The owners are extremely nice. A full breakfast is served every morning and the rooms are very cozy.

Casa Alquimia is a nice place for people who want to know more about Monteverde — very friendly and helpful hosts Tarsicio and Marianela who give good clues what to visit and how people live and think. As an european guest I felt a little bit like in an chalet in the Alps — and the altitude is similar (about 1600 m). Because there is one room for breakfast it is easy to get in contact with other guests. Only 5 min. The street above there is the fine pizzeria Tramonti. It is recommended to make a reservation. Also only 5 min. Away is the entrance to the "Bosqe", a small primeval forest where you can hear (and with luck see) howler monkeys. They offer guided walks for bird (and insect) watching and night tours. Skywalk and Cloud forest are not far away, by car reachable in a few minutes.

Very nice bed and breakfast run by a super lovely family that really cares about you. I saw more wildlife around the house than anywhere else during my 6 months of travelling. House is big and located in a quiet area of Monteverde. Breakfast is good.
