The staff was friendly and spoke English. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The restaurant served very good food and sometimes they had specials that weren't normally on the menu. One night they had rabbit in a very tasty sauce. They had a good selection of excellent local beer.

The restaurant is pretty decent, traditional meals and fast and friendly service.

Mr. Lutz Müller's review does not correspond at all to the circumstances — because — the Hotel/Restaurant is located centrally on the market square in Nepomuk — the terrace offers a wonderful view over the entire marketplace — parking spaces are free in the backyard. Those booked and those who visit the restaurant can use the complete marketplace for parking — the statement no restaurant in the house is probably a joy-wonderful retro furnished Svejk restaurant which is cozy, a café whose interior is in the style of Art Nouveau + Haseksaal with 25 seats for groups and celebrations, etc. The kitchen is very good and the staff was always friendly, as we were already open to the meal here. Yes it is an old building but very well preserved, if someone should have no taste for quaint, he should probably rather go to a fast food restaurant or go to a hotel called Captain Future — this is U zeleného stromu/On the green tree or as I call it — just SVEJK — I think reviews on Booking (8, 8) and other sites (4, 5 v. 5 etc) speak for themselves …

Nice hotel to stay, beware the public transport is not good in this region and better u have ur own car.

Mid class Mid food style experience. Just fine, no surprises.

Švejk is perfect choice. Good price, big portion and very taste food.

Steak we ordered was served to our table rotten. We could smell it was off as soon as it was served, but still tried to taste it.

This lovely hotel can be found about fifty miles or so south of Prague. We have stayed in Prague itself, but on this trip wanted to experience the feel of a non-tourist atmosphere. The hotel is very quaint and right on the main square in the village of Nepomuk. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The room was situated on the front side of the hotel so we had a fantastic view of the town square and could look out and watch the townspeople going about their business. Breakfast was included with our room and each morning we were offered a spread of eggs, cold cuts, yogurt, rolls, pastries and so on. Breakfast is served in a lovely banquet room. We also ate a few meals at the hotel’s restaurant. I had the more traditional Bohemian fare and my husband chose less traditional selections. We both enjoyed everything we ate and neither of us left the table hungry. If you are driving the hotel does provide free parking in its lot right adjacent to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We found this village a great base for our daily exploring the other lovely villages that are near Prague. Prague is incredible, but so is the rest of the Czech Republic.

We spent a chilly winter weekend in this small Art Noveau hotel (founded in 1909) in the centre of Nepomuk town. Hotel, including the rooms, is newly, but stylish reconstructed and keep the old world spirit. There is a Svejk restaurant (smoking) and cafe (non. Smoking) on the groundfloor, both offer traditional Czech cuisine, also BIO products from local farms, Pilsner beer and good wine — we enjoyed it all fully… The staff was really friendly, helpful and able to comply special wishes.
