Beautiful hotel with an antique hacienda feel. Very clean and the breakfast included with the stay was amazing! Fresh fruit, home-made beans, rice, eggs fried to order, fresh squeezed juice and more. Most of the staff spoke very little English, but were super friendly and did a great job communicating even with my cruddy Spanish.

This is a really nice place. Like a bed and breakfast with great charm. Clean, large rooms, fridge. Very friendly staff. But, hard to find in a rental car without GPS. Finally, a young couple who spoke English showed us the Maps. Me app that did not need an internet connection. You download a Costa Rica map, and we are there. Extremely good value. Hot breakfast was very good. Extremely pleasant server/cook. As good a value as you will get.

Absolutely outstanding! Do not be fooled by the outside appearance… come inside! Gorgeous hotel filled with breathtaking architecture and art. It is unbelievably beautiful and clean. The staff is so friendly and personable. Don't be deterred by the distance from the airport. Only took 10-15 min to get there and it is so worth it! The vital restaurant is so good. The owners are so hands on and gave such a memorable experience. Best food we've had in our travels.

This place is our fave when visiting San José. It’s got tons of character, complimentary breakfast, it’s super clean, easy parking, fair rates and friendly staff.

Lovely staff and good breakfast. Beautiful artwork throughout. Convenient location with some limited shopping close by. Adjacent to their restaurant which offers excellent good and bar in hotel lobby. Fairly priced.

Hi We spent 1 night to this hotel because we arrive late from the airport. Here are the good and less good points from this hotel : Positive points : It is not too far (also not too close) from the airport The breakfast is ok but nothing special The room is big.

My best friend and I stayed at Casa Roland in October of 2016. The staff was beyond courteous. The front desk staff was friendly, attentive and welcoming. We spoke very little Spanish and they not only helped us translate with various restaurants but they helped us with currency conversion rates. The room was artfully decorated and quiet. Although it rained many of the days we stayed there, we still enjoyed our stay. Our breakfast was tasty and fulfilling. We did not have time to visit the restaurant on the property but we did order in from various restaurants in the city. Yes there are semi nude photos around the property but they were neither offensive nor tolerable. In fact, this hotel has a plethora of artwork throughout the hotel and each piece brings character to this quaint hotel. A must stay!

It is an excellent hotel. People who work there are very nice and friendly. They are always ready to help you with a smile on their faces. The bedrooms are clean and very pleasant. The communication is easy because most of them speak Spanish and English. Breakfast is very good and it is located in a calm place. It was a wonderful surprise for me and friends who traveled to San José along with me. Besides that, I felt like I was inside an art gallery. I simply loved it.
