Casa De Santo Domingo Vidal Hostel

Very good breakfast and coffee. Ambience is nice and price is accordingly. I would recommend for breakfast or brunch. Haven’t tasted their main courses, but looked rather nice :)||Great food (although it took a bit long). Mixed juices are amazing!||The location is perfect - in getsemani, 5min away from walled city. Breakfast is good, and they have laundry and printing service. Private room was ok - no windows and shower had only cold water, which might be a problem in colder days. I found it a bit overpriced, but the location is definitely the best.

The double suite is basically the room between the reception and the kitchen so you will be kept awake in the evening from the noise of the reception and woken in the morning with the noise of the kitchen. It felt like we were sleeping in the reception. Also the staff are very rude and intimidating. If they can take their eyes off their phones to answer your questions it will be with a glare. ||The main positives of this hostel were the location and the breakfast which was really nice and breakfast staff were really nice too.

My stay at the Santo Domingo Vidal hostel was perfect for a short trip to Cartagena.||||The hostel was clean and safe; the staff was friendly and attentive. It is quiet and peaceful enough to relax at during the mid-day heat and to sleep well at night.||||The hostel's location is perfect! It is a quick and easy walk from the hostel to the walled city as well as to the many restaurants within Getsemani / Plaza Trinidad area. The taxi rides from the Berlinstur mini-bus terminal to the hostel, and from the hostel to the airport, were only about 10 minutes long.||||I would definitely stay at this hostel again.

Actually, I felt at home, the attention of all the people of that beautiful hostel, is so warm and so good vibes! a place for others recommended!

Good choice for a short stay in Cartagena; it is located in Getsemaní, very near to the historic center and 20 minutes away from Bocagrande, the beaches area.

3 bed room only had a queen and single.

The staff here is very kind and welcoming. I stayed at the end of Oct 2017 and happened to be the only person in my 4 bed dorm for the first 2 nights. It was such a treat to have a room by myself and do as I please. Tino and everyone that works there were very helpful when I needed it and the place is spotless...extremely clean and well laid out. The hostel has a large kitchen, that again, is spotless. There is a coffee shop, ATMs nearby and it is only about a 10 min walk to the walled in part of the city. Stay here!

From the minute we walked in the door we felt very welcome by Faustino and his team. It was our first visit to South America and firstly with our terrible Spanish we were put at ease that most staff spoke great English. Faustino gave us a great run through of what to expect of Colombia and set us up with a map of Cartagena and some awesome tips in the area. His team were helpful booking buses for us, and giving us advice on places to visit and whether we were getting value. It was a great home away from home and we will return again for a night before we move further south. Beds are comfy, laundry facilities available and luggage storage for overnight trips all at a reasonable price. Neighbours in the area friendly - invited us into their home, and close to some nice eateries, Trinidad sq where you can drink a beer from a street vendor and watch free entertainment.

Not worth the money I paid. Very small, noisy room close to reception. They didn't want to change it without an additional charge. The Wi-Fi hardly worked.

Clean place, wonderful staff, backpacker location (lots of late bars & gringos). It seemed priced high for this area… but we had gone to two other locations prior and were booked… so we took what we could get.

Front desk staff leaves much to be desired especially the guy named Andres. The rooms without hot water, very small and a lot of noise in the morning, you can not rest. Careful with the nails in the doors which are rusty and leave through the door (no privacy).

Stayed there for 2 nights. Was so happy to find this hostel by accident! Love this hostel, it is a clean, charming, small boutique hostel, 4 beds in 1 dorm, breakfast included, which you can also enjoy outside looking at the colorful street! Friendly owner and staff, lovely dog! Easy to get in contact with other travellers. The location is perfect, around the corner you find the Plaza de la Trinidad where you meet up with locals and other travellers, el Bar Demente and many other nice bars/restaurants close by. Walking to the historic center takes only about 5 — 10 minutes. Totally recommendaly, would go there again and again! Congratulations!

Excellent place to stay. Perfect location near to downtown of Cartagena, I mean to traditional areas and restaurants. It is really cheaper compared to others regarding quality & facilities. However, I think that the employers of this hostel Is the best reason of staying here. I love it. Thanks a lot for your hospitality.
