The rooms are very nice, a lot of complementary ammenities like toothbrush and toothpaste, wooden comb and sleepers, the bed is very comfortable, rooms are spacious and free Wi-Fi, no complaints so far on this hotel, very good.

The only thing going for this hotel is it’s location across the street from the lake. I don’t know any 5 Star Hotels that have deteriorating ceilings, carpet pulling up in hallways and a staff that can barely communicate. To be fair, there is always an English speaking attendant standing by the check in counter, but if she’s busy, good luck. I found one gentleman in the Chinese restaurant there at the hotel very rude. I was so put off and frustrated that I asked him to follow me to the check in desk to clear the matter up. My opinion of Hangzhou is that it is a vacation spot for Chinese residents getting away from big cities or businessmen attending a meeting. I was met with stares, scowls or indifference by 99% of the people I saw there. I did not feel welcome. Before visiting Hangzhou, I had been in Hong Kong and Shanghai, where people there acknowledge you. Hangzhou does not want tourists based on how they treat them.
