An exquisite hotel that exudes an authentic Spanish flavor with beautiful detail in not only the common areas, but also the rooms. A stunning hacienda courtyard stretches to the restaurants, complete with a fountain, mature palms and lovely music. An absolute must is La Isabella restaurant … simply delectable offerings. Chef Jaqueline, not only is she very sweet & personable, she's outrageously talented! I look forward to my return trip! Muchos Gracias!

On Sunday we held an event at the Marriott Hotel and everything went perfectly!

Such a beautiful hotel within minutes of the airport. Easy to feel like you’ve already arrived in Paradise or take one last breath of it before you head home. Perfect resort for a layover. Amenities galore!

Amazing property. Beautiful grounds, feels like an oasis in the middle of a city. Staff is extremely service oriented and accommodating. Everything you need is on property, food, drink, spas, kids park, areas to walk and roam, pool etc.

Spent 6 days at this hotel celebrating my birthday and I must say this is the absolute best hotel I have stayed at. The staff was amazing and celebrated me every chance they got. Very attentive and welcoming. The rooms and property was clean and well kept. The restaurant staff were out of the world. I have some people to name specifically, Analy, Fernando and Jose in the restaurant, Alexander the bellman and the staff at the spa. I will definitely be back.

TERRIBLE, lousy food and expensive, the worst and simplest desserts I've ever tasted, nothing out of the ordinary all super basic for the price they have, incredibly it's a robbery, this place is a robbery, just to go and lose the day, the money and stay wanting to eat something good, I definitely don't recommend it, you better visit another place.

Fantastic place to stay or even meet up for drinks! Bar-10 is a great place for a meal or just a pint. Oscar will take good care of you! in the main Restaurant I would highly recommend Johan Miranda Rojas, a top notch server who will help you with anything you want from suggestions on tourism trips to which uber to ask for!

Awesome location with a great atmosphere. Had a social event in the conference area and then headed down to the lounge and restaurants. Great place. The food is a spin if traditional costarican cuisine not quite authentic but good.

This is one of my favorite hotels. There are three unique restaurants. The breakfast is the best I’ve ever had. The rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing. I travel here often for work and this is the best hotel in San Jose.

The room was great. Large and clean! The views we're beautiful! The staff was very nice and answered all our questions. The booking agency in the front was helpful and got us our coffee tour. The amenities were great although the wellness spa was the only negative. The jacuzzi was filled with dead bugs. Adding the executive lounge access is worth it. The hotel was perfectly located by the car rental return, making it very easy to get to the airport the next day. Overall, great experience and would recommend!

Come on its Marriot! So to me they are always the best. This one is beautiful rustic theme and great location. Not close to city but not far from it or from convenience stores and business. Close to many office centers (free trade zones), close to airport and great food. Everything else its superb!

Wonderful property! The grounds are well kept and beautiful and the pool was perfect for my children since it was shallow. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and offered many choices, even for my picky boys. In addition, the service at the hotel was also wonderful. My son forgot his cup in the hotel fridge and was very upset. The hotel worked with us to arrange for the cup's return and we were all so grateful for their professionalism and responsiveness. I would highly recommend them!

Stunning property, incredible staff that were so overly helpful it was amazing, great gym and pools. Really, it was a terrific place that immediately felt like home. A few nice little spots nearby too that gave some options for dinners. Will absolutely stay here again.

The grounds are well maintained. Friendly staff that greet you with a smile. There are several restaurants, a spa, gift shop and we had a great view from the balcony of our hotel room. The rooms are a large size and recent renovated. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful property and warm and friendly staff. In a convenient location and near airport and short drive to the downtown area. The pools are amazing as well as the nice renovated rooms facing the mountains and the golf course. Really worth the money. But what made is extra special is Maria at the Front Desk who checked us in and offered us amazing service. Our passports got stolen in Jaco on our way to the airport and we missed our flight. We had to wait 2 days to get a document from the embassy to travel which is the reason why we stayed at the Marriott. When we explained to her the story she had so much empathy and recomforted us with her positivity and made us feel a lot better. She even sent us a gift to the room which was very thoughtful and lovely. That gesture turned our worse day of vacation into a much happier one all because of her. Great asset to the team and the hotel. We will stay here again in the future for sure and recommend it to every one visiting San Jose. Thank you Maria!

This place delivers on there resort experience! We could have never set foot off the property and had an amazing relaxing time in Costa Rica. Luckily, it's centrally located and has amazing tours available that we took advantage of so we could experience a few of the wonderful things Costa Rica has to offer. Whether you're lounging by the pool getting served drinks by Gustavo, the best bartender in the country, or eating at one of the phenomenal restaurants they have, you're sure to have a great time.

The architecture of the Hotel is what draws the most attention. The service is excellent and the rooms are comfortable. Some problems with the Wi-Fi hard to get my stay. The restaurant where they serve breakfast is somewhat small when the hotel is at maximum capacity so it is difficult to eat there. I recommend it in general lines.

Really a nice slice of heaven. The staff is amazing and saved our vacation. We left our passports and ALL our vacation cash in the safe in our hotel room after we checked out. We discovered this two hours away and called the resort right away. They asked us to come back and after a stressful two hour drive back security met with us and returned all of our cash and passports. It was amazing the professional manner of the security and loss prevention people working at the hotel. They saved our vacation As this was the first day and place we arrived at. Thanks!

This is an amazing hotel and very close to the airport. We had a first class experience from the time we walked into the hotel till we checked out. Also walkable distance to a small strip mall where there is a am/pm (this is like Seven Eleven in the US) and a great Italian restaurant.

It fully meets the expectations, its executive lounge offers good breakfasts from 5:30 am and dinners from 17:30 hours. Non-alcoholic liquids can be caught without restriction until 00:00 hours. It is only a little bit away from the city, but it has a Britt store that has a good amount of products.
Very friendly staff and willing to provide help or just talk about life.

I stayed here at a conference and would return for a personal trip. The setting is lovely. The staff friendly and competent. I had a pool side room and found the short trip the pool perfect for an enjoyable dip.

Old Colonial Hotel in a medium state.

Stayed at the hotel just one night so cannot comment on everything, but from what I could tell, I liked the fact that the facilities are modern with a touch of Costa Rican heritage, the grounds are beautiful and well-kept, and the staff is very attentive. The pool looked nice as well. The hotel seems to be a hot-spot for weddings and other events. I would love to come back and spend a few days at the hotel to really enjoy it.

This is an island of pure luxury in the middle of the business district of the city. A short walk to a mini mall where they have everything. The hotel is one of the best Marriott I've ever seen. The open-air gives a great Caribbean or Latin feeling. The huge bar with plenty of craft beers and staff that is always right there when you need them. Two dynamite pools and plenty of Lounge furniture with umbrellas and a beautiful waterfall. Don't forget to take your camera to the top floor and get a panoramic view. The rooms lack nothing — huge with plenty of furniture. The gym is super well-equipped and the spa is twice better than you can imagine… Don't miss either one. The breakfast buffet is to die for and I don't understand why you never see any flies anywhere but I love it.

Next to the fact that Costa Rica is a beautiful country the Marriott is a good place to be. I stayed there for the second time and all my expectations were fulfilled. Good and friendly service, tasty food and drinks clean rooms and hotel complex. I am looking forward to my next stay and can recommend this hotel.

This place was spectacular, my wife and I stayed 1 night before going to a resort, and it almost felt like a resort instead of a hotel. They've got a driving range, jogging trail, swimming pools hot tubs, gym, and beautiful views of the valley. The employees were helpful with everything, restaurant service was fast but make sure you ask for a receipt they don't just bring it to you. Overall if I had to stay in the capital again it would be here.

I'm here for a friend's wedding. The hotel has always seemed beautiful to me. They keep it very well. The food was excellent, the service left nothing to be desired. My only complaint was that the lounge in which it was the party got really hot. I don't know if they didn't have the air on, or it wasn't working. Other than that it was an excellent place for such a special day!

This property is absolutely beautiful. It is tucked away on a generous amount of land so you dont feel like you're in the city. All the staff are very friendly. Be prepared to spend if you eat at the restaurants or visit the spa, they are on the pricier side. The pool is great, so is the gym. All the food we had was delicious and fresh.

Hotel is very nice and the staff is excellent. However the room was very noisy. We could hear everything happening in the hallway and the room upstairs, especially stuff on the tiles. Maybe a room on the top floor, in the back corner would be nice, but otherwise not worth it.

Beautiful views from the rooms of this hotel built on an historic coffee plantation. The staff are generally helpful and bilingual in Spanish and English. There are in-hotel restaurants and an in — hotel bar with good service and ratings. The rooms are spacious and well — kept. The only drawback was that one of the check-in staff made fun of me when I arrived, exhausted from the flights.

Great hotel and spa. The pools, restaurants and spa were awesome. The peach Palm soup is a must have. Easy hotel shuttle to and from airport. Car rentals available at the hotel. The staff was helpful and attentive. Getting a room with the executive lounge upgrade was worth it. You get breakfast and dinner as well as snacks through the day. I highly recomendación the spa. There's a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a gym side of all the spa services.

Location is very good, near business centers with a medium sized parking lot, and nice green areas with a coffee plantation. Rooms are Marriot style room, clean, comfortable beds and view to green areas or the pool. Service could be better but still works; some people that work at restaurant area are a little mediocre and management favors business centers over guests.

Only stayed for one night. Did not see whole property, but what I did see was nice and we'll kept. Friendly staff were always accommodating and willing to help.

Convenient location close to the airport and surrounded by nature (See pics). Large comfortable rooms with a small balcony. The view to the pool is the prettiest. Has 2 outdoor pools and a jacuzzi. Bufete breakfast is included and they serve a large selection of fruits and warm dishes. Service is good and food is not bad at all. They could make some renovations to the infrastructure but overall a beautiful hotel.

Lovely setting convenient to airport and town. Great base for doing tours of the country as there is a tour service on site. Restaurants have excellent food. Staff is friendly and attentive. Rooms are quiet and Wi-Fi is reliable and strong.

Conveniently located, but more importantly great service. This resort is a definitely an A+ in every aspect… "beautiful" is an understatement! Absolutely no complaints! Make sure to stop by the coffee shop/store and visit Billy. The coffee was good, but the personal service provided by the staff was absolutely over and above. Billy in particular made a huge impression on me. My elderly father was also staying at the Marriott and Billy went out of his way to assure that he was completely satisfied… even providing a place to take his daily siesta! Can't wait to visit again!

This hotel was a very nice surprise. Framed inside the structure of an old coffee estate, the buildings are absolutely breathtaking. Overall, the place is well maintained and spotless all the time. It's huge and there is a constant flow of people coming and going. It has 5 different restaurant on site, 1 of them 24 hours. This is definitely a great place to stay in San Jose.

The hotel for high standards, which are also fulfilled here. A wellness pool is, of course, available under palm trees. It gives sauna, showers in sufficient quantities are provided by towels for everyone. The many loungers around the swimming pools invite you to take a course area and laze. A drink is brought to you at any time everything to the good of the guest.

A very exclusive hotel with everything your heart desires. There is a swimming pool, sauna, showers and outdoor hot tub and many palm trees.

Wonderful hotel near the airport, the staff is amazing and go out of their way to accommodate any request. Only downside is there is not much within walking distance of the hotel.

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to after our amazing stay at the Costa Rica Marriott San Jose. The staff was above and beyond accommodating and helpful. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The spa and spa staff were phenomenal. While the property is not in walking distance to anything, there were plenty of clean and reliable taxi's available at all times to take you any where you needed or wanted to go. We relied on recommendations from the Bell Captain's as far as places to visit and visitor "must see's. " They hooked us up with a very professional and curious driver to take us on a 3 day tour of the pacific, volcanos, and waterfalls. I highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed here a couple of times. It is a nice hotel and close to the airport. The staff is wonderful. When flying in and out of San Jose this is the only place I will stay.

Absolutely beautiful hotel — even in the rainy season! Great restaurants, service was excellent, grounds are fantastic! Very quite. Rooms are lovely, large, furniture is impressive and very comfortable. Lots to look at in the hotel — just wander around. I have nothing negative to say.

The Marriott Costa Rica Hotel is a luxury class hotel with all the amenities one would hope to experience. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. It is the place to stay when you are in the San Jose area.

It is a barbaric place, as shown in the photos!. The area is beautiful! Very dedicated to their work employees make you feel very comfortable.
