Las Cometas Hostel Hostel

I stayed here for just over two weeks and it was such a treat. There were many volunteers which gives the hostel a fun vibe. The hostel itself has everything you need: great information about the area and what there is to do plus it’s own tours, a fun activities board, and bar/cafe with local coffee, and chill hang out spaces. It’s really close to the main plaza, right next to a church literally a minutes walk to the cutest cafe, La Comedia. What I’m trying to say is that I’d recommend the hostel for any type of stay, it’s just great.

Las Cometas is a hostel with a great homey atmosphere. It is organized, clean, and very comfortable. The town of Jerico is beautiful with such an authentic feel. The town square is filled almost daily with locals selling homemade items and fresh produce. Be sure to stop by Jerico and stay at Las Cometas, where the coffee is always hot!

Las Cometas is a colorful and welcoming hostel where as soon as you walk in you feel comfortable and relaxed. You will immediately be offered a cup of local coffee that you can enjoy sitting in a hammock by the colorful plants and fruit trees or on the balcony overlooking the street watching the locals pass by. If you’re looking for a more authentic experience on your travels I highly recommend coming to Jerico and staying here!

If you want to relax, make good friends and exchange experiences las Cometas is the perfect place to do it and enjoy the town in the meantime, the staff makes you feel at home in the first moment taking the time to share a cup of coffee with you or cooking together. The whole atmosphere, the music and the view around with the birds coming to the garden is priceless. Jericó is something else, the colored houses and people are the nicest ever!

I stayed here for about a week and had a great time. The hostal is an awesome place to base yourself out of while enjoying Jerico. The owner is a really cool guy, the kitchen is well equipped and it has an interesting location right next to ones of jericos most beautiful churches.

Cozy and colorful hostel in the heart of the beautiful town of Jericó. Besides adminstrating the hostel, the owner runs a project with local coffee farmers in the area, so you can expect delicious and organic colombian coffee served every morning.

I spent a holiday in Hostal Las Cometas that I have never had before with lots of advantures that I cannot forget. There is everthing around Jerico that a traveller can ever find such as feeling the spirit of a freedom which made our journey like a dream. There are many tiny villages that are waiting be explored around Jerico. Me and my girl friend had explored many places in the world but we never had satisfied like that before. The Colombian cuisine was amazing. The taste of the foods along with the lovely people of Jerico was unforgettable. If you really want to explore somewhere in the world where you can drink and taste the best coffee, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of nature, I would highly suggest you to go and discover the beauties that the world offers you. It was awful! I wouldn't recommend this place ever! The hall was disgusting full of dirty dishes, clothes, and towels. The bedroom didn't have a TV and it was very bad looking. We immediately came to a different hotel which was much cheaper, more comfortable, and welcoming. The worst moment was when I told Jorge, who is in charge of the place, that we wanted to leave. He got really mad.

Hostel Las Cometas sits in the shadow of the Immaculate Church in Jericó, Antioquia. Upon arrival, my girlfriend and I are were given a warm welcoming by the manager Jorge and his lovely girlfriend, Jessica. My first impression of Hostal Las Cometas was that it was remarkably beautiful and in a perfect location. The hostel is painted in Colombia’s traditional red, yellow, and blue colors. It stands out from the street and the interior is just as vibrant. In addition to the lively decoration, there are also several communal sitting areas which serve as perfect places to rest and converse with fellow travelers. Adjacent to the outdoor seating area is the most tranquil garden with a remarkable lime tree and hand carved wooden seats. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to practice some meditation or just want to lay in the grass. I was also pleasantly surprised by the coziness and comfort of the private room we stayed in. The bed was large enough for two and the shower was warm and strong. The hostel also has a dormitory room and communal bathrooms which looked equally inviting. Hostal Las Cometas is only a short walk to the town center which means everything is easily accessible but it’s also just far enough away from the action so that it’s quiet at night and in the morning allowing for a good nights sleep.
The facilities at Hostal Las Cometas were excellent but what really stood out and made my experience great was the hostel staff.

Loooove this hostel! It's colorful, has tons of nature and is filled with beautiful plants. Jorge is awesome as well, kind of a makeshift Mom :) he knows a lot about the area and has insights on things to do in this amazing city. The location is superb! It's a short walk from the center and the hostel is right next to a small store for emergency party needs :P everything felt safe and secure, and the rooms were super clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend!
