I put a star because when you arrive I had to wait about 5 min outside in the street and when you come out to meet me, someone tells me that the do not work there but that is family and I well ok you pay I was not given a receipt or anything I that day I go out to see the city and return on the same story but this time it was worse because I had to wait 30 minutes outside. And I get to open a young man half asleep, looking angry and it was 9pm the next day to go find and look for the way out because it to enter or exit they have to open the main door facing the street and no one ever told me aca you have to to look for us or hit the door or calls here… NOTHING! so with my cell look at one of the tables with info that they have and call by phone, and just there I could tell that I was waiting for someone outside to open the gate to leave… all PESIMO AND ALSO EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE a lot more to stay in the pacific or the caribbean etc and the wrong time that pass carisimo. Malo malo malo malo malo!

This is more of a hostel than a hotel. Bathroom & shower are small and shared with everyone. The rooms have windows to the hallway where the lights don’t shut off and there’s no air conditioning. The lights also flicker the entire night. If you’re looking for a cheap place & can sleep through anything, this will do. I would not recommend staying here otherwise.

Pictures definitely make the place look nicer than it is but it's fine for a one night stay. Reviews about reception speaking English are a lie. No one speaks English.

My first hotel in Alajuela… we are very fond of it, I have beautiful memories a very nice place, clean with a great value for money.
Breakfast is plentiful served in the gem of the hotel a small tropical garden in the back with hummingbirds that turn around fantastic.

The room was very good for the price and breakfast (cereal toast and fruits) is included in the price. Nice place to spand your last night before taking your plane (it's 5min from the san jose airport and it offer free shuttle to go there).

It's a cozy place, the rooms are nice and the people are always friendly and helpful.

Perfect welcome, kindness and a smile are the image of this hotel. Double or twin room to stay for one night (arrival or departure). Well located vis-à-vis the airport. Their breakfast is excellent. Interesting stopover if you're passing through.

Beautiful, family-run hotel, very well kept, clean, staff very kind and friendly and good breakfast. The hotel is in a great location, close to the centre, the bus station and a 10 min drive from the airport.

Comfortable stay with great staff. They helped us find a vegetarian restaurant and schedule our taxi at 5am.

We had a room a little towards the inside so little noise. We found the place clean and tidy. Very nice staff (as often in Costa Rica) and breakfast are good. As it is in the Center we're close to everything, this is very significant when it is not powered. And of course the airport is at the gates of the city.

They have two locations: Hotel Pacande and Villa Pacande. Hotel Pacande is in the city of Alajuela, about 5 miles from the airport. It can be noisy during the day and early night. Recommend a room in the back, which are more like hostel rooms; rooms in the front are bigger and come with private bath, but can be noisy if your are looking to sleep. Breakfast is light and prices are extremely reasonable. Villa Pacande is outside of town, on the way to Volcan Póaz. It is extremely quiet; has spacious rooms; great service; and excellent breakfast. Great for a couple looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
