Excellent service, a lot of order with the breakfast times scheduled according to the time previously chosen by the client, arrangement of rooms and cleaning I loved it, white towels, impeccable shower curtains, I did not see insects means that the fumigation is effective, clear pool is noticeable good care and adequate disinfection, the attention from the reception to the service staff in the food and cleaning was 100, and the peace, tranquility and security, beautiful facilities, all the above added, make us feel very satisfied to visit them and wanting to return. Congratulations to the owners and staff. My family and I were very grateful. Keep going.

I return home after being a few days at the Hotel Mar de Luz.
Very neat, very familiar the very good attention the place quite nice the pools very well located the comfortable and well equipped and neat rooms. More than recommended if you are looking for a quiet and familiar place without the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Both my wife and I had a great time we liked it very much and clear that it will be my first choice of accommodation in jaco. They really like the attention to us.
Only if I would recommend q if you are going to make any arrangements at the hotel do it on the lower days of the week and not a weekend when there are more guests that was the only thing I did not think was right because the noise for times if it was quite annoying otherwise excellent I recommend them.

Super recommended, delicious breakfast, other than it is very quiet, clean, nice and comfortable. The best thing about this hotel is its importance in a family atmosphere, I love going to this hotel.

AWESOME place for families and relaxation. Food and pool are great. Personnel is very kind you can see the owner walking around making your stay even more enyoyable. Place is beautiful, macaws right in front of the hotel. We left a case at the room and hotel proactively contacted us to report the incident, even better the owner of the hotel personally sent the piece of luggage to our address with no cost. Very family friendly. The pool has a shallow spot for kids and there is even some small playground equipment. The AC works, so that's a huge bonus. I would not call accommodations luxary, but they try to do a good job. The guest service is pretty great, but the Wi-Fi was spotty. Great place for a family on a budget. Walking distance to some shops etc.

Stayed kne night as part of a school tour trip. Nice enough, if a bit outdated. Rooms had AC and were spacious. Oldschool keys and locks were used and doors did not lock automatically. Decent enough, but out of the way and far from our nicest accommodations on the trip.

Very quiet, family atmosphere, comfortable rooms, good location where it is not disturbed by the noise of the night and an excellent breakfast. The only bad thing and that it leaves the hands of the staff at the hotel was a little girl of about 3 years, he screamed as if he had the demon inside, not leaving to sleep with peace of mind.

Wonderful place to stay. We stayed in one of the condos which is secluded and the four units have their own pool. The breakfast was amazing and the staff are extremely friendly.

Good location right in town, walking distance from the beach, bars and restaurants. The pool is nice, the grounds of the hotel are small but cute, they have a pretty lounge area to hang out. After 10pm they are very strict about nice, I like that because it's quiet and relaxing.

Great for a 3 star family hotel. Not in front of the beach but very close, 5 min walk to get to the beach. Near all the stores and restaurants of Jaco, so it's very easy to get food and stuff since the hotel only includes breakfast and does not have a open restaurant during the rest of the day. Pool is not big but still comfortable. Rooms are very nice.

I travelled for the past 20 years so I know a bit about “deals” for hotels. Firstly, the staff is not friendly, they kind of make the effort but not because they really care or want. The rooms from 21 to 27 have bugs, cockroaches, lizards… etc, the rooms from 10 to 20 much much better. No hot water… feb 14 to 21 2018 in room 14 there was 2 times about 5 min hot water in the evening… I asked if there is a schedule. No… nothing… they have the roof water heating systems and also a boiler… no idea why it didn’t work as we told the staff many times about the issue… Breakfast is “no frills”… check out the pictures. Free parking… Wi-Fi was good, the pool was small but good, access to the beach a 5-7 min walk and location to “downtown” about 10min in the same direction as the beach.

I agree with other reviews. Rooms are dated but clean. This is a very good hotel for kids. Playground, pools and close to the beach. The staff are friendly and there are kid friendly options for breakfast, pancakes. The room is secure with a deadbolt and chain There is also a safe. I'd go there again.

Towels & sheets were stained. Pool was right in front of my room so it wasn't very peaceful. All the rooms curtains were sheer so it was bright early.

This hotel was literally crawling with creatures! Cockroaches, spiders, gecko, you name it all over our room. Couldn't sleep had anxiety. We had these tiny black bugs crawling all over the bed even after we got new sheets (which we made the bed, staff just gave us sheets and left. Shouldn't they make the bed) we realized these bugs lived inside the mattress. I saw a cockroach the size of my palm. My own personal hell.

I love the place. Very quiet, family visited from 15 years ago and has been improved and renewed constantly. The staff has changed but maintains the philosophy of its owner, don Victor, who has treated very special guests. Recommended.

I came in the evening with a toothache looking to get some sleep and search the web for a local dentist I asked if they had Internet and hot water for shower hot water didn't work and the Internet was 100% worthless even tried to different network that they had the place wasn't very clean but the breakfast that the ladies made was good and they were very friendly so the gentleman at the front desk when I asked do you have hot water and Wi-Fi told me yes, they had both they just didn't work, I would never go back there.

Great place to stay! Clean, safe, and friendly atmosphere. Although we weren't traveling with our children… the area they had set aside the pool area was extremely inviting. Quiet poolside lounging while we were there. Breakfast in the morning was delicious… and great service. Lastly, the location was central to great shopping areas, restaurants, Jaco beach, and tourism hubs (zip line, off roading, and atv rides). I really enjoyed my stay here with family.

Great location but not right in the middle of busy Jaco. The owner is so nice! Nice, clean pools (yes, pools). Hot water, nice, comfy rooms and beds. We were staying at hostels and Airbnbs most of the trip and this was our first hotel so it felt luxury to us! The staff was nice and with all the debauchery that takes place in Jaco, it was nice to find a quiet, safe place.
