It's okay to be a hostel. They should pay a little more attention to bed linen, it's worn and wrinkled. The breakfast is a good plus that it has.

Marlin has some very good Paraguayan hamaquitas! The style is totally colonial. The breakfast very rich, the showers are c cold water but it is a good time, since the humidity is exhausting!. And the people who transit it have the best energy! Highly recommended.

I recommend this place. We found it by chance. The good mood and the cordiality with which Monica received us, They made our last day in Cartagena quiet and pleasant, after so many people harassing you to sell you things here. The place is very nice. The price is a little higher than other hostels but it is worth it, since the rooms have air. The breakfast was one of the best we had on the whole trip, if not the best. The location is perfect. The bathrooms are small and have no ventilation (at least in the room we touched) and maybe the check out is too early compared to others. They also had the best arrangement with us to store our bags and allow us to use the bathroom until the time we left. It was nice to end a trip like this.

The hostel requires a little more maintenance for your walls and furniture. Because of the humidity, the rooms have a peculiar smell. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. The location is perfect for walking and visiting the restaurants around.

The price is very good for being very close to the walled city.
I did not like that we touched a ground floor room very close to the front desk and the employees speak very loud, you hear everything and you can't rest well.
It cut the light several times and without fan in that room it is practically impossible to be with the heat of Cartagena.
It has a kitchen and dining area where you can cook and eat, which really is very nice. It has a terrace where you can wash and put to dry your clothes.
A good choice for a traveler budget.

But I understand that the aesthetic and service changes that are making demand what they charge… Full kitchen. Refrigerator. Breakfast. Very good atmosphere Laundry service to 6mil a kilo. They offer drinks and 1 block from the Mercadito and a pedestrian very well… The bad thing about Cartagena the amount of tourist agents that harass you to offer… I have a friend who offers very good tours… And very good prices and the wave that has…

Very good hostel to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. We rented a private room with air conditioning and TV, very comfortable. The only cons is that the bathroom is small if you have a large physical texture.
The common spaces are pleasant, the kitchen comfortable and well equipped, the refrigerators allow one to be able to keep things refrigerated although it is necessary to identify his own as the refrigerators are of common access.
In my case, I arrived at a time of refurbishment to the hostel and is in evidence the will to improve it by its owners, Esteban and Pablo, with whom I had the pleasure of sharing a dinner prepared by Esteban along with other travelers who stopped at the hostel, making the visit even more enjoyable and enriching.
In short, I would recommend it without a doubt.

For the price we paid (26 USD) everything was perfect. At reception they were very friendly to us. Miss Melissa is the best! I would recommend it for those who want to save and have planned not to stay long within the hotel.

Room had no ventilation, no windows, no AC just a ceiling fan that wobbled around and was tiny. Staff were not amazing and the rooms are directly adjacent to the entrance so loud. The hostels have better private rooms for less money.

The guy at the reception is a d***. The are very unfriendly and din't even allow your visitors to use the bathroom. If somebody wants to visit you and hang out in the publick area they try to charge them money…

Hotel with a very bad service… The rooms have too much humidity. In addition to pests in the beds… Lousy very lousy… Very sorry that you have booked in this hostel!

Nice personal and good rooms. The employes are really kind and help you with anything you need.

Very affordable compaired to many other hostels in cartagena. We stayed in a room without a/c but it didn't really matter. It's next to a great place to go dancing and drinking.

Affordable, clean, small, humble rooms. Optional air conditioning. A little run down, but staff is friendly. Free Wi-Fi. Ice cold beverages available downstairs. A little loud at night due to dance clubs. 15 minutes walk from most of the historic city sights.

If it's price and proximity, excellent good price. But that is not justification for a room with dust in the corners and the blankets with strange odors, wouldn't recommend it that… but by price if it is convenient.

Very good for its price, the location is excellent to walk to the main sites of interest: the tower clock, the castle of san Felipe, Convention Center, the walled city, the port where boats to rosario Islands leave etc, not all rooms have air conditioning so what's ask for it explicitly, in conclusion if you are looking for an economical place well located and friendly the hotel Marlin is a very good choice.
