Hostal Dundo Ivo Spa Resort

Me and my wife stayed three days at Hostal Dundo Ivo in January 2018 and we definetly recommend! Pedro and Ruby are the best! Wonderful breakfest. Wonderful treatment. We had very nice talks and Pedro helped us with everything we needed and more. Took us on a city tour to Punta Arenas and even gave us a ride to the supermarket to buy wine. The room is very confortable, good heat and very good shower. It is was like being in a hostel but tretated by a concierge!

We stayed here at the end of November 2017. Ruby and Juan were the best hosts we had on our whole South America trip. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. We felt part of their family which was awesome Juan took us on a tour of Punta Arenas and you could tell how proud he was to have grown up in the town! It was a little expensive for a hostel compared to others we have paid for across the trip but totally worth it.

Juan Pedro and his wife were amazing hosts! The hostal is in a great location and I highly recommend anyone visiting to stay here.

I stayed at Hostal Dundo Ivo with my husband for 3 days. We had a great time there! Pedro and Ruby were very nice with us! The rooms are confortable and affordable!

The owners went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable! After a long flight, it was very pleasant arriving at the hostel and being greeted with tea and snacks. Juan Pedro and his wife are absolutely amazing and the hospitality was top notch! The hostel is rustic, but this adds a unique and “homey” experience that’s often lacking from other accommodations. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

We absolutely loved our stay with Juan Pedro and Ruby. They receive their guests as though they are old friends and it is such a delight to stay with them. The rooms were nice and tidy, the beds were good and the breakfasts are varied and delicious. The evening of our arrival Juan Pedro showed us around a little bit in Punta Arenas and that was just lovely. He is a very kind man and together with Ruby he really wants accommodate his guests in the best way possible.

Juan Pedro and Ruby are the reason to stay in this hostel. They are the true definition of hospitality and warmth. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family and felt at home. Ruby made the most delicious breakfasts (after all she's a professional chef) and Juan Pedro chatted with us on everything from world views to history of Chile. Juan Pedro also set us up with a buddy to rent a car and gave us great ideas for off the beaten path travel (down to where the road ends in South America). This was a definite highlight of our trip. We'd move in with them if we could! The rooms themselves are situated in an older home, but with character and great woodwork. The bed was comfortable, the Wi-Fi great, and the showers hot. My only recommendation would be to have a usable plug in the bedroom as we had to use the bathroom to charge all our technology. Regardless, 100% recommend this place and staying for as long as you can with these wonderful hosts.

Juan Pedro and his wife Ruby are the perfect hosts, very kind and helpful. Its not like any other hotel, its more like staying with friends at home. The rooms in the garden area are always clean, quiet and very comfortable, with a wonderful view on the roses in the garden. The breakfast is absolutely the best we had in all Chile. And Juan Pedro even helped us to get space in the trip to Isla Magdalena when we thought we wouldn't make it.
We recommend it very much.
