Very good restaurant, good attention, but lacking a bit of coordination for a small group. They made a change of the dessert without having indicated it… Too bad!

If you want to spend one or two nights. Perfect, you eat well, beautiful park, clean room. Great Restaurant and Bar prices.

Having stayed here on two occasions, 6 years apart, was a great experience. There was nothing I went without. Cleanliness was at the top with helpful staff and excellent meals.

Visit the restaurant and the food and attention were excellent. A beautiful garden with natural walking trails. It has a large house for very beautiful and spacious events. The parking very safe.

The hotel itself is good mediocrity — but the botanical garden belonging to the hotel is really top. Very large, well maintained and a variety of plants and animals. I discovered the only opossum of my Costa Rica round trip.

It is a beautiful place filled with gardens and a smoke-free environment, in harmony with nature. Excellent deal, food extremely balanced and with options for the whole family. The food is exquisite and the comfort of the rooms make your stay very pleasant.

Gorgeous garden and friendly staff. Amazing dining services. The continental breakfast is buffet and serves hot food and fresh fruit every day! Breathtaking garden that goes on for acres. The rooms are not anything special, bed is veru firm. Baclonies on every room with spectacular views.

The gardens are beautiful and amazing. The room is large, comfortable & clean with balcony overlooking the garden. On second & third stay a view of San Jose not as nice and a little noisy. Room has safe, small table with chairs, desk, overhead fan, TV with English channels. Toiletries in bath. Staff are very friendly and speak passable English. Breakfast included is substantial. Restaurant is very good but a little inconsistent. No other restaurants nearby. Tap water is very good to drink. Gym is better than your average US hotel gym. Pool area is quite beautiful. Common areas are also very nice. Highly recommend!

Clean, well run, friendly helpful staff — 10 acres botanical gardens, this is the place to stay. The restaurant is very good food. The room is spacious and well maintained. Pool and exercise rooms are excellent. Can't find a fault here, it is the place to stay. Highly recommend this to all.

Don't stay anywhere else if you're stopping in San Jose for any reason. Amazing hotel set in stunning grounds. A bit like staying in a botanical gardens. We spent ages wandering around the gardens. So beautiful and good for birdwatching. The rooms are large, bright and spotlessly clean. The staff, including cleaning staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is tasty. Would give it six stars if It was possible.

This place is amazing! The hotel is great — all the amenities you would expect. The service is top rate. The beds are the most comfortable I experienced in the entire country — not exaggerating. Food was great in the restaurant. The front gate makes it very secure. The botanical garden is crazy awesome. Over 600 species of plants. As they call it, it's a botanical garden with a hotel. The experience is relaxing, enticing and invigorating. Great place to come to find a nice, peaceful experience. Truly the best of Costa Rica.

Exquisite details in each experience, the gardens are of film, the attention in the restaurant is very cordial, quick and custom. The food is delicious, not cheap but worth every penny. The meeting rooms are comfortable, as a valid point, the furniture of the rooms is not suitable for several hours. An experience to remember pleasantly.

I visited restaurant and gardens, excellent attention, professional staff, advise or orient to adapt the meals to the taste of the diner. Fast and correct service presentation. The ample garden allows routes that help digestion, distraction and even meditation.

This hotel has the most beautiful grounds of any hotel I have ever seen. It's like staying in a botanical garden! I spent hours roaming through the property with my camera, taking photos and looking at the plants. Our room was lovely with a big balcony that overlooked the garden. The food was very good and the service was great. I wish we'd booked more nights there just to soak up the atmopshere. Highly recommended!

Chosen not to enter San José, hotel a little dated but with large and clean rooms, very quiet, the garden is gorgeous and worth a visit, normal breakfast for this type of facility.

Great hotel. Excellent garden, great rooms, great pool/gym, very friendly helpful staff (fluent in English) and a restaurant that is great value for money. Only negatives would be the construction noise coming from next door takes away from the beauty of the garden and the rooms don't have ac. Overall I would definitely stay again or recommend.

Lovely gardens — 10 acres? — — with paths that wind between trees and benches and sculptures, through arches, by gazebos. All sorts of beautiful plants, and birds galore. Bring your camera and binoculars. Garden-front rooms are more expensive but worth it — sit on your balcony and watch the day arrive or the moonshine play its magic in the trees. We were busy and did not try the pool or workout room, but we can recommend the breakfast buffet highly. Firm, nice mattress, clean room with a ceiling fan as well as AC, charging ports, large bath. The front desk crew was helpful, the business center handy, and book swap corner a surprise and delight. Quite an extensive collection of geodes and rocks artfully displayed is another highlight, as is the large map of CR on the front porch.

Nice and beautiful garden… peaceful moment in the afternoon. Worth to visit… recommended.

I usually go for the breakfast buffet Wich is good. After that you can take a long walk in the big garden in the back with colorful flowers.

Beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Carlos in the restaurant is awesome! The gardens are a must see. I enjoyed my stay and will come visit again. I went for surgery and recovered in the hotel. It is a great place to stay. The food was wonderful too.

The hotel Bougainvillea for me it was a novel experience. It offers accommodation of first quality accompanied by excellent services. In contrast, the rate of accommodation seems more than reasonable, especially when compared with the price level that is located in Costa Rica. My only disappointment was the little time that I had available to enjoy the facilities and the exceptional gardens that surround it. A first place, nothing common. I hope to return soon.

The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms were wonderful. The gardens are fabulous. We (Clearwater Audubon group) only stayed one night and everyone agreed it would have been nice to have another day exploring the grounds and enjoying the pool.

The room service and front desk service were both excellent. I had meals sent to my room twice and both times they were delivered hot and quickly. The front desk staff speaks both Spanish and English and were able to answer questions and change money for me with a smile. I will be staying here again when I return to Costa Rica next year.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. The staff, the food, the rooms, the garden, the decor were all wonderful. Staff was genuinely caring and very attentive. Rooms were lovely; very comfortable beds and pillows. I enjoyed my strolls through the beautiful gardens. This place is a gem.

This is the best place ever. Everything was amazing, all from the staff to the wonderful Gardens. I very highly recommend this Hotel to any one who wants a wonderful experience. I recuperated from surgeries here, I felt closer to God and healed much faster do to the wonderful people and the absolute beautiful Gardens. I hope to some day return and enjoy much more. One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Hotel staff were extremely helpful in all ways. I particularly liked the garden area in the area behind the hotel. I stayed as part of a birding tour of Costa Rica and was able to log at least 15 new species of birds in the garden. Food at the restaurant was exceptional. Wi-Fi worked well in my room. I particularly liked the ability to pay the exit fee for the airport right at the reception desk. Saved me another wait in line at the airport. I would recommend this hotel for anyone going to Costa Rica.

We stayed at the Hotel Bougainvillea on the final day of a two-week trip to Costa Rica for bird watching. This was our fifth hotel and the last before departing the next day. The hotel is less than a half hour taxi ride to the airport. The grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The service of the waitress or waiter was very custom and fine attention in the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, so as I was of much use Wi-Fi for my night work in the room, so I delight with the rear gardens of the courtyard of the hotel, congratulations! thank you very much.

"I thought it was an excellent service in terms of care preparations, kindness, cordiality and respect. " I liked a lot the garden which I could enjoy even more at dusk and the lights. Also I really liked that they really are quite organic, caught my attention that used magazine leaves to wrap purchases in stores instead of bags, which I thought it was veery incredible and had up to a better appearance since the wrapping was done with delicacy. "I love everything about Hotel Bougainvillea. I have stayed there many times and will continue in the future. The only complaint I have is the parking. Sometimes I had to park on the street. I think there should be enough parking reserved for the hotel guests. ".

We remembered this hotel from 6 years ago and knew we wanted to return. It has only become better. The service was excellent. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was large, clean, comfortable and well appointed. There was even good original art work on the wall. The restaurant was great. Try the Red Snapper of Sea Bass. The public areas were filled with good and interesting art as well as a very interesting rock collection. It is the garden that is truly exceptional. There must be about 10 acres of beautifully landscaped walks. There were thousands of Bougainvillaea, Orchids and Bromeliads with butterflies everywhere. We wandered around for hours, often meeting others with an amazed expression on their faces. Orchid lovers, come in the spring for more than 50 trees filled with blooming Orchids. Come for the great hotel and stay an extra day to enjoy the garden. (Bring your camera).
