Très bel hotel, personnel acceuillant, chambre et salle de bain propres. Lors de mon prochain séjour à Shawinigan, je sais où aller!

The rooms are beautiful and decorated in a much more interesting way than what we are accustomed to. Besides, finally no carpet! Courteous and friendly staff. Clean place.

Really zero for soundproofing, I hear my neighbor's TV and people talking in the hallway. Very noisy and unpleasant.

Standard Hotel. Nice location.

Halls look like you are in a hockey arena. Nice big, well equipped gym!

Worker's room!
It's really embarrassing to pretend that this hotel is a 4 *. This is not what you have experienced in another hotel of the governors. They should remove them from the chains, it's a shame!
The rooms look like a worn-out student room that would not have been painteded for 15 years and would have been provided by a bundle of used and mismatched furniture. I had asked for a King, it was a twin. Cleanliness, it was so worn out that everything looked dirty.
I thought I was going to spend the night and change the next day. I settle down to bed and then my neighbors of rooms arrive to their room. I made an average of 2 hotels all over Quebec every week and I knew many hotels whose insulation was not at the top but it was ridiculous. I've already seen curtains that cut off the sound more. I felt like we were in the same room. I am in hotels the week for work, so I ask to sleep well and it is a minimum when I choose a 4 * hotel in theory.
I decided to leave after 45 min in order to allow me to have a good night. I explained the problem, I was charged the full room and I left. A salty bill for only 45 min. Nice catch that's for sure. Frankly, at any point comparable to an old motel for worker, do not risk it!

Friendly service, wheelchair accessible room, comfy bed. Might be noisy, especially if a hockey team is partying.

Second visit to this hotel. This time everything was good.

Beautiful site on the edge of a water body. Excellent customer service. No elevator for luggage upstairs. Poorly insulated room (noise). Accepts animals which is for me an irritant (you hear the dogs yapping at night). Decor dated. Low quality furniture. Bed is not comfortable. A Pacini restaurant is adjencent, which is a big plus.

I was in the big reception room to celebrate Christmas… the room was nice and the service fast and courteous. The dance floor is very big.

Very badly isolated. We heard the neighbors very well. Reception room for Office parties: impeccable and unparalleled service. Right next to the famous microbrewery Le trou du Diable, the Cité de l'énergie and the majestic Saint-Maurice River. Less than 25 minutes from la Mauricie National Park by car. Convenient and comfortable stay.

Site magnifique sur le bord d'un plan d'eau. Excellent service à la clientèle. Absence d'ascenseur pour monter les bagages à l'étage. Chambre mal isolée (bruit). Accepte les animaux ce qui est pour moi un irritant (on entend les chiens japer la nuit). Décor daté. Meubles de faible qualité. Lit peu confortable. Un restaurant Pacini est adjencent, ce qui est un gros plus.

Location is perfect, just near the St-Maurice. Service for the reception was good, but the room was really hot.

Good hotel. Requires some maintenance, as none of the lights work in our room. However, the reception staff were quick to fix the issue.

Nicd hotel. Beds are comfortable but we can hear the people in the next room pretty well. Alot of good restaurant and bars around the hotel. 5 min on foot of downtown area.

Clean quiet, surrounded by Nice resto. Pacini is vert Nice restaurants. Staff are great. Come with breakfast and two beer. Room need some painting, old funiture, bed very inconfortable. Air conditions is noisy.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. This was by far the worst. I understand the hotel was full but we got stuck in a room which was crappy. 1 — I don't understand the lack of closets. We were in town for a funeral and only had 3 hooks to hang stuff?!? 2 — the paint was chipping off the walls. 3 — hard bed. 4 — old lumpy pillows. 5 — the old restaurant was better than this overpriced mediocre Pacini (and I usually like Pacini). Even the breakfast was… Interesting. I would say "glad it was free" but that brings me to 6 — the price. Do you really think that offering a free beer (I don't drink beer) and a free breakfast justifies hiking the price to $140 per night for a small/bad room? 7 — the shower was filthy. Actually looked fine until you slide the door closed and find all the mold and who know what else. 8 — in the future, when renovating, you may want to consider that we are now at a point where (almost) everyone travels with at least 1 device that will need to be charged. Convenient/available plugs would have been appreciated.

Nous y sommes allé pour visiter le musée de la faune durant une journée plusieurs au camping à 3 KM de route. Vraiment bien fait. Impressionnant et captivant.

The room was fine, clean and comfortable. However, the bathroom door didn't close completely (Hello intimacy…). Service quick and efficient… when the officer was present at the reception. It took me a good 5-6 minutes returning to request cups of wine and several people lined up to other queries.

Clean and modern hotel in the heart of Shawinigan with inexpensives rates. Located very close to microbrewery "le trou du diable"

Rather nice.
Nice big room. Room was comfortable and clean.
Some minor inconveniences, however: bedside lamp not working not and a strong smell of bleach that lasted well into the evening. (Was perhaps the chlorine in the pool).
The staff was cheerful and courteous.
The negatives were not enough present to prevent me from coming back, if the case will stand.

We went there to enjoy the spa service. The massage was excellent and relaxing is the highlight of the visit with the restaurant which was fast with a good quality/price ratio. The weak point is what might be called the "spa" which are in fact only a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. When we had to buy our coupon on Groupon it was written "spa", is in fact than a centre of aesthetics and beauty and this slightly disappointed us. The pool was also sal. While the water was clear. The filter was made orange (instead of white) and there was a yellow ring on the edge of the canvas.

Overall it was good. Only issue was pool and hot tub were over chlorinated and prevented longer relax times.

The rooms smelled good. It's the first thing I noticed. Good service, comfortable bed. Very well!

The room was clean, however the bed was not very comfortable. Their restaurant was closed during my stay, so I couldn't try it.

Some rooms are much better soundproofed that others… ask your booking!

I just spend the weekend in Shawinigan hotel and I was very disappointed. The walls are cardboard and all noises disturb. The whirlpool was very dirty. The worst is still all the same package of glutton, $30 more than without the package: $ 310 for a chamber (two nights), 1 lunch for two ($20) and 1 dinner for two (main course only so about $ 60) and this by taking all of the most expensive options! The chamber was $86, 170 $pour two nights! Thieves, and even by showing our bills, he did nothing, merely given a "official" complaint form. Still, bring a Manager, apologies — you, and maybe you'd come back here, logic, a gang of cellars and marketing nonsense.

Check in is really slow and not know their service. I had a room renovate super nice but several old room.

Been there a few times, I can say that this is a hotel that I like. Comfortable accommodation, good bouff and close to everything: downtown, microbrewery hole of the devil, walk along the river. The view on the St-Maurice River is beautiful. The hotel is really at the edge of the River, opposite the city of energy that seems to be door arm.
We had a few party work at the Governor hotel. It is a perfect place for it since it is also possible to sleep on site. Staff is friendly and excellent service!
In short, I can't recommend the establishment.

Cosy and clean hostel. On the other hand, the pool is tiny. Not ideal with children.

It's worth the trip.

The hotel was well maintained. Very friendly staff. My husband and I stayed there for a week. Meals of the local restaurant, La Marmite, are very good. The hotel is in front of the St-Maurice River and offers beautiful views. In short, I would return without problem.
