My best friend and I stayed here on 06.18.18. We got a king jacuzzi suite and it was wonderful! Super clean, huge room. The Front Desk Agent working who checked us in was fantastic and very friendly. We were both very impressed. The only thing that sucked was they had no toothpaste which I thought they would. Other than that is was a great stay and we will be using this location from now on when we are in Toronto for concerts!

Clean and comfortable room. No noise.

Disappointing. We arrived at fourteen and booking s is wrong about booking. The staff did not manage the problem we even paid more than expected. Plus the room smelled like cigarettes.

Great value to short or extended stay. 5 minutes from various restaurants and food options. Tram stop right outside so you can get into central downtown in a few minutes for a couple of dollars. Good breakfast. Not a huge selection but its filling and healthy so not gonna mark it down for that. Plenty of choice for the TV which makes a nice change. Polite staff and clean throughout. Would defiantly stay here again when in Toronto.

Room was clean and big, with an interesting location inside a shopping center. Tub was elevated a bit more than I'm used to so was a bit hard to get in and out. Breakfast was a simple continental one, nothing fancy.

Nice Hotel at 2 steps from Tram 510 and general full centre of Chinatown. Single room simple breakfast also but sufficient. Close to city Centre on foot. Many restaurants bars and fast food chains nearby tour as souvenir shops. Good value for money for the city of Toronto.

This place has got it all. Classy lobby furniture, hallway Zen garden, rooms facing an underground mall. What more could a tourist ask for?! Maybe the sights, sounds and smells of Toronto's Chinatown, what a trip! Pretty pretty pretty pretty good.

The room was overall clean but looked out on the inside of a Chinatown shopping mall. Not great not very bright. The staff is not really friendly, no hello when you go back to the hotel, nor smile. It's strange and unfortunate. Some obviously have a view on the outside and especially on the famous CN tower it must be much nicer. The hotel is not really located in the center but there is a tram if needed.

We had a room that did not give on the street but on the inside of the mall which is strange and unpleasant. Room OK otherwise. Breakfast We were able to have a check-in very early, before 13:00. Unusable Wifi in the room.

Great location near downtown. Great bars and restaurants in walking distance. Very affordable. Checked out a little late and staff had no problem taking care of us. Very relaxing experience.

Stayed at this location a couple months ago and loved the location and the price of the room. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful with the area and made excellent recommendations for whatever we were looking at. Enjoyed the knowledge and the willingness to help us out. This will be our go to spot when we stay in Toronto! Keep up the good work!

Good location, Central to downtown Toronto. Price was reasonable, room was clean and quiet. One elevator made it tricky to get in/out of the room, if you wanted to go down, your have to ride it up first. Stairs were emergency user only.

I really enjoyed staying here! It was very confusing to find from the parking garage but once I did it wasn’t too bad. I took the stairs instead of elevator because they were sketchy. We got up graded to a room with a jacuzzi without asking and that made the stay even better! It’s not too big but definitely fun to have in the room. The receptionist was a very nice man who answered all of our questions even telling us where the best chines food was! It was a great experience with it being in china town. The FREE breakfast in the morning was so good! You got to make your own waffles! The only complaint I have is the bar wouldn’t serve anything! I went to get a drink at 6 pm and the man sitting there said they were close so I walked away confused and upset. When walking by the receptionist I asked what time the bar closed and he told me 9 pm! How rude of that guy at the bar!

If your looking for luxury or a 4 star rated hotel this is not the place to visit. It's in an excellent location, fairly clean, with somewhat comfortable beds. Best of all it's reasonably priced! However, when we went the elevators in the parking lot next door were shut down and the escalators to get through the mall to the hotel were shut down as well. The only way to access the hotel is via stairs or elevator so just be aware if you are going with someone who needs accessibility accommodations. The front desk people were also not very helpful.

Hotel on the first floor of a building in the center of China town. The rooms are large, clean and well kept. Breakfast buffet But there is no great choice. Distance from the center about 20 minutes walk. Recommended.

I was impressed. Great customer service! Great room. Will definetly book there again. Its right inside the mall but it has it's own elevator and entrance so you can come and go as you please even when the mall is closed. The room was really really clean. Breakfast was also good. They deliver the national post to your bedroom door in the morning! Nice you touch. Parking is an extra 12 $ but it's underground and very safe.

Great location. Right inside an Asian mall in Chinatown. Tons of shops and restaurants in the area. 5 minutes walk to Kensington Market. Not far from the ROM or AGO. Room had one small window for light, but no view. Decor is modern. Clean. Bed had modern linens — white duvet cover, lots of pillows. Place was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast bar is included. Our room could have used more light in the odd shaped area outside the bathroom (with the fridge on the floor) — but minor gripe. I wish it had a pool or hot tub, but those are not very common in downtown Toronto. Great value for the location. I would stay here again in the future.

We had to unexpectedly come to Toronto for medical reasons and the staff were terrific at giving us assistance and advice. Quiet rooms, good price, parking and comfortable beds, what more could you want in downtown Toronto. Loved the breakfast but not the Mother Parkers coffee in the breakfast room.

My experience at the Super 8 hotel was excellent. My friends and I stayed here a year ago and we had a great experience then which brought us back again. The price is very reasonable for downtown and the rooms are very modern, clean and spacious. My friends and I got upgraded to an even larger room and the customer service was awesome. Overall fantastic experience, will definitely stay again.

We’ve stayed here several times when we had a medical appointment at the Toronto Western Hospital. We got a discounted hospital rate and received excellent service. The massage and reflexology spa is worth it. I’ve read other reviews about odours in the hallway. It’s the Chinese cooking from floors below. No odors in the rooms. Front desk recommended a Chinese restaurant, House of Gourmet on Dundas. Fresh and delicious food. We’ll stay here again for sure.

Total Scam, sales person put on my receipt some Vip service charge, while telling me it’s a data plan cost. And when I saw the receipt and told him what is that Vip service and RFID protection sleeve, he said it's $45 you agreed to pay. Koodo should be ashamed having dealers like that!

Helped traveling indie bands settle into the hotel. The rooms are fine, but the elevator to get to the lobby is really slow and the only way to get up, since the stairs only open from the inside. This would probably be fine normally, but if there is a large group with lots of luggage, it's an ordeal.

It is a good place, comfortable, safe and centric.

My stay was great! Room was beautiful and clean. Staff was super friendly especially the breakfast lady. The Spa was an added bonus. Super reasonable prices. The massages were amazing! I would definitely stay here again!

Room was modern, tastefully designed and clean. Front desk service was excellent, very friendly staff. Location was in China town walking distance to everything you would want. Beds were very comfortable, had a great night sleep. Out side of the building needs some TCL but it's in China town attached to the mall.

Was essentially stopping by in there for the restaurant, but it was a pleasant experience. Did get to talk a little bit with the front desk clerk to learn a little bit more about the rooms and rates for when I'm interested in the future to book rooms there, and he was very polite and helpful in the information he provided me.

The room was very nice and quiet. A permanent noise coming from the next room still embarrassed.

The hotel is practically new and the staff courteous. Located above the Chinese shopping center.

Location was great, and within walking distance of most things downtown. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and professional. Not the most comfortable pillow, but I forgot my own. Overall, great experience.

Located in Chinatown, very close to downtown Toronto. Parking was easy — an underground lot right beneath the hotel. I immediately dropped my keys down the sewer drain the the parking lot, but staff was very friendly and helpful instructing me on how to get them back. Big thank you to mall security and maintenance in helping get them back. The room was clean overall, and larger than we expected — although we did find it odd that there were no fitted sheets so they kept coming untucked. Typical continental breakfast, but the area was well maintained and clean.

Good value for money. About 20 min walk to Union station, pretty good breakfast (free). A lot of noise in the corridors between 3am and 6am.

After posting my original review (see below), the store contacted me via Facebook and let me return the sim card adapter package for a refund. They apologized for the issue and I've revised the star rating accordingly. Original review from January 26, 2017 (1 star) :
Do NOT buy prepaid sim here. If you're looking for a prepaid sim card, look elsewhere unless you want to pay $40! I purchased a prepaid sim card through Julie Q. I requested for the sim card and the $15 plan. She informed me that the minimum plan she can sell me was $20 which was fine. I was then charged $40 and was told that the $20 would be credited to my account. The receipt showed $20 for the sim card and $20 for a 4 PC sim card adapter package. I told her that I did not need this but she told me that it came included. I asked her to confirm that the $20 would be on the sim card and she said yes. When I tried activating the card online, there was no money on the card. Yes, Koodo gives $20 as a free bonus for new activation but I was under the assumption that I would have another $20 to put against the account. The $20 bonus is free and given to all prepaid card. So simply put, she misled me in paying $40 for this prepaid card. I tried returning to the store and explain this but I was told that there was nothing they could do unless I spoke with Julie directly which is far from convenient as she only works on the weekends.

Hotel in the center. Ideal for visiting Toronto. Spacious rooms and breakfast more than decent.

It is located in Chinatwon the room and big is quite taken care of although it starts to be a bit dated our room had a half window obscured by the air conditioner so a bit overwhelming
The breakfast space is a little small for everyone however there is a decent variety for all tastes
The Walking center is not far but still takes a little time.

We got a good deal on Expedia and the room was better than we had expected. AC worked great and the staff was friendly for the most part. Only a few complaints were that our room had terrible views, the windows were tinny and over our head and looked out onto a rooftop full of garbage, and the windows themselves did not open. As well the black out shades did not cover the span of the windows so it made sleeping in a challenge. The Wi-Fi is absolute garbage and barely works. The breakfast is not good, we rarely are there. Besides that it was a very good place. Street cars out front will take you all over the city. Great place for young people looking to explore Toronto.

Clean, transit accessible, reasonably priced, and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. My first room had a broken AC unit, they switched me to a new room no problem. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel has a surprisingly nice interior and is easy to access from the nearby Chinatown Centre. I would have liked it if there was brighter lighting in the hallways.

A very "intetesting" hotel to say the least. Definite know going in this is no fancy place. It's tucked away in Chinatown Center but when you enter this place is pretty massive. The rooms are incredibly spacious, has a sofa area, and 2 bedrooms for the suite we were guests in.

Stayed there for 4 nights during NBA All-Star weekend. Having had poor service before from a super 8, I had called ahead of time to ensure we had a decent room. Received confirmation as well as an upgrade. "Prefect", I thought… well, didn't get the room specified but they reimbursed us with free parking. The biggest complaint I have is the Syrian refugees who have been housed there. Essentially acting like the lobby was their living room. Kids running around and the overall loudness was a lot to take in. Maybe a conference room could have been used for this purpose.

Couldnt even sleep because of children running around the halls, screaming, banging! 3 gentlemen having a full on conversation outside our door and I called the front desk and you guys did nothing! No courtesy what so ever.

It was a good place to stay the night. Close to everything and cheap. Their breakfast was lacking but it severed it's purpose for a good and cheap location to spend the night.

So cozy and excellent, especially for the price. Chinatown is a great neighbourhood, and this is a surprising and affordable option right in the heart of it.

Price wasn't bad for location. Hotel was clean, and underground parking was only $10 for our stay. Our "2 queen" room had 2 double beds tho, not queens.

Cheap, super location, and huge rooms. However, some dirty things: spoiled soap, hair in bath tube, unfolded towels in bathrooms when we came in. Bathrooms are cold with cold lights and cold floor and too white. TV is not HD and theres no interactive channel menu: you ll spend 10 minutes zapping. No iron+board in the room. Breakfast is bad. Reception girl is charming though.

The room was clean and staff was really nice. To fond the hotel is a little bit of a stuggle, it is kinda hidden. Also I had a rough checkout expeirence with only 1 employee worling front desk on a weekend.

Stayed one night while family memeber was in hospital. Was within walking distance to hospital and bed was comfortable. Only issue I had was parking garage was way to dusty, room had nicks and stains and the shower had hardly any water pressure. When I looked out my window I looked into the apartments across and 4 dead pigeons trapped in a net. Nothing was done about it.

We stayed over night while I was at the hospital. The staff was very friendly and the room was great. Bed was so comfortable. Great location :).

Stayed for a week for a nearby conference (the university is conveniently located straight north on Spadina, and you can either take the 510 tram which runs every few minutes with a stop right in front of the hotel, or you can just walk). Lots of delicious restaurants nearby. Bright and active street at night, so I always felt safe walking to and from the hotel after hours. I arrived several hours early for check-in but they took great care of me with excellent unlimited free coffee, free Wi-Fi, and an expedited check-in two hours before the scheduled time. Lots of sofas and tables to lounge or work at during the day or at night. Calming fountain in the bright lobby and a nice view of the bustling street below. Extremely professional and competent staff at the front desk (I met several of them during my stay). They have friendly employees who constantly clean up and assist throughout the entire 6-10am breakfast shift so nothing runs out and everyone can get help making waffles, etc. Newspapers are delivered to every door before breakfast and the news is playing in the breakfast room. The room was large with a big bathroom and huge windows with excellent curtains. I was thrilled with the hotel, and it was a great price, especially considering the high quality of the place.

We stayed at this hotel for one night only as we found this place to be incredibly unsanitary. This place looks new on the surface (fresh paint and modern décor), but when you really take a good look there is dirt in places easily swept and LOTS of stains on the carpets. We arrived quite late to the Hotel, 11:30pm for check in and had no issues getting into the hotel and getting to our room. When we did get there, someone had puked down the hallway. We notified the front desk twice and awoke to find this vomit STILL in the hallway. I notified the front desk upon checkout and the desk attendant didn't really seem to care that much. Really shocked that this was left on the floor, no wonder there are so many stains on the rugs! Won't EVER be back.

I've stayed here several times between 2011 and now (March 2014) and will continue to stay here. The rooms are spacious and clean. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the W5 television review of all Toronto hotels and the Super 8 on Spadina was the cleanest hotel reviewed above all of the much pricier ones one would normally think are better places to stay! Again — about 6 or more months later W5 did a follow up review and the Super 8 on Spadina was still the cleanest place to stay in Toronto! People snicker when I tell them I stay here, but I love the location, love the culture and nightlife and can't help but feel great about the cleanliness reviews! Make sure you ask for an out facing room. I once was given one of the rooms that faced into the mall, but it was noisy so they moved me to another room without a fuss. Breakfast is simple, but it's free, fresh and clean. Down to earth, smart, frugal, clean and non-snooty sort of people will love this place. I will be back again and again.
