Good location, artdeco old building.

The hotel is located in a posh area with Victorian buildings around, and a nice park just 2 minutes away.

Nice rooms, pleasant staff with some English. I would recommend staying in the East building as it seemed more updated. The gym and restaurant in the West building was underwhelming.

“Totally UNCOMPASSIONATE and GREEDY and NOT UNDERSTANDING” We made a reservation for 2 rooms and 4 nights non-refundable for November 11-15 through Easy Click Travel. Unfortunately for us, my mother fell ill and required our care for at least 10 weeks. We were forced to cancel this reservation in order to attempt to get our refund. All 10 of the Chinese hotels we had made reservations were understanding and sympathetic to our unfortunate situation, and refunded our money. Easy Click Travel, acting on our behalf, called this GREEDY HOTEL and said they would waive the fees (refund our money) if we provided a doctor's letter explaining my mother's illness and need for our care. Per this hotel's request, we provided the doctor's letter to Easy Click Travel. Easy Click Travel called this MEAN GREEDY hotel twice for us. Each time Easy Click Travel talked to 3 managers and general managers. All 6 managers refused to refund the money. The last one was general manager named Ann. Basically, they don't care about you, and WE ARE TAKING YOUR MONEY BECAUSE WE WANT TO GET MORE MONEY FROM ANOTHER RESERVATION for these 2 rooms. Is this selfish or what my fellow travelers! don"t do business with this hotel! they are greedy and uncompassionate to the core!

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Some speak English. Breakfast buffet is good. The island has everything you need for a weekend trip.

This is a huge hotel and could use some renovation, but I had no problems and the location is terrific. On Shamian Island, a lovely green oasis in Guangjou yet only a 15 minute walk to the subway. My room had nice views of the river. Very good value.

Fantastic hotel… clean, comfy and good facilities. Staff were extremely helpful and nothing was an issue.

An excellent Hotel in a very safe place for a foreigner.

Our first time in Guangzhou, and was a bit concerned. Arrived to find a very well maintained building and excellent service and customer interaction. Staff was very helpful in translating and assisted in finding places for shopping. The rooms are well priced and there is a variety of western foods available. Will defenitely be staying at the hotel on our next visit!
