I'm yesid and I love monserrete.

I recommend that you go to visit the Monserrate where you can climb with peace of mind and from up there you can observe the whole capital. It is very beautiful and for Catholics there we can pray and listen to Holy Mass. You can go on foot or by cable car and by train. I urge you to know is the ultimate.

Everything really is a spectacular visit. From a lot of history and memories
Restaurants are the ultimate with excellent attention.

My family and I enjoy climbing the stairs to enjoy the breathtaking view of Bogota. We spent about 1 hour to get to the top of the mountain by the trail. The stairs are safe. In the top, you have a Catholic church, restaurant, and souvenir shops. You can reach the top by funicular, train or climb the stairs. I recommend you to climb by the stair and get down by train or funicular.

The Cerro guardianship of Bogotá offers a spectacular view of the city, I recommend walking up, spend about 70 minutes on the ascent, which has a total distance of 2.3 km. For the descent you can use the cable car or the funicular, the Sunday or festive day costs 10.000 pesos. In Monserrate you will find traditional food for breakfast or lunch and the masses are every hour.

Magical, gorgeous, beautiful. From 3.150 meters you can see every point of Bogota. Architecture colonial with new builds doing unique the space. A place if you want to eat dinner with any special friend. You can go side by side, you finding Bogota's history.

Fantastic view of the city from here. Cannot understand the size of Bogota without this vantage point. It's cooler and seemed to rain more so a rain jacket or umbrella is a good idea. You are inside the clouds! I took the funicular. It was a holiday, so it was busy but fun: many vendors along the way. Tremendous concentration of food vending in the market Street past the church. However, those with mobility problems beware it can be a bit rough, slippery, and of course the altitude is higher.

Beautiful view of the city. To The anime I suggest you go up on foot! Careful is 2000 meters to go up! Something like 130 floors! But It goes, E worth the effort.

This place is amazing. It will leave you out of breath if you try to hone on your first day at 9k feet above sea level. I almost passed out several times on the way up and I run marathons. So be warned. Super safe… security is every 30 feet or so. Most rewarding once you reach the top.

Fantastic vantage point to see Bogota. The cable car quickly takes you up to reveal the view. There’re loads of places to eat and snack at the top including sit-in cafes. We didn’t have much time but were able to visit and go on to our flight in the afternoon.

Excellent viewpoint, point historical, religious and tourist event. You can access by cable car, funicular or walking. At the summit, with the church, parks, shops, restaurants and sale of handicrafts. It is very crowded on Sundays. Preferably go on weekdays to enjoy a visit more quiet.

It's great overview for the city of Bogota. But please don't come on the holiday! Climbing on the top of mountain was crowded but safe, climbing stairs. On the way down, the police led people to another trail on the back of mountain, with muddy and narrow tail path. We were stacked on the way down for at least 1.5 hours. Almost missed our flight in the late afternoon. Well when you at the situation, as a foreigner on your first day in Colombia and surrounded by tons of local people in the middle of mountain on very muddy slipper trail, things can be a bit scary. However, the local folks were really nice, calm and cool. My friend's bag got cut but luckily nothing was stolen. Anyway, it was quite an experience.

It Is a great place with a great view… You can go up by train, cable car or walking. In the evenings they decorate it with lights and it looks very nice. Hopefully go those who have not gone and already were well hopefully return to go…

Religious Center. A good place to visit with family, somewhat congested weekends and festive. You can see the immensity of the city from the top and enjoy a typical lunch. Recomendisimo Restaurant Casa San Isidro.

Magical Place, the view of the city of Bogota from above is great, besides listening to its roar. Don't forget to get a good coat because it's good cold. The Access If it is a little expensive but it is worth going up and admiring the beautiful scenery and the beautiful church that is there.

Excellent place to reflect, where we can enjoy a great view, we can also go with the goal of doing sports and relax or if you do not share in the family of the Mass.

The best view over the city!

Wonderful place. Take your own time and try to reach it by the stairs. Try the local food too, it's a nice experience of flavors. Spend some time in the local product stories. Definitely a must do in Bogota.

One of the places you have to go to when you visit Bogota. If you are not religious it's a great place to go to have a great sight of the city. On very clear days you can see some of the snow-capped mountains in other departments. It is quite a sight. If you are Christian of any branch the sanctuary has very good artistic designs. One of the things that is great is the altar which has the four creatures of Ezekiel representing the four gospels.

One of the main attractions of the city, for its views, covers almost the whole of the city, near the 3mil meters above sea level. As far as the eye could reach. There is a great inconvenience, it is not always free of mist, which added to the long lines that must suffer, both in the cable car and in the funicular, makes some days do not compensate. If we have the luck of a clear day, it is magnificent.

Fantastic view, take it easy and enjoy the walk and take breaks if you need to. This is definitely one of the greatest walks I ever went for. It is a long way up where you can eat or relax or shop and after just either walk back down or take the tram down — — my suggestion! Fun and an eye-opening experience. As a first-time visitor I was in a group which made it even more enjoyable. Drink water :)

Great view over Bogota. Small tip: If you go far enough and walk past the ESS and souvenir stalls to the back, a new area will be revealed — natural and a new look!

I highly recommend walking up! It is hard but so rewarding. There are lots of shops along the way so you don't need to worry too much about water & snacks. It was well worth every single one of those 1500 steps.

We took the cable cart to get up to the top, and it was quiet a journey. The view outside the window was very beautiful. You can see almost the entire city when you are on the top. Beside the nice view, you can also find a street behind the church that is full of vendors. I found a number of small souvenirs at the stores and you can bargain for some good deals. Towards the end you can find food vendors as well. One gentleman on the photo below was so friendly, I recommend you visiting his food booth!

Very nice place. Good view of Bogota. I recommend going early by the long rows that can be generated to go up.

It's a very touristy place in the city. I would say that he most important both for his location and for the experience of seeing the immensity of the city. I recommend going warm as the wind is very cold. The sunset view is beautiful I find the best time to go is at 5 pm. If the day is sunny because beautiful colors are appreciated and the arrival of the night is very beautiful. Normally there are rows to board the funicular, so you must go with time and prepared for them.

Beautiful place to meet. Ideal for a meeting with our Lord. Well worth a visit either by walking or by other means.

What a magical place. Do not take the white taxis down. Liars and thieves. The Colombians are adorable and do not miss this site. Amazing view. Wonderful place, quiet.

On top of the world. We took the cable car up and down this amazing mountain. As we headed up this 10, 000 foot high destination, it was covered with heavy clouds. By the time we were heading down, the sun came out and we were treated to a gorgeous and expansive view of Bogota below. Pace yourself a bit as the air is thinner here. There are two restaurants at the top. One is a french restaurant and the other, a more traditional Colombian oriented restaurant. We chose the latter and had a wonderful lunch there. It is a beautiful restaurant and is reasonably priced. Mount Monserrate is highly recommended as a must do when in Bogota.

If you're looking for a sky high view of the city with lush foliage and mountains around you, this is worth the visit. There's a few restaurants, a church and marketplace with alot of souvenir shops. Aside from that, there's nothing else to see. Try to schedule your visit during a time when it's not raining. As you walk around, the incline and decline could be slippery if it were wet.

From the mountain Monserrate (3.200 m altitude), which can be reached by cable car, you have an excellent view of the capital Bogota (2.600 m altitude). On the opposite hill of Cerro de Guadalupe is the white statue of Christ, which is widely visible.

On the top, there are lots of restaurants and yes the view is pretty nice but I think the most fun part of this mountain is hiking. It is not the hardest one since the path is well maintained. I saw lots of kids doing this. I didn't take the cable car so I can't say which is better but seeing the city getting smaller as you walk higher is very nice and of course you can take as much time as you want. There are some tiendas on the way if you forget water or drank it all. They have beer as well.

Incredible view of the city. Definitely a must if you’re in bogota. We took the cable car up on a Sunday and it was quite busy so expect a queue. However, prices are cheaper on a Sunday which was great and there were a ton of locals.

Beautiful view but please be aware of your surroundings. We were followed by two women who were keeping tabs on us. This is normal for this kind of tourist attraction in Bogota. Just be street smart and enjoy yourselves.

Unbelievable views of Bogota. It is a paved hike but the trail is step and there are a lot of steps. Definitely save this for a couple days into your trip because the altitude will knock you out. This was a wonderful climb and you should reward yourself with some Coca Tea or a Beer a the top.

Must do/see when in Bogotá. Can highly recommend the hike up. If you are not used to the altitude it is exhausting, but you will see people of all ages going up an down. It's well worth it. We went on a Sunday so it was busy and safe. The view from the top is great.

Beautiful place. The walk-up path is in good condition and with several shops where you can buy water or food. On Sundays a lot of people climb to the hill, you have to be careful.

Must-visit place in Bogota! You can see a gorgeous view of the entire city from the top. I highly recommend walking up (if you're able to). The path to the top was recently re-opened (Apr 2017) and it's a relatively easy walk up. It's about 3KM of walking (incl. 500m of altitude). It takes about 1 hr 15min (including a few breaks). There's a huge police presence at the base of Monserrate and all the way up at every checkpoint (every 300-500m), so there are no issues with safety. We went on a Saturday and it was quite crowded. The weekend is the safest time to walk up (especially if you're going up alone). There are plenty of vendors on the way up selling water, fresh fruit and beer (only $2, 000 COP = $1). :)

Very nice. You can see the whole city of Bogota. Its tours are beautiful landscapes surrounded by natures and sculptures of the stations of the route Cursos. A very nice church. There are food-selling places and a variety of artisan shops. A spectacular climate.

Beautiful place, rich climate and very friendly people. The small tourist agency located there has some people who provide very good information and are very friendly. Very good help for tourists from another country.

It is a very nice place, ideal to share with family or friends. If you want to do sport you can go up the pedestrian path or there is also the option of the overhead (air) or the funicular (land). There is a variety of handcrafted and gastronomic products for all tastes, the church is beautiful, the trails to go are beautiful and the viewpoint is without a doubt majestic.
You should keep in mind that Sunday is very crowded, therefore it is advisable to get up early.

This is a must-see for anybody that wants to take a look at around Bogotá as well as sea of absolutely gorgeous work of architecture and construction at the top of a mountain that glorifies our Catholic faith. Take the tram up the side of the mountain and see the Glorious surroundings. Once you get up top you got restaurants shops and of course the sanctuary where you can meditate and take a moment to take a breather. You are really high up on the mountain and you got to take it easy, you're probably sucking air through your gills. No worries, there's coffee shop some teas that will help settle down your system. If you're hungry lots of restaurants awesome food and you could easily stay half a day just glorifying in the surroundings. Aside from looking down on the city of Bogotá you actually have the other side which is all the mountain top all Greenery.

It's extremely cold. The cable car is excellent. The church is clean, tidy and protected. Excellent maintenance.

Awesome views of the city! Two ways to get here: walk or tram. If you walk — be careful of robbers. Go with a group if possible.

What a beautiful landmark. Couple pointers, don't walk up as there is a high likelihood of being mugged. Also, it is much colder up top than down below so dress accordingly. The church is beautiful, the little restaurant is a great place to hang out for a bit and the view of the city can't be beat!

Once you have climbed the ascent to 3152 meters, enough really to get used to the physically quite unaccustomed altitude, you will be rewarded with this absolutely impressive view (at least in good weather).
You can of course also take the gondola or the "rail vehicle" for a total of 19 000 pesos.
