Gorgeous resort and very clean. Plenty of pools so if one is crowded, you can easily find another. My only complaints — the tile by the pools are extremely slippery whether you have shoes on or you’re barefoot. Many people slipped and hit their head. Be super careful. The resort gets very dark at night with barely any lighting so be careful when walking back to your room if it is off the main area, or call a golf cart to ride you back. There is a mix of super friendly staff, and staff that can’t be bothered — mostly the bartenders. Seemed like the did not want to help. Food was mostly great, but restaurants aren’t open daily so be sure to plan ahead. Overall great experience and I would recommend to all!

The Dreams spa is a must! The food choices are amazing, pools galore with a bonus of the beach with amazing sunsets. Stuff is really helpful and always smiling and friendly! The wildlife is the biggest bonus, monkeys come every morning, birds signing, iguanas, raccoons! Yep, I’ll be back! 😄

A great place to be one with nature. A great atmosphere nestled in the jungle. All the people were fantastic. The room was very spacious and we had a great view of the resort and a view of the ocean. Foods were delicious in all the restaurants. We would go back for sure.

Honestly this place was way below the expectations that were on the website when booked. My wife and I finished our final days of our honeymoon here and booked one of the best rooms and when we got there, our room was disgusting and not even close to what we booked. We did not want to waste time on saying anything at all because the welcome we initially got was very mid. Not friendly or seemed interested in anything. Also, paid for extra honeymoon decor, etc and we got a jagged piece of what looked like hardened toilet paper on our door and a lazy done coffee bean heart on the bed. What else? Our room was cleaned two times only and the food was nasty. Not even close to a 4 star hotel whatsoever. All food was americanized and had zero food that was actually from the country. Most staff were cool and very nice and friendly but very scripted as to how to respond to guests. Pretty much felt as if it was a frat party during the day at the pools and really had to find calmness far away from that. Not a very calming pleasant beach experience. Won’t go back here and do not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere. The best part of it was we had a pet lizard who spent time with us on the ceiling in our room the entire time who helped with the bugs in the room. On the beach also, Alba and Mario who do not work for the resort are amazing and do make you feel like you are in Costa Rica and not at a vomit smelling frat house.

Incredible property and views. The staff was wonderful, very kind and welcoming. Loved all the wildlife that surrounds the resort.

Absolutely beautiful location. Good service, good food, good bar tenders. The resort is remote. It takes two hours from the Liberia airport by bus. The resort is beautiful. We did lost power a few times but it was quickly restored. Make sure to sign up for excursions either at the hotel or with locals on the beach. Mind the rainy season when booking.

Do not recommend. Don’t pay for preferred. That’s a rip off. Hotel has bad service, extremely run down hotel and amenities, and overall filth. I would give this hotel a 1 star and maybe even less. People blaring music near our swim out til midnight, people jumping each other in the pool with children nearby, overall an extremely negative experience for all 30 of our guests.

This was my first time visiting Costa Rica and I had a blast. The resort is very family-oriented and the entire staff was polite and very helpful. There were nightly events that brought the guest together for an added level of fun. I met so many amazing people and definitely look forward to staying again.

Would definitely call this a family/couples resort. Nice layout. Good food options. Rooms were always kept up when we weren’t there.

The resort is beautiful, and the customer service is top notch! Everyone is so polite and helpful. There are pools that surround the entire place, and the beach area is really pretty. Walking through you hear and see all of the tropical birds and animals.

Great service, great resort! Too many great people to mention them all. Preferred club staff awesome from morning team to the office team at night. They are always cleaning.

What a wonderful hotel! We’ve just got back from our first family holiday for over 2 years and this is exactly what we needed. Lovely spacious rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff (the majority of which spoke amazing English), big swimming pools, easy access to the beach and great quality food choices in all the restaurants & buffets. We didn’t see any monkeys 🐒 during our stay but we did see raccoons and the most amazing birds & huge iguanas. I’d definitely recommend a stay at Dreams Las Mareas if you’re looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of the world 🇨🇷

Suseth is by far the best bartender! We love her but really wish she was in the preferred lounge because we love the air conditioning and early service in the morning. She is the easiest to understand and extremely kind! A lot of great service at the resort but she is by far the best! Also she makes the best drinks and speaks great English! We love her!

The grounds are beautiful. Numerous pools to enjoy. Staff goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Very clean. Restaurants are confusing and food is either very good or very bad. Mixed drinks are watered down. All bars are closed by 11. 👎🏻
The beach is clean and safe and the sunsets are spectacular.

Worse experience ever. False advertising with this hotel. They sell a completely different experience. You pay premium prices for a below average experience. I regretted coming here.

This was hands down the greatest vacation. Stunning views, excellent food, friendly staff, great gym, even a daily morning nature hike you could take… the list goes on! Don’t stop traveling due to the current situation!

Food wasn't the best and portion sizes way too small. Staff not that accommodating.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in March 2018. We got a private transfer through Amstar from the airport to the resort to avoid making various stops at other resorts. The resort is new so everything was nice and clean! The staff was friendly and very attentive. The water was too cold to get in the ocean so we spent most of our time in the pool. We loved the adult pool area and the daily drinks as well as the nightly shows. We just weren't a fan of the food. We expected a little more for an "luxurious all-inclusive".

So far so good… only issue is the property is to big everything is so spread out, need to do a lot of walking… UPDATE: Enjoyed our visit for the most part. Beautiful resort spa prices way out of touch compared to other resorts we've had throughout our travels. We took our adult children and grandchildren and were disappointed when we were denied entry to the Italian Restaurant on property because they don't allow children (ages 7 & 12) into there Italian Restaurant it's an all adults only restaurant, so much for a family resort. Nevertheless overall the staff was friendly and courteous, food I would rate from a 7 to a 9. We booked a 2 hour 4x4 quad excursion outside of property an during one of our stops we pulled in for refreshments at a local mom and pop store and was floored when we were charged $3.00 for a bottle of Gatorade, and went almost across the street to a private house/restaurant and ordered fish and chips with (1) 12oz. Beer and (1) bottle water and were charged $36.00. We can only come to one conclusion tour guide take tourist to these specific locations and get a kick backs from these prearranged stops. Buyer beware take your own snacks and drinks before leaving resort. Aug. 2018

Beautiful resort poor service. My first day I arrived to my room to find rotten bananas smashed on a chair, dirty sink and toilet. Cleaning staff came removed the chair and cleaned the mouth wash stains from the sink, but wasn't very apologetic. The next day I told our waiter I was allergic to cilantro and ofcourse my food came with cilantro. The third day ordered ribs at the grill for lunch and the ribs came burnt. I also had to wait for so long that my husband finished his meal before I got the ribs. I know this maybe isolated issues but this is my worst experience at an all inclusive. I stayed at Beaches, Sandals and Excellence and never arrived to a dirty room. The other issues are minor but still leaves a bad impression.

We had an awesome time at this resort. All inclusive was easy and all of the food was really good. Rib eye steak was awesome. There were always plenty of drinks available. There are many slick surfaces on the grounds with tile flooring in the rooms. Make sure your feet are dry or where some flip flops walking around the pools. Over all it was a fun experience. We went with a small group of friends, so it was more fun than going by ourselves. They have a kids area and there are many excursions for people to do. I'd like to go back again to this place.

This is hands down the best family friendly all inclusive we've been to. By that, I mean they've done a fabulous job of incorporating a lot of children's activities and areas into areas where adults can also enjoy being. There are so many pools here that you rarely — if ever — have to worry about getting a lounge chair. The service and staff are pleasant and accommodating and the food is far better than we expected! Very fresh and they offer a wide variety of foods in the buffet. Our favorite aspect is the way they've incorporated and preserved the ecosystem into the design of the resort. We fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys and birds and see various other animals roaming throughout the day. We can't say enough positive things about Dreams Las Mareas!

Very nice accommodations. My only complaint would be for an All-Inclusive I was disappointed with the lack of spirits in my room mini bar. It only had 3 beers and sodas. Once the beer was gone they didn't automatically restock it. We had to ask constantly. The food was abundant and really good. The specialty restaurants were good too they just have a dress code.

Food was good and there were many different choices for food and drinks. View was beautiful! Loved every minute of Costa Rica! This resort has large beautiful pools. The room was spacious. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

Room was great, Wi-Fi worked everywhere, food was decent — we're big foodies and I was impressed by a lot of their choices. We didn't see any monkeys, but saw a ton of lizards, raccoons, butterflies and even a couple bunnies on the resort grounds. Customer service could be improved — everyone says, "it's a pleasure, " but it's just a habit and isn't genuine. The alcoholic drinks aren't very good at all with the exception of a limited few (coconut margaritas, green monster) and the liquor isn't top shelf. There was almost no service at the pool so we went to the bar to get our drinks — not a huge deal for us, but service is always nice. The nightly entertainment was decent — enjoyable, but cheesy. The fire show was the best night.

A very quiet place to enjoy the sunsets more beautiful, a space to interact with nature and disconnect from the exterios. I loved being able to perform many activities, and have a very friendly staff and helpful.

My wife and I just returned from Las Mareas. Unfortunately they have lost what would have been a loyal customer to their brand, including this particular resort. When I booked this vacation months ago, in the fine print I was told I would receive a free excursion. The following morning when I went to schedule it, I was told I needed a minimum of 6 days and it had to be booked onlind, neither of which was in the print. I called and spent over an hour trying to get somebody to make good on what I was told. Finally, after standing in lobby using wi fi calling, I was able to get somebody on the phone to say I was right and they will contact the resort. I called back several hours later only to be told from supervisor over the phone that in the print of offer it states "resort can change or cancel at anytime" and that they were exercising that option — no other reason given. I called many times and spoke with all parties involved, including the resort… nobody cared.
A couple other issues at resorrt… called room service on Saturday night for a couple of waters… they never showed up. Restaurant hours are listed until 11, we showed up at 10:50 and we were turned away, went up to the room about an hour later and ordered room service and it took over an hour. Monday morning we called room service for breakfast and were told line was busy and told to call back.
The staff could have a little better understanding of basic questions like how to get around resort, etc.

Family of three and stayed in the resort for four days. The room was nice, but the design of the room didn't allow for privacy when using the toilet. When ordered room service, staff advised not to leave dirty plates outside the room because racoons will get to them. Had to call back for them to retrieve finished plates. Pools are really nice, but had to walk over to bar to get 95% of our drinks. Food was good and restaurant service was okay. There were a few times we had to remind waiters about our missing appetizer, drink, or side. The beach was beautiful and relaxing. Night time shows are entertaining if u enjoy various genres of music and dance. This was one of the nicest resorts I've stayed at and will most likely visit again.

Beautiful hotel! Absolutely huge! Took me 2 days to get where I was going. Pool was fantastic, the bars were amazing & the food selection was awesome. Unfortunately the beach wasn't great. Not the most pleasant looking and there were baby jellyfish stinging some people when they went into the water (I know this is out of the hands of the hotel). The staff was friendly & helpful. Never heard the saying "It was my pleasure" so many times. My friend had a wedding on the beach and it worked out perfectly. The sun came at the perfect point when they were saying their vows. Hope to come back to this hotel. First time in Costa Rica and it did not disappoint.

Really nice, modern all inclusive resort. Beautiful beach that was almost empty all the time! We were there in March, but beautiful beach weather. Go figure… We used the hotel as a home base and booked day trips all week from the several helpful "travel agents" at the front of the place. We'd have a big breakfast at the buffet in the morning, head out on our tour/adventure and have dinner when we got back at any one of the very good restaurants. Food/drinks available pretty much around the clock so it didn't matter when we got back. There were some white faced monkeys living in the woods behind our building! What a treat. They'd come down in the morning looking for hand outs. Bring your camera :)

We are currently at the resort and have been here 3 days. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! We are in the preferred club swimout and it is worth paying a little extra for it. The staff is fantastic and treat you like royalty. Most of the staff speaks conversational English so that’s a plus. The pools are great but you need to wake up kind of early to grab a chair. However, the resort is big and there are a lot of guests, so that is to be expected. The food has been really good too. A lot of people like the no reservations but it means you have to wait a lot longer to get in. I would have preferred reserving tables, especially since we are a party of 5. The beach isn’t the best but there is a drink server that makes sure you are taken care of. Don’t come here if you want a beach with Caribbean blue water and soft white sand. We had a beach day and enjoyed ourselves, but it may be disappointing to some people. There are people on the beach trying to sell bags, purses, massages, jet ski rides, etc. But if say no, they won’t pressure you. I think the beach is a public beach so there is little the resort can do about the vendors and the way the beach looks. There are a lot of fun activities to do on property if you don’t want to spend all day on an excursion. The resort is remote but that means the stars are gorgeous at night because you don’t get ambient light from any cities.

Excellent all inclusive in Costa Rica.

Our experience here was amazing. Upon arrival we were treated with the upmost respect and understanding this was a once and a lifetime vacation opportunity. The food was incredible and staff beyond helpful. The gift shops and excursions are outrageously expensive but each trip off the resort was incredible and I'd pay to do it again if we get the chance to come back.

Fabulous and luxurious. Food is excellent quality. Don't expect fast or attentive service at the restaurants though — if you just relax and go with the slower pace you will have a better time. If you do the VIP presentation be prepared for a gauntlet of sales pitches — you'll feel like you really earned your bonus gift! The beach is typical for the Pacific side, dark sand and cold ocean (can you tell we prefer the Caribbean? ). The beach vendors are also a bit intimidating because they pounce on you just as you are setting foot on the sand. I understand their rights and all but it would at least be nicer if they just approached your chair once you've been on the beach for awhile. (The Caribbean resorts we've been to do it that way. ) High points: The Coco Cafe. Best coffee and gelato and it's open 24/7. The spa is also excellent. Best swedish massage we've ever had by a long shot. We also very much liked the sense of freedom in the place. Because it is so secluded, there are no wristbands and no towel policy at the pool. Even the restaurants don't need reservations! Just come early for the more popular ones! (Japanese knife hibachi show is the only exception and needs reservations. )

Great food. Great service. Great room. Great view! Be careful of theft! People we came with got valuables stolen from their room. We always used the provided safe so we were fine.

I had my wedding here and everything through my wedding planner and actual wedding was great however we brought over $100, 000 to this resort between our guest and the wedding and when I called corporate to talk about a very serious matter we had with the employees on site nobody had the time to return my call. It’s been 2 weeks now guess they don’t care about the fact that one of the enployees almost raped a girl in our group… I thought this would be something that was taken seriously. The resort is beautiful but women be careful the men working here are not safe and all have keys and access to your rooms. A call back would have been nice to assure the man who attacked my dear friend was terminated.

I would say relaxing but this place made the best vacation possible. They had complimentary snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding. I also went on a excursion that included zip lining, mud baths, horseback riding, and a crazy water slide. Snorkeling off the beach was fun but be careful there are a ton of urchins on the rocks. There is wildlife here we encountered monkeys, iguanas, racoons and many other things. If you are looking for adventure and your spouse wants to kick back and get away this is the perfect place.

Great on the whole except that nobody talks would be a bit French.

This is a great all inclusive. The staff throughout the resort was top notch. The staff at the front desk had a little room for improvement, rooms were not together as promised, but redeemed themselves at check out. Pool areas were clean and well maintained. The water slide was fun for kids, but not supervised very well. The kids activities were great, access to the beach was very cool. Wished you could rent or buy a volleyball at the resort to play on the beach, as the daily games with Hotel staff filled up quickly. Food was good, drinks were great.

Bad experience. The so-called luxury hotel receives contingents of 300 Americans noisy and disrespectful in business meetings. Luxury also means silence and respect for guests, which is not reflected in this place.

I would NEVER go back or recommend this place to anyone. The service was horrible. The place was falling apart. I fell through the floor of the restaurant by the beach and sprained my ankle leaving me in bed for a day on my honeymoon. Lots of bugs in the suites and the shower wasn't even cleaned when we checked in. There were skunks and raccoons all over the resort so you had to bring a flashlight when walking around at night. The minute you step onto the beach, there are locals pressing you to buy stuff. The only good thing I have to say about this resort is that the food was outstanding.

Beautiful place! But it lacks a lot of preparation to some hotel staff, which obscures the experience a little.

We were taken into the resort check in and placed in the wrong line. After a slow 20 minute wait, we were told that we could not check in at that counter because we were preferred guests. We then we taken across the hall and made to wait another 10 minutes. After an uneventful check in we had to wait almost 20 minutes for a golf cart to come get us— no one apologized for the huge mix up and 1 hour check in process. We arrive to our “suite” to find two small, rock hard beds, an open concept bathroom (its a family shared room) and two fits that we did not order or need taking up all the floor space. Overall I’ve been here for three hours and have not felt like a welcomed guest never mind a preferred level guest. I would say save your money and stay home.

Came here for my honeymoon, was absolutely amazing! The staff and service was always kind and friendly to us. They made sure to make us feel special for our honeymoon with an upgrade and champagne and dessert (even though we don't drink lol). The food options were great as there were many restaurants to choose from. Great overall!

It is a wonderful hotel, the customer service is superb. The view, the cleanliness and the food are excellent. No complaints. (Coming to Sunday)

Everything and more that we could have hoped for from the hotel and staff! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here and are very polite and happy people! The views from anywhere in the hotel are fantastic! My only thing I'd recommend is the hotel rooms have some adults only areas as I didn't appreciate the kids next door waking me us at 6am. But that aside best holiday destination to date, best way I would have spent my 30th birthday.

Large and cosy Hotel, all inclusive, in the extreme north of the Costa Rican Pacific. It offers several types of restaurants within the same complex. Convenience store and multiple amenities.
Several large pools, including one for adults only.
Direct access to a very clean and very nice beach.
Very crowded in high season.
I visited it just past Hurricane Otto, it suffered no consequence.

All-inclusive Hotel, good rooms, good food, excellent place to rest, 15 minutes from the border with Nicaragua, has a beautiful beach.

Resort is beautiful. Rooms are great and everything is very secluded. The food and drinks are great! The staff is the best part though. Pura Vida!

Excellent Beach Hotel
It has three sections or Geupos Debpiscinas, toboggan, jacuzzi, massage room, ranches in the swimming pools and as well as children's pool, it has a beautiful and quiet beach with serene swell and clean beaches, service of walks and walks.
It has amphitheatre for different types of ceremonies and good restaurant with a variety of dishes and national and international meals.

Staff very attentive. Resort very clean and attractive. Everything is new and well taken care of. Drinks are great and plentiful. Preferred status is the way to go with swim out rooms and dedicated preferred lounge.

My wife and I spent our 20th Wedding Anniversary here. The Jr. Deluxe Suite was spacious and we had a phenomenal view overlooking the pool and the bay. The stuff at the resort were gracious and helpful in whatever was needed. The restaurants had great food and were politely staffed. We will definitely be coming back here again.

It is absolutely breathtaking. However my first evening was uneventful. In the evening you have to be transported because of the darkness. I called for transportation to go to dinner and they did not come. They forget all about me. They didn't come at all I called back no answer. I decided to call room service. They told me they had no dessert available. That's not acceptable. I will give them a 5 star for now. It is my second day. By the end of my trip I will give a second review. I will rate accordingly.

My daughter had her wedding at Dreams Las Mareas. It was perfect. Beautiful place. Food was great, lots to do and see. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful location with a lot of potential to be great, but their customer service was lacking. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon (May-June 2016) and we definitely had a lot more fun when we LEFT the resort for different activities (snorkeling, zip lining, etc). The restaurants on site were not great— one of them never even served us! We were seated and waited over an hour before we just got up and left because a server never came to take care of us. The pool and beach were great, the drinks were awesome and overall the stay was nice… there were just A LOT of little things that went wrong that guest services didn’t do much to fix; and after speaking to some of the other guests about their experiences at the resort, we realized that we weren’t alone. I hope to return to Costa Rica one day, but we will NOT come back to this resort.

It is very beautiful the place, beautiful pools, rich meals in short the whole way of the place is long but very beautiful the road excellent condition.

Visually stunning resort; secluded but with a great selection of excursions that offer the opportunity to see Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Extremely friendly and accomodative staff. Good food generally except I did get sick eating the fish as did many others I spoke to so stay away from that and you'll be great.

My Family loved Dreams Las Mareas in Guanacaste. The Place is Beautiful, Everyone is nice, and the food is great. There are little problems, like you would find ANYWHERE, but nothing is perfect so people should keep that in mind when they give ratings. The area has high humidity, so certain places have a humid smell, but everywhere was clean. All Inclusive means, no tips, eat anywhere all day long for free, alcoholic drinks are also free. It is also fun for kids. I recommend this place to everyone.

We loved our time spent at this place! We were there for a week and had an amazing time — lounging by the great pools, eating at the various restaurants (their buffet was very good), and joining in on some of their activities with their affiliated tour companies. There's wildlife all over the place — parakeets circling the resort, anteaters and iguanas walking around, monkeys in the surrounding area.

I found the resort just on par and sometimes below compared to other all inclusive resorts in the country, based on price and offerings. Bathrooms in pool and restaurant areas need serious maintenance work on walls and doors. Maintenance is also required in the halls outside the bedrooms because it's obvious the painting on the ceilings is falling apart. The whole time during my stay the cover of one of the human waste tanks was left opened, so the stench was pretty bad. Lastly, I found the place in general hard to move around with a stroller because there are only certain places where ramps are available. Dreams is supposed to be family orientated, but probably not for small babies because there are no baby changers anywhere. Food was OK at the main buffet. Don't try the hash browns. The quality gets a little better at the individual restaurants. As for the beach, it is not one of the best in CR, and you will have to share the beach with the locals who come sell souvenirs.

This is a beautiful, diverse and fun designed resort. It is pretty much on the beach and in the jungle. The rooms smell like mold, so if you have any type of mold allergy you will have problems. From the staff to the beach this place is all around fun! You can drink and eat as much as you want! You can also go snorkeling, jet skiing, paddle boarding, boat tours, fishing, etc! Yoga on the beach is great as long as you can tolerate ants. The staff takes great care of everyone and does a great job at ensuring safety. I highly suggest the FISH SPA TREATMENT (guppies eating the dead skin off of your feet) There is so much to do here! But also so much more to do in Costa Rica!

Great resort. The staff were super nice and helpful. Everyone from the bartenders to the waitstaff to the maintenance crew were very nice and welcoming. The pools on the resort were great! The beach area could use some work, but we enjoyed staying on the resort. We would definitely like to visit again.

It's a resort that is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. But it's beautiful. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy yourself, and the entertainment is top notch. The white faced monkeys that show up from the hills for breakfast, lunch and supper are pretty entertaining also, especially if you're not used to monkees. This is another place that I would like to return to someday.

This was one of the most outstanding resorts I ever came across. The service was amazing. Classic, over the top and sophisticated at the same time. I stayed as a preferred club member… basically VIP, with the swimout. I am telling you to just do it, it's so worth every penny. There was an event every night and everyone around you will help with anything you need, … totally returning.

One of the five star hotels in Costa Rica, the attention is very good and the people are "pure life" the food is exquisite in each one of its restaurants orientated on different types of food. The rooms are beautiful and the pools are great for sunbathing and refreshing while the staff caters for you with their best smile (even if you are on the beach side). A spectacular place.

Great resort! Private and very remote. Great gray sand beach. Great for walking but not for swimming due to sea lice outbreak the week of my visit. Pools and resort overall is best in class. Food at all restaurants is great and fresh, and staff very friendly and helpful. Would love to come back someday.

An awesome resort with friendly personnel. This is an all-inclusive with decent food and drink. There's a reasonable choice of restaurants. The highlights are the poolside with the slides, and the really nice private beach. We actually saw rays in the ocean, right by the beach, and numerous beautiful butterflies on site. The views from some of the rooms are great — we had a room with a pool view, and that was great especially at night when the lights came on. I'd look carefully at the kind of room before you book because some, including ours, had glass doors with a big curtain securing the bath and sink area. So if you're sharing the room and need privacy, this could be a concern.

This place is wonderful, although a bit of a far drive from Libiria Airport (about an 1:10 min with no traffic). The resort is clean, easy to get around in, with abundance of food choices, open bars All Day, and 24 hours room service! If you can get a room with a small private pool — you win! Much better than the hot tub which they offer on their balcony suits. Overall, we had a great time, with very minor hick-ups!
