel my group got additional rooms but turned out we could not get into one of them after using the master card and key. Third, they advertise free dinner and a kitchen that you can use online and in some of the rooms on posters but that is not true at all. Lastly, we also found bed bugs in one of the rooms. We tried to get a refund for our very unsatisfied experienced but were refused any sort of compensation for everything that we had to deal with. Do not stay here. There are cheaper hostels in Copenhagen.

Amazing hostel! Fantastic atmosphere. Spotless shower and toilet. Stayed in a private room for 4 people and it was brilliant. Comfy beds and large storage space under beds. Very helpful staff and a great stay! Will be going back!

GREAT place! I was a solo traveler and it was very easy to meet people in the bar area. Happy hour had good deals and a fun vibe (live music a few nights a week). In a good location to a lot of the main attractions of Copenhagen. Rooms were good and the beds were nicer that what I am used to in a hostel. Only area of improvement would be the bathrooms — they were small with only one sink/mirror.

I would recommend this place. Great location! We stayed in 4-person room on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and basic. There was a sink and storage areas by it. There’s an elevator. It was noisy and lively on the weekend at the bar downstairs. There is a charge if you need to rent towels or buy a lock. The bathrooms and showers were down the hall. They were simple, but clean. The coffee downstairs is not at all good but there are great spots nearby.

Really cool vibe! Great budget deal for young adults. Located right in the city center and easy to get everywhere. The bar is fun on weekends, some locals actually go there. The lounge is really nice during the day and a great place to relax and chill. Hostel was good for meeting others and socializing. The bartender told me they redid the main area last year and it’s apparently a lot better than it used to be. I was on the fifth floor and the rooms were pretty quiet at night to sleep. Although I think for lower floors it might be a little louder. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were not the best but they weren’t bad either. One thing to note is that there’s no actual kitchen, but they’ll store your food and warm it up for you as needed, and provide plates/cutlery from the bar. The service was pretty good and the staff were willing to help out when needed. Highly recommend this place!

It's a really cool place with a strong bohemian vibe, the people are friendly and fun. It also has an ideal location in Copenhagen that is close to a lot of attractions. However, compared to other hostels, it could be cleaner and a few of the workers could be friendlier. Don't eat the lasagna tho, it's not worth it.

Located literally smack dab in the middle of everything. This location was the perfect hub, almost all the touristy locations like museums, castle, boat tours, etc. Were all in walking distance (some further than others of course) and very close to different bus spots that can take you to the further destination. What's nice about this hostel is the bar/lounge area, where it can get very lively especially when they have live music. Beds were pretty much standard of what you would expect from a hostel. They have storage lockers located at the bottom of your bunk. (locks not included) If you want to save a few bucks on food definitely take advantage of the breakfast buffet in the morning. It's not free, but it's definitely more affordable than going to a restaurant, plus you can eat your fill. Being American the modest portion size of Denmark restaurants can cause you to leave hungry.

Ever wondered what I would feel like to sleep in a bed placed in the middle of a club? Well, at Copenhagen Downtown Hostel you get exactly that. Thin walls and a room placed right above the hotels own club. Check inn in the club. Absolutely horrible place to sleep. If I want to go clubbing, there is plenty of other and better options right next to us. If you decide to stay, prepare yourself for the only slightly dated party remix and the base rocking the bed…

This place is right in the middle of the best part of Copenhagen. Walking distance from the central station and Strøget shopping area. This place has a wonderful chill vibe. They have a bar downstairs which has live music and the receptionist and bartenders are really nice. The rooms and bathrooms are super clean. Overall a very good experience and superb value for money. Will definitely stay here again when travelling to Copenhagen.

This was a great hostel! Very clean, friendly staff, good discounts on food and drink. The atmosphere of the bar is very cozy and welcoming. We hadn't planned to party but couldn't resist once we arrived.

Very good location A few steps from the stroget but I found it very uncomfortable the room. The bathroom in the room was very uncomfortable as it turns into a huge shower enclosure, flooding it.

Good environment. Comfortable beds, Clean washroom. Nice bar service. Stuffs are well behaved. Very nice outside sitting arrangement. Good location. A bit pricey yet a very good option to stay in Copenhagen.

Terrible laughter. Many hidden charges, administrators constantly try to cheat you and suck as much money is not clear for what! The conditions are very bad, the rooms are dark. To put the luggage in the storage chamber you have to pay 20 CZK, what-to take another 10 CZK? But the most horrible thing is, that at night the Hostal turns into a nightclub, the music plays very loudly, I am up to 4.00 am could not sleep. Very not recommend here to stay. Better invest for a cheap hotel, the money will come out the same.

Rob guests, the administration asks for money as a deposit for the lock for the locker and the towel, and the money then refuses to return.
The music on the first floor yelled at the entire hostel to 4.00 in the morning.
The food is terrible, in my eyes two girls poisoned…
In general, the hostel-full sucks!

Luxury environment good staff almost all speak Spanish and English the cheapest beer in Copenhagen.

Great location for and Hostel, right in the center of the city with easy access to key point of the capital. Staff is very friendly and there are lots of opportunity to socialize in the common area in the ground floor. In fact, I was travelling alone and met few people, we exchange ideas and advises about what to visit. Quality vs price = good!

Ideal to spend a few days if you go with colleagues, has a very cool place to party, the room has bathroom, eye, bathroom and at the same time shower… Which is different than bathroom with shower. Instead of lamp there is a shower and you can get wet cepillandote your teeth or l washing your hands. Otherwise that, only recommended for party friends and already… For that perfect plan. I do not repeat.

Youth environment site for. Have a few beers in the center of Copenhagen. Happy Hour is very worthwhile because for 50 Danish krone you have a juicy litrito of good Danish beer. The kitchen closes at 20:00h.

Clean room and tidy, new bathrooms. Very good central location. You can reach all the sights on foot and very well in the bar from the hostel breakfast as well as dinner.
You can spend the evening well in the bar and the staff is also nice.

It's a good hostel to stay in. But, on the fifth floor in a mixed room we've had no ventilation, even though the window was open the smell was horrible. The music was not loud where we were staying, there were no issues with that. The only real issue was with the toilets. They have no sinks, so to wash your hands you need to open the toilet, go up to your room, touch the handle and then open up your locker to get soap if you don't have in out and then you can actually wash your hands. Staff seem like nice individuals. I would stay here again but rather choose private dorm.

Hostel clean and as described. At the reception there is also a bar/pub with discounts for guests very welcome. Only flaw the bathrooms of Ben 2 floor on 5 are not accessible.

A great place to stay as well as visit. Always a lot of young people from many different places and countries which just facilitates a great atmosphere and an almost guaranteed nice time! Well accommodated within it's category, great central location, decent rooms and a great bar.

This place is not ideal. I’ll start with the good. The rooms are nice, and the storage systems are smart and spacious if you have your own lock. The showers are alright, too. Sleeping doesn’t come easy. The pillows are strangely stiff and uncomfortable, and if you want to sleep in past 10:30, too bad. You’ll be awakened by the cleaning lady barging in with her roaring vacuum. I don’t think there’s a single place you can go to sanitize/dry your hands. There are just lonely sinks scattered about. If you want a calm place to make a phone call from in the evening, good luck finding one. There’s a lounge, but it’s glued to the noisy bar. If you’re looking for their fully-equipped kitchen, you won’t find it. They got rid of it, which is something they don’t tell you until you arrive. Want their “free dinner”? You’ll have to pay 40 krona first. This isn’t the worst place I’ve stayed at, but I’m not impressed. I don’t like being lied to. Perhaps somewhere online they put out a memo about some of these policies changing, but the ceiling of my room literally stated that there are amenities that there actually aren’t. If your options are limited, this isn’t the worst stay in the world, but I wouldn’t recommend it. I wouldn’t stay here again, at least the way it currently is.

Nice, small hostel in the central area of Copenhagen. For the traveller who does not have the highest demands on the room and the bathroom, everything else is more than recommended. The rooms are very narrow and long drawn. The rooms were very tidy and clean. The common areas on the ground floor were well attended and you could sit in front of the Windows and watch the hustle and bustle in the evening. That's what I want in other hostels too. Bicycles can be rented on site, which can also be safely put off again. A special highlight is the joint dinner, which is offered every day. According to the motto first come, first serve, a small meal is spent here, which the guests of the hostel can meet. The breakfast I can recommend also is quite sufficient to start the day sensibly.

The bar is nice OS the hostel has no hostel atmosphere. There is no common sector beyond the bar and there is no kitchen. The rooms are boys.

Visited Downtown Hostel back in October. I was there over their Halloween festivities. Downtown hostel is the perfect place to stay in Copenhagen! Whether your a group or a solo traveller, no matter what, youll meet somebody! I went as a solo, and met amazing people from all over the world. New Zealand to Ireland, and also made friends with a group of Swedish who were on a university trip! Downtown hostel has an excellent bar, with friendly staff who were always there if you were lost or had a question! The bar is also open till 5am so I’d only stay if you’re a party animal! The music isn’t overly loud late on though, the place is respectful to know that their guests are sleeping and having busy days! They had happy hour on drinks and overall wasn’t expensive! I spent most of my nights there. Location — could not be more perfect! I walked everywhere. From the airport, the metro is linked to the airport so you can’t get lost and it was a straight through ride, with very little stops. From this, I used my phone map to get me to the hostel which only took 10minutes. And from then on, I walked everywhere with a paper map and never got lost! I do recommend a day on a bike, riding down the prom and seeing the little mermaid and visiting Copenhagen Street Food!

Very good sleeping for 10 people. Great breakfast. Mixed showers: Some burning and other jellies. Good bar with a good atmosphere, concert some evenings.

Hostel or bar, you have to choose. The 2 is not possible. Can't sleep, woke up at 2:00 in the morning by the pockets.
If you're just looking for a bed, friend traveler goes your way, if you want to party, you are in the right place.

Great hostel we were 4 in a private dormitory the beds are very comfortable and clean! They also make bar so ambiance to meet you every night and so a lot of noise in the night down the street deco to the top!

Great overall experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is absolutely charming and helpful. The reception room is very cozy. There's a bar in it and many tables and comfy seats for the clients to enjoy 24/7. Very close to downtown Copenhagen (The name isn't a scam) and to the train station/bus station. Only thing that's not right is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. But since it's functional, it's not that big a deal.

Price very attractive staff very competent, friendly and especially multi-languages very well located small problem of heating bathroom not at all comfortable.

It's a good place to stay if you're in a budget. The staff is really nice and helpful. The bar has a good selection of drinks and there's a happy hour starting at 8pm. At 18:30 a free shared Christmas dinner is served (im not sure if there's free shared dinner on other dates beside December). Beds are comfy. However, the bar is open till late night so it's a little bit noisy. I've stayed in a 10 bed room. Sometimes at night someone turned the general light on waking me up.

This was one of the worst hostel experiences of my life. I'll start by saying the staff were all really nice and friendly, but that is about the only positive thing I have to say about this hostel. The rooms are narrow and make you feel like you're in a subway. The beds are hard and uncomfortable with no privacy at all. The personal lights on the bed were like flood lights so if anyone turned theirs on everyone would wake up. The club downstairs blasted music until 5AM, even on weekdays. It was so loud I could never get to sleep. You then have to check out at 10AM, only a couple short hours after they finally shut up. The showers are ice cold and disgusting. The first night there was vomit all over one of the showers and toilet. There is mold and mildew in every bathroom and shower. The lockers below the beds are very poorly designed. I read previous reviews and am very confused as to why people like this hostel. If this is the best hostel in Copenhagen, I weep for you Copenhagen. And if this is the standard of cleanliness in Copenhagen, I am very sad I ate any food here. Unless you are young and drunk all the time, I advise you find another place to stay.

Good location, nice facilities but not the typical hostel feel… It's a bit too large for that in my mind. Staff are helpful and friendly enough but feels more like a hotel with distant staff.

10 o'clock has to check out, the toilet small can not be small, even the paper is the cheapest. There are iron racks beside the bed. It's almost.

Wow. I didn’t stay here but my friend did, and I was impressed. I spent more time in the bar area and I loved the indoor and outdoor options. Plus the drink specials were pretty good; I recommend ordering beer instead of the mixed drinks though. It’s a very social hostel and the girl who checked in my friend was super sweet. I also loved the tour that leaves from this hostel because I feel like a gave me a great sense of Copenhagen. I would recommend this place and stay here if I were to come back.

The rooms and amenities are some of the best I've ever seen in any hostel. Clean rooms, spacious and numerous showers and toilets, and six beds to a room is nice. If you're also looking to party or drink it is a fantastic environment for such as they have a DJ, fully stocked bar, and regular events. However, if you're looking for a more peaceful or quiet stay there isn't really any place to have quiet here and in my limited experience patrons tend to stay up late and enter rooms noisily (likely on account of the booze and partying). All-in-all a very great hostel unless you're looking for low key.

If you are looking for tranquility This is definitely not your hostel. Lots of atmosphere and young people, has an hour happy hour. As a counterpart I could say that there are no sheets, just the pillow without cushion and a quilt.

In the very centre of Copenhagen. Location's a 10. They have double rooms with private WC TB, small and just but no need anymore. The bad thing that every night you have full music until the early morning.

Location is great in heart of old Town near many tourist sites. Restaurant and bar are good. Has a lift for rooms but not for basement locker area. Had private room that was clean, bathroom was small. Good choice especially for younger travelers.

Great rooms, bad bathrooms. In General I recommend it because it is not bad and it is one of the cheapest but they should definitely fix the bathroom situation.

It's OK for the price, there is good atmosphere and the people are quite friendly. The rooms are shared bunks, the bar is OK and the location is central to go after downtown.

No Wi-Fi in the room. Broken elevator for 3 days, room on the 5th floor, on the second day we would have to change rooms, and our request to stay on a lower floor was ignored!

It's a huge hostel, very friendly and easy to meet people. Multiple free walking tours where you can meet people and continue exploring after the tour with them. Large lockers under bunk beds are plenty big enough, and you will need your own lock.

Very good Hostel! Room small but clean and functional. The shower/toilet is not great but fulfilled its role! A great location and a very good atmosphere.

Hands down the best place for young backpackers to stay in Copenhagen. Awesome parties in the lobby bar, free dinner every night if you book online. Lots of cool people, great location. It may not be the cleanest place but it is worth it to stay here for the energy of the guests.

Great location, right in the centre of Copenhagen (Tivoli at 5 minutes, channels 10 minutes…) for not too expensive (€50 per person per night).
On the other hand, do not be afraid of promiscuity and shared showers, hostel what…

About the only good thing about this hostel is its location, although if you are looking for a party hostel with no sleeping and have plenty of money to spend on their expensive and substandard food (they have NO kitchen facilities for anyone wanting to self cater) then you might find it ok. The bar stays open until 5 am at which time drunken noisy fuckwits will invade your dorm. The toilet to guest ratio is shocking, expect to queue, especially in the morning, also expect to get your feet wet as the toilets double as showers. Generally the staff were nice, but this doesn't make up for all the rest. Take my advice, don't go there.

Easy to reach and in great location. Friendly and helpful staff, the property is practically in the center and close to points of interest. Clean rooms but shared bathrooms by real hostel! I would recommend it for those looking for a good priced room.

Great hostel in the center of the city. Might seem a bit pricy but it's very much in line with the prices in Copenhagen. The bar is a good place to hang out even if you're not staying in the hostel, you'll always find some locals there as well. When I stayed here 2 years ago the rooms and facilities were quite nice, and I wouldn't expect that to have deteriorated.

This is more of a hostel, in the evening you can have fun even without going out always offer entertainment, the breakfast is great and at a good price!

A great hostel right in the heart of downtown Copenhagen. Musical entertainment in the evenings, rooms extremely clean and quiet. Buffet breakfast very generous and at will. Nice prices.

The Hostel is located in a relatively central location and most of the large tourist attractions are within walking distance from the hostel. The double privates are nicely sized and have a good view of the street below. The 24 hour bar is nice and serves breakfast (for a fee) and has a shared dinner for all of its guests that is included in the price. The bathrooms are a little bit small but no problem to use. The staff are very friendly and have people working there from all kinds of places around the world. I would definitely recommend this hostel for anyone looking for a relatively cheap stay in the heart of Copenhagen.

I had high expectations concerning our stay at the hostel based on the reputation it has. Unfortunately it couldn't convince me though.
To begin with the positive things, the location of the hostel is perfect, really central, we could walk everywhere! The staff was also really friendly, besides of the fact that they forgot to give back the ID of my friend when we checked in. Luckily we recognized it and got it back but it didn't seem like they would've informed us themselves.
Concerning the food, the breakfast is good, kind of expensive though. The dinner was claimed to be free but in the end we had to pay 40 DK.
The kitchen is very very small and there is only one refrigerator, I don't know how the stuff from everyone is supposed to fit in there, especially when the hostel seemed to be fully booked.
The rooms were okay, not really big but okay if you are not spending too much time there. The amount of the bathrooms and toilets for one floor is ridiculously small, also no single toilets, so you basically always get wet feet. In the mornings there was always a huge queue.
And as a last thing, the bar is nice and you can meet great people there. The music was sometimes really to loud to still be able to communicate with others.
You even have to pay per hour for the lockers if you wanna leave your luggage there. Normally the hostel keeps it for you for free.

In this hostel atmosphere and everything is done to ensure that people would not appear. Here the breakfast for CZK 65, there's a free dinner if in advance to take place. When people gather at the table that most often starts spontaneous interaction with people from all over the world. The same evening from 8-9 a litre of beer for a ridiculous price 50 kč. There are nastolki and live music on Saturday (not caught). For part of their stay-at this price is pretty good. Often cleaned in the shower, but there's quite cold in the winter.

We got invited to a free NYE dinner from the hostel facebook page, with the promise of free food. After having spent a lot of money in beers with my friends, a long queue and waiting. I am said from the hotel manager Henri that the food is just for hostel members, which was absolutely not mentioned in any part of the event. Above this he said that even call the police would not help cause he has friendship with the police officers of that area.

Copenhagen Downtown hostel was simply the best hostel I have stayed in so far. I recommend it and here is why: The staf is really friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and power inlets are nearby the beds. The facilities were great and very clean + possible to use showers from other floors in the morning (as the showers were shared for a floor) which reduce the waiting time consequently! The bar part is enjoyable with a nice atmosphere and the basement is cool to chill out! The breakfast was good though I personaly missed some vegetables (Red/yellow Pepper, tomatoes, and cucumbers could be nice to have) If I m coming back to copenhague someday, I know where I will stay!

It's was alright, as long as you're a heavy sleeper, or else you'd won't be able to sleep. Get ear plugs. If you're a night shower person like me, lucky you, no long queues for the showers. If you're a morning person, tough luck.

Quiet, clean, comfortable, the oldest city:) friendly and helpful staff. Take double room-towels included (and writes for money). Good Wi-Fi. Good prices (relatively) on food and beer. There are big discounts, and a free dinner (comes in 18.0000 to catch).

The bar is great. The hostel is terrible. It's hot, overcrowded, devoid of plugs, and so loud that sleeping is not on the forecast. Staff is great as well, but when I purchase a place to recharge (myself and my device), I expect at least one of those to be true.

The best hostel in Copenhagen by far. The location is simply spectacular, really "downtown" and there are many events sponsored the hostel (live music, happy hour with cheap beers, organized walking tour, free dinner) to get in touch with a lot of people. The beds in the 10 mix dorms are, on the other hand, below average, but is the only drawback of this place. Highly recommended.

No doubt a cool spot. Probably the most happening bar in town. Kids tending bar were always helpful and friendly too. But as far as staying here. The place backs up to an alley full of dumpsters and a club. You can hear the music all night long and when the back door to the club opens not only do you feel like you just entered it, but you also get to hear hundreds of bottles getting thrown out. The music stops around 3:30. The bottles being thrown out around 4:30. Bring ear plugs and maybe you can sleep a few hours.

I had a great experience, the place hosts many interesting travelers, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and beds are nice! On top of that, I found that this hostel not only has a great atmosphere and facilities, it's also the cheapest I found in Copenhagen. Location is perfect. Can recommend.

When we checked in Monday December 2nd around 16-17 (4-5 p. M. ), we had purchased a parking pass that was supposedly (according to the receptionist) valid until we checked out Wednesday December 4th around 10 (a. M. ). However, the receptionist had written the wrong dates on our pass, and I was shocked to find a 650 DKK parking ticket after leaving the hotel. Clearly this is incredibly unprofessional, and when I returned to the hotel to have our case checked out, the reception staff refused to take any further action. For that extra money, we could've stayed at a nicer, cleaner hotel without leaking sewage pipes, suspicious odors and very unfriendly, ignorant staff.

Great atmosphere, large hostel so it can be loud in the hallways. Bar downstairs is cozy, food is great and happy hour even better. Guests were all polite and staff very friendly.

Absolutely loved this hostel! Great atmosphere, extremely conducive to meeting other travellers, free dinner, free use of ipads, and comfy beds! Highly recommend it.
