Reviews of La Selva Biological Station 3*
Stayed here with classmates for a couple of weeks to do some research on the various primates that live here. It was the most incredible and life changing experiences. Of course, since it's a research facility, there were learning opportunities everywhere; the guides are fun and good company. The food never disappointed, especially without the shortage of Salsa Lizano! Although it's hot and humid as hell, it's to be expected of a primary rain forest and it's nothing a few minutes in your cabin with your fan on can't fix. I recommend 10/10 simply because on top of all that I've already said, there's simply something about La Selva and Costa Rica's outdoors that just leaves you feeling so refreshed and unendingly happy. PS: Bring high ankle water proof boots Actually, just water proof everything Bring a lot of mosquito repellent… like, a lot I also recommend peppermint essential oils to keep the creepy crawlers away It's non smoking Bring a hammock for relaxing I recommend hydro flask water bottles or any water bottle that will keep your ice for a few hours When the monkeys walk by and you have the urge to look up, keep your mouth closed If you want to see any cool animals for long periods of time, stay quiet Don't feed anything except yourself Note there are only two animals in the forest you're allowed to kill (I was told by Kenneth, who works there) mosquitos, and little geckos that are invasive species.
I am a research student here. This is one of the most beautiful ecological destinations it gives you the full rain forrest experience.
