Location was awful many drugged out people hanging around outside. The hotel inside is very dated and needs to be renovated. The pool was the only good thing. Bathroom and room was old and dirty. The sheets and bedding had holes in them. Breakfast was terrible only bagels, cereal, donuts. All the food for breakfast was the stuff you buy at no frills for 99 cents.

Last minute check in, guy at desk was very nice and friendly. AC in room didn’t work so had to switch rooms. Affordable accommodations, room size good but the cleanliness of the room could have been a lot better. Some smoking and non smoking rooms, free breakfast (until 10am) free Wi-Fi, indoor pool and off track betting area. The only thing besides the cleanliness is improve on is there seems to be quite a few people just “hanging around” the parking lot and outdoor areas that don’t look to be guests. I was out having a cigarette and twice a man attempted to approach me to the point I was a bit concerned for my safety then walked away as I entered my room. He wasn’t doing anything wrong but seemed to be just wandering around the property. More lighting and possibly more security measures should be addressed.

Pretty disgraceful. Definitely some false advertising going on here. Their ad is nothing like the hotel (hottub was empty, carpets + walls were putrid, elevator was nasty) those are just some examples of how appalling this place was. The staff was okay, but that was the only plus +. Bulldoze this place please.

No hot tub anymore and not well kept. Not sure if pool is back to heated. Tower rooms the best of all them.

Very dirty hallways and stairwells. Hallways were dark and creepy. There was blood on the walls of 2nd floor and right beside our door. Beds were clean but our bathroom was disgusting. The tub was missing the top layer, bottom was horribly stained and rough. Staff were nice but wouldnt give us bath towels said we had to wait for room service. Told them we had small children and they were going to nap soon and wanted to shower (NOT BATH) them, we were given pool towels. The indoor pool was okay, not the cleanest and you had to know to ask staff for towels first as none were in the room. The pool area was very chilly. Hot tub was closed with no reasoning and based off other reviews has been closed a while. The outside of the hotel is litterally falling apart. Very sketchy looking when you pulled in, not what I would expect from the name howard Johnson. Half of the hotel is actually a motel with very scary people staying there. Upon our arrival at 3pm we were met with an irate drunk guest who was cussing and yelling at the front desk. Staff handled it well and assured us we wouldnt be near her as she stayed in the motel section but it was still not a pleasant welcome especially with children in tow. I highly suggest looking elsewhere if at all possible.

Smells like a homeless shelter upon entry. Gives HO JO a horrible name. Elderly male in parking lot fell into a pothole. That's how big iy was. Ambulance patched him up and took him to hospital. Sad. Once you start renting hotel rooms weekly and monthly it becomes a shelter. Making sure this is the hotel on weber street in Kitchener. The one near fergus ave. The first thing a guest sees smells and everything is the front lobby. The lobby was in darkness. The lobby and reception smelled dingy and disgusting. The air conditioning was not on. It was about 28 degrees Celsius out and about 36 in the lobby. Sad to see this happening to some older hotels. HO JO needs to take their name off.

Would never come back… room was dirty and not cleaned… totally understand I'm a smoker and room would be a bit smelly but it was just horrible… could tell curtains haven't been clean for months they where stained and yellow… spider webs in corners and dog food on bath room floor. Just not a nice stay, when look at site, they show the main building that looks great but not the smoking rooms that outside and lay out like a motel.

Lobby smelled like cigarette smoke. Was on the first floor so my room that was marked 'non-smoking' also smelled like smoke. Room not clean at all. Walls stained, cobwebs in corners, night table had liquid stains the were recent, corners of them room look like they haven't been touch in years. Didn't want to touch anything cause it just felt dirty. Towel had strands of hair on it and also smelled like smoke. Bedsheets again, smelled like smoke.

This place was extremely run down. The halls were dark and creepy, not to mention needs major repairs. The elevator was gross, had smears all over it. The continental breakfast was stale. The carpet in the room felt very dirty and old. The pool was nice temperature but the air in the pool room was freezing so it wasnt worth it to swim. There was barely any heat in the building (the room was nice and warm though). Beds were clean. Overall a 2 is generously given for this place. Needs a MAJOR renovation done to it. It was worth maybe 50$ a night not 103$. Front desk was very nice and polite, no issues with them. Dont come here if you are looking for a nice clean place. There are much nicer MOTELS to stay at to be honest.

Rooms and hotel very old and dated. Our room fridge was broken and there was mold in bathroom. Carpets are old. Free breakfast was inadequate and they ran out of food. Hot tub was not working. Was told not working for a while. This place needs renovations. We feel this place was over priced! Location was convenient to go to Chicopee tube park and the pool was great and Staff were friendly but we would never stay here again. At least there was no bed bugs!

Sketchy neighbourhood, but room was relatively clean… and good service at the desk.

The hallway carpets are stained throughout all hallways, there was 1-2 mm of dust behind the fridge and under the table, the powerbar that I used to charge my phone was covered in black film (the powerbar was white), the faucet had a brown ring around it and the faucet itself was not cleaned, there was a condom wrapper in the garbage, and the shower liner seemed to be floating on a layer of water on the floor.

We stayed here 05/14/16 — The staff were friendly enough, however this hotel was used to house over 200 refugees for 4 months and is extremely dirty and run down. There was writing on the walls, the bedding was dirty, the carpets were filthy, the pool was closed, the bathrooms were dated and dirty, the rooms were dusty, everything smelled, and there was water damage on the roof and walls. Until they get this place cleaned up and renovated I would SKIP this hotel and stay ANYWHERE else.

It was fine. Could use a bit of sprucing up, but the staff was friendly and the bed was comfy and I can't ask for much more.

Cleaning and maintenance staff were great, a couple of the front desk staff really need more training on customer service, they should have a job Not working with people!

Wow! But in a bad way… When the fourth floor smells like a musty basement, you know you're in trouble. That's precisely the smell that accosted our noses upon exiting the elevator. The elevator carpet, resplendent with once red-hued splashes of flourish, is now a dirty smear of its former glory. Brown, grey, and smelly. The drawn graffiti and gang insignia scratch-etched into its stainless-steel walls make this elevator ride an event to remember for many years to come. The bedspread in my room, and the bedspread in my colleague's room, both had cigarette burns. I had the better room of the two as I was lucky not to have the smell of cat urine permeate the whole room. Save yourself some trouble and sleep in your car. Stayed October 2014; travelled on business.

Worst hotel experience EVER, do not stay here! We checked in at 2:30 to go to a wedding. Should have checked out immediately as there were bad signs from the beginning: smelly rooms and hallways, stains on walls and ceiling. We came back at midnight and arrived to people doing drugs outside and in the hallways. Hallways were also noisy. We decided to check out early and the guest attendant at the front could not refund our money. He called the manager but would not let us speak to her ourselves. When we asked if she was in the building he said yes and we told him we want to speak to the manager. When he called her back her phone was shut off and she was not taking any calls for the rest of the evening. What poor customer service, cannot face your own customers yourself. The guy gave us a card to try to get in touch with her at a later date. They don't seem to mind drugs in the hallways so if that's your thing then this is the place for you!

Holy Mackerel, where do I begin? Hair in tub, lumpy stained pillows, weird smell in hall and room, sofa was actually worn through on arms, blankets had crud or dirt or something stuck on it. Breakfast was apples and bananas, that was good but there were frozen waffles that we thawed out and only sugar sweetened cereal. Worst hotel experience ever. And that didn't even mention the noisy neighbours who were fighting at 3am.
