This motel is a little dated, but the rooms are kept very clean. Each room includes a small kitchenette, although the stove can only be used if you're a monthly guest. There is a microwave, but no toaster. Fortunately, there are coffee shops (Starbucks and Tim Hortons) nearby where you can grab breakfast. There are also a number of other restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner (The Ruby, KFC, Denny’s, etc. ) The staff were all very friendly. When we arrived, the lady at the front desk took the time to mark local attractions on a map for us. She also recommended a few restaurants downtown. This was greatly appreciated. Because the motel is quite dated, there were a few issues. The structure is wood so you can hear every movement the people above you make. We had some very noisy people staying above us which made sleep difficult sometimes. I recommend trying to get a room on the top floor or staying elsewhere if you are a light sleeper. The door to the room is also just wood and not self-closing so you have to make sure it’s closed or you’ll hear all your neighbours (who also may not have properly closed their doors). The other big problem is the parking situation. This, however, might be more the fault of the other guests than the motel itself. The parking lot is quite small and a number of spots are marked for small cars only (which nobody listens to) so the parking lot fills up very quickly.

The rooms are very large equipped with all the necessary and clean. There are several shopping options in the immediate vicinity and also some FastFood stores. Right next door there's a Starbucks for morning coffee (a 2-minute walk away).
You walk 20 — 30 minutes to the city centre. The lady at the reception gave us good sightseeing tips. All in all, a good hotel. We would come back.

The place is a good deal, clean and calm. James is welcoming and our family stay was perfect.

This is NOT a chain, but run by a kind family. The room was very large — with full kitchen. Just ask to borrow plates, etc. At the front desk. We were able to do our laundry in the evening. Nice place north of Victoria downtown. The folks at the desk called us a cab when we needed one.

The room we stayed at was a lot larger than we thought. It also came fully supplied from amenities such as soap and towels to a fridge and keurig machine. We are really happy with the service and the place exceeded our expectations. The front desk lady, assumed to be the owner, was friendly and also directed our attention to events and attractions happening that weekend. She was extremely helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

The room was very spacious with two beds. The room was also well supplied with basic necessities and the innkeeper was is very friendly.

All very clean and spacious rooms with kitchenette. As my credit card strikes, I was able to get a room after $200 DamageDeposit and cash payment. The price of CA. 105. €0 incl. Tax is fine for Victoria and the location too. Recommended!

It is a clean place and quiet. It is 5 minutes to downtown and minutes away from 3 major shopping malls. There are several nightclubs within walking distance. Although not fancy it is the central jumping off point for everything in the greater Victoria area.

The may be the cleanest motel I have ever stayed at. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Excellent value for the rate and located near many amenities. I liked to walk downtown (20 min) but there are buses that pass by every few minutes as well if you are not driving.

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience here. A simple motel that was very clean, with friendly staff, and rooms bigger than expected. Overall, we liked it a lot. The only downside would be the lack of air conditioning — we stayed in June and it was still warm in our room. If it had been any hotter, we would have looked somewhere else.

I had a room at this hotel last night. First my booking was wrong, I had booked through Trivago (so not motel's fault) and got a 1 queen room booked for me and my 2 kids. The front desk person fund me a bigger room for extra charge, I finally took it even if I thought it was very expensive for this type of motel as it was late and I was afraid not to get a room. The room had no air conditioner and it was hot out, we slept with windows opened all night so it was noisy, and worst, when I went to get ready for bed, I removed the top covers to find blood, pubic hairs, and hairs under a pillow and more blood on the top blanket. It took about 5 entire minutes for the lady at the front desk to get what I was trying to say. She finally came up and saw the filth, they changed the sheets and blanket, repeating on and on that it wasn't the cleaning lady that forgot to change the bed. She never apologized nor offer anything for the discomfort. I do not recommend this motel.

Don't ever stay here, very bad the staff will always monitor your movement and curious to know where you are going and coming back to your room. They change linen only once in 7 days! There is no air conditioning unit and summer will be very hot to stay in the room. Their elevator doesn't work most of the time. I was there for more than 8 days, the elevator work for only 3 days. My recommendation for you is to stay in other hotels or motels even if the charges are higher otherwise you would be very depressed.

I stayed at the Mayfair Motel in Victoria during the first week of June (2013). It was a great location, the rooms were huge, and the price was right. To top it off my room had a full kitchen, a small sofa, a walk-in closet, live plants, lots of windows that opened (but no air conditioning), and lots of space. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the beds were comfy. However, my favorite thing about the Mayfair Motel was the host, Sheila! She made me feel like I was a guest in her home — happy and accommodating. I would DEFINITELY stay at the Mayfair Motel again and I would recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Huge apartment sized room that had all the essentials. Mr. Ming and his sister were very helpful, kind and funny. The area is being upgraded so it might not meet everyone's criteria of lodging but it felt safe and was perfectly located for accessing the Galloping Goose trail system. Across the busy Douglas St. /Transcanada highway from the Mayfair Mall. Minutes from downtown Victoria.
