Cocomar was our last stop in CR and was the icing on the cake! The rooms are large, well furnished and beautiful. The private beach is what makes it special. Clean, not crowded and fantastic for boogie boarding or just relaxing on a hammock! The restaurant prepared tasty meals. The manager was kind to let us hang around for a few hours and enjoy the facilities even after checking out of our rooms. Great place to enjoy the warm and lovely beach and tour Manuel Antonio national park from there. The approach road is not paved and is the only negative I can think of. Hope the government addresses it.

Visited Cocomar in November for a yoga retreat. What a beautiful property! All of the staff were amazing! All the food, drinks and accomodations were excellent!
The hotel is away from the busy touristy areas which was something I really liked!
The beach was beautiful, and could catch the early sunrises and sunsets each day.
If Im ever back in the area, I will be booking with Cocomar!

Amazing on the beach experience where you can walk on the soft sandy beach for miles. The hotel is very well kept and pool restaurant is peaceful and relaxed. You won’t want to leave.

I was very happy with the suite I was given! Both balconies overlooked the grounds and ocean. The food was great and the service was awesome! Chad went out of his way to make everything perfect!

The owner/manager is extremely friendly and the staff goes out of their way to be of service. I WILL go back sooner than later.

Nice to the hotel, all very beautiful, well maintained, provide implements to better enjoy the beach as portable chairs, hammocks, balls etc, swimming pool with good temperature and showers to bathe comfortably near the beach.

I can't say enough how pleased we were with Cocomar. It is the definition of "off the beaten path" and is such a hidden jewel. Off of the main road, you pass through a small village, pass farms, pass homes, then onto a dirt road. If you blink you'll drive right by Cocomar. We debated about staying closer, or in Manuel Antonio Park, and so glad we picked a place right on the beach. We stayed for 3 nights and and Cocomar is the perfect distance from Manuel Antonio Park. We'd start our day with a swim on the absolutely empty beach… amazing to have such a beautiful beach all to ourselves. Black sand, great surf, water temps perfect. Do be care of the rip currents. Each morning I'd wake up and think I am hearing thunder, but it was the surf and was just awesome. Then onto the pool to rinse and relax. Then breakfast. The restaurant at Cocomar was quaint and very good. Perfect way to start and end the day. After breakfast, we'd head out for that day's adventure. Note… you do want a rental car if staying at Cocomar (highly recommend Adobe Car Rental). Cocomar is about 20 min drive to Quepos and about another 20 min to get to Manuel Antonio Park. The drive from San Jose to Cocomar and from Cocomar to Manuel Antonio was absolutely beautiful. You do need to be a good drive and be able to handle mountain driving… but just beautiful everywhere you look. The entire staff at Cocomar was excellent. Really appreciated breakfast and dinner at the restaurant.

The place is great, love the beach and the staff was really kind. But the area around the pool was a bit messy.

Large, clean and comfortable rooms. The service at reception is cordial and fast. What can be improved is the service in the restaurant, the food is not memorable.
It is quiet and away from everything, excellent to rest.

Top Hotel in a dream location. Delicious food. Just terrific!

First off if you are looking for something that’s secluded, very low key and too just unwind hanging out around the beach and pool then this is the place for you. I booked this hotel for one night as our starting point, and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by Cocomar! I hoped that if I got my husband to a secluded and calm location for the start of the trip where he was able to hear the ocean waves at night that maybe he would be able to just “decompress” and then relax for the rest of our trip. He has a stressful job in the hotel and resort industry was actually relaxed within the first hour of being there, it was great I could not believe it! We showed up early and we were taken care of right away! Kelen was the most amazing front desk manager ever! She even gave us excellent suggestions on places to go on for the rest of our trip in Uvita and Dominical which we much appreciated, listen to her, she knew what she is talking about and had great advice! All the ladies in the restaurant at Cocomar were fabulous and so kind and friendly, I just really cannot say enough good things about all the people who work at Cocomar! One of the best parts of Cocomar was the seclusion of Playa Palo Saco. When we were leaving the hotel, we were fortunate and spotted 2 Scarlet Macaws in the trees along the road (right before the horses).

Free Wi-Fi, a beautiful private beach, the best staff — so friendly and accommodating. They asked numerous times how our stay was and offered to set up beach chairs and towels. They have sand volleyball. The restaurant was amazing and there’s free continental breakfast that is delicious and had lots of options. The room was gorgeous — neat art, super modern showers with waterfall shower heads, and nice furniture. We had an ocean view and the balcony was huge! It’s worth getting off the beaten path for a night or two, or even the whole trip for a very relaxing vacation.

Hidden gem, you need to check this place out! It's a place you'll want to come back to more than once. The beaches are so unique; this resort is tucked away and very secluded and each time we've been here there's hardly ever another soul out there and we have an ENTIRE beach to ourselves! We got the chance to talk to the owner for a little while, and he really is a light in the hospitality industry. He very genuinely cares for people and wants to give them the best vacation experience out there. The whole staff is very accommodating and is under the best leadership I've seen. It's a family business owned by a father and son pair. I can't give a high enough recommendation and would give this resort our business time and time again!

Beautiful resort and beach. The staff is absolutely amazing, the food is great, the rooms are perfect and it’s in the perfect location. We come to Cocomar every year, this being our 3rd and we’ve never had a single complaints. Highly recommend!

At Hotel Cocomar, my family and I had an incredible time at the beach front connected with the Hotel and the great guest service we received. We had come into Hotel Cocomar having a two double bed room, but due to the amount of problems with that room, the receptionist told us not to worry and upgraded us to an apartment suite for the price of a two double bed room. All in all service was very good whenever there was even the smallest problem. The only problem with this girl was the breakfast and the prices of the foods at the restaurant. As for the breakfast, because my family and I are vegetarian we had very minimal options with no cereal, bread, and even water we had to buy for 8 dollars, an extremely high price.

We had a great family vacation here! Beautiful beach and all to ourselves, nice family suite and fantastic restaurant and breakfast. Chad was super helpful and we would definitely go again. Pretty isolated for Costa Rica but fine to do day trips with a car or can get picked up. Very tranquil. Kids enjoyed boogie boarding (boards available) and swimming in the pool Rainmaker waterfall park nearby was awesome.

I stupidly booked our rooms for the wrong week but the hotel manager was very helpful in setting us up with a room. The place is secluded but has a good restaurant and a great beach with good waves. Awesome rooms with good service, comfortable mattresses, an Ice maker (first one we saw in Costa Rica), and good food, you can't go wrong.

If you like secluded, laid back, beautiful beach resorts, this one is definitely for you. The most courteous, helpful and accommodating staff my wife and I have had the pleasure to stay with. If you take the time to get to know these wonderful people, you will have a more meaningful journey into the culture that is Costa Rica!

My husband and I stayed in one of the suite ocean view rooms at Cocomar. The word that comes to mind is, WOW! The resort is tucked away on the island Palo Seco with nothing but nature surrounding. We got to see so many beautiful creatures including monkeys, various butterflies, iguanas, and tropical birds. The beach is very private and absolutely stunning. It's a perfect place for a honeymoon. Breakfast was very tasty and abundant. The chef makes everything from scratch and some of the ingredients and fruits are grown right on the grounds of the resort. One thing that I was happy about is that the water from the tap is purified and the internet worked really fast! (considering how immersed into nature we were) The staff are all extremely friendly. And the owner, Chad went out of his way to make sure we had an amazing time. If you are looking for a 5 star pura vida experience, then this place is for you! :)

Nataliya and I stayed at CocoMar during a recent trip to Costa Rica. When we had a problem with the air conditioner in our room, Chad offered us a large suite while the problem was repaired. He made every effort to make us feel welcome, and he treated us with generosity and good vibes. I think he enjoys his job and it shows in how he attends to his guests. The restaurant provided a delicious and complimentary breakfast buffet including fresh juice and traditional Costa Rican fare every morning. Evening meals were also delicious. The coconut tree-lined beach stretches out in front of the resort, and guests are treated to its powerful, but soothing, roar whenever they step outside onto their patios or balconies. The beach provides a great place to relax and walk in the surf, both in the sun and under the stars, but swimming is best enjoyed in the Resort's pool. We were very pleased with our stay and highly recommend CocoMar Resort.

Beautiful, right next to the beach, great amenities, very friendly staff. Only drawback is the 15 minute drive down a horrible gravel road. Still, love this place.

Wonderful hotel right on the beach off the beaten path. Owner and staff were very welcoming, and the hotel had an intimate feel. Beautiful gardens onsite, along with a good-sized pool. The room was very comfortable. Definitely recommend a car to get here — it's about a 15 minute drive from Parrita, mostly on dirt roads.

Best experince ive ever had in costa rica! I miss this hotel, the beach, the service, the view, the food (all organic) and the upgraded appliances so much! You cant go wrong here!

Very comfortable and equipped rooms. The sea view is beautiful. They look more like condos because they are living room, dining room, kitchen, balconies facing the sea, rooms and spacious bathroom, a/c, hot water and internet in the room. The hotel and its staff very well also. You carry food and drinks to the beach or to the pool. The hotel is located just in front of the sea and the beach is very clean and private.

Excellent room with view to the sea, delicious breakfasts, delicious dinner, beach extremely clean, very clean sea, around tranquility, a place to go and stay!

I couldn't have been happier with my stay at Cocomar. The rooms were amazing with views and sounds of the beach. Two thumbs up for anyone interested in checking it out.

I loved the rooms as well as the amazing beach, Palo Seco is a "must go" in Costa Rica.
