“Awful. Choose this hotel at your own risk! ”
1. Several furnitures were broken.
2. The room entrance light bulb couldn’t be turned on.
3. Wifi disconnected all the time.
4. Loud noise was coming from pipes and fan inside the room all through the night.
5. Most importantly sheets were dirty. So I knew I wouldn’t be staying for even a night there, I directly went downstairs and told the lady at the front desk to do something about these or we (me & my colleague) needed to check-out. The lady did nothing, her explanations were not clear. She bought lots of time and it was already 2 am, we had nowhere to go, so spend the night there. Slept with my clothes on. In the morning that lady’s shift was over, so another young guy was there at the front desk. He helped us a lot and we checked-out in the morning. But they have charged us for 2 nights (we stayed for the night because of their unhelpful receptionist but still charged us) which was almost 450 CAD. Quite expensive for a very unpleasant stay!

Only okay. Pretty slack with the house keeping (forgetting stuff, not that clean etc. ) Remote didn't work properly (didn't turn the TV off nor did the volume work) cold lighting and really uncomfortable bed with two hard pillows and really obviously loud aircon unit. They however, provided nice customer service, good location and Gabbys downstairs is tasty but does have loud customers until 1am. The whole place is honestly out dated and needs a do over.

This hotel is close to public transportation and attractions in Toronto. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with is there was a lack of good restaurants in the immediate area. Staff was very pleasant, helpful and knowable.

Loved it! the hotel is in a great spot, close to subway and busses. Tim Horton's is across the street. The service from the front desk clerk Sara was second to none. She was super helpful and very friendly, couldn't ask for more. I was in quite a large room and it was excellent, very clean and quiet. Appreciated the free breakfast in the morning and the in room coffee was great. Thanks again to Sara for the awesome service, she is a lot of the reason this is a 5 star review, certainly the room was not shabby either!

We stayed for one night and were upgraded to a larger room which was good overall. The room was clean and nice. This is an old building so we knew what to expect as far as unusual rooms and features. We paid for their parking nearby which is helpful if you need access to your vehicle or in/out parking.

Amazing price and great location right down town Toronto. Very clean and comfortable well come back again forsure.

People are nice and outside the building looks nice as well, but the hotel needs to be heavily refurbished. Rooms are quite uncomfortable even for a few days business trip. The breakfast is so poor.

I have stayed at this hotel several times now: Pros: Location. Prime location on fringe of downtown. 2 blocks from Subway. Bus stops outside entrance. Easy walking distance to Church Street and Yonge Street. Price. Cheapest price of any reputable hotel in the area. Front desk. Both Prakeesh and Jack were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast. Free Continental breakfast till 10:00 AM. Nothing spectacular but the price is right and it will hold you till lunch. Lobby is nice. Gabby's in the basement is a very nice restaurant/bar. Wait staff is friendly and regulars are very nice to hotel guests. Think a Canadian Cheers. Cons: Rooms are small. This is not a 4 star hotel but then it doesn't have 4 star prices either. Availability can be a problem sometimes. Try to book at least several weeks in advance.

The management of this hotel is AWFUL. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy service. I highly recommend staying elsewhere.

Love the place… owners and employees are fabulous… friendly… helpful a d they go the extra mile go make sure everything is to your liking. I would gladly stay here again… they are set ice dog friendly… (damage deposit) but that's no issue… the bar downstairs (gabbies) is worth a trip to… food is great… beer is child and the wait staff ate on the ball… all over a new positive experience with a rustic place close to downtown amenities.

Smaller & more intimate. The staff will know you by your first name. Complimentary breakfast every morning. Clean. Modern. Renovated rooms with modern bathrooms. Near Bloor and Sherbourne. Quite literally a stones throw to to downtown district and all that is Toronto.

Clean but small room. Great service. Friendly and helpful staff. Only cereal, toast and bananas available for the continental breakfast (kinda disappointed). Would return.

The coldest night of the year and I could not afford the deposit and while one member of staff tried to help me the night staff member was exceptionally rude and combative. I find that even if the area you work in might have bad people that Does not mean you should treat everyone like they have the worst intentions. For this reason alone because he was rude beyond what was needed or warranted I don't think I will stay there again.

It's fine if you are looking for cheap and funky downtown accommodation. Comfortable bed, good coffee, good shower and relatively clean. You must reserve parking and it costs $30 on top of the room. It is not for the claustrophobic, however. Our room was tiny and the bathroom not much bigger than the ones on airplanes, except for the shower which was huge. It is in a tough part of town so they demand a $100 security deposit on the room. I'll be upset if I have any trouble getting that back because there was really nothing in the room that was worth $100. The people were nice, courteous and helpful.

The hotel is in a good location. But the rooms, alas, are the same, at least the 2 we stayed in. In one of them there was a very strong cooker hood in the shower-even standing in the shower under the warm water you are freezing. There are breakfasts, but very poor: juice, tea, coffee, toast, butter-jams, muffins, cereals. If you are accustomed to a good meal in the morning-this is not for you. In the basement on the territory of the hotel there is an ATM and a pub, how good not to say-not visited. There is a supermarket across the street. If you need a night or two to sleep, you can stay. More-I do not recommend.

Pros: Comfortable bed, pretty cheap, good location 1 block from a subway station, Gabbys pub in the basement, helpful front-desk people, good Wi-Fi signal. Cons: Horrible shower pressure, only 30 TV channels on a poor TV, useless housekeeping, no air/temperature control in the room, sketchy area just south if you plan on walking around, you can hear EVERYTHING in the hallways inside and alleys outside. Overall we wouldn't stay here again. The lack of temperature control and extremely poor shower were a deal breaker. Gabbys was the best part of the hotel. You can walk downstairs and grab an insanely good burger and plenty of beers, and just walk right back upstairs.

The location is good and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

My boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel after parking 4 blocks away. We checked in and went up to our room. Once in the room I started to have a panic attack because of the room size, I felt claustrophobic. My boyfriend tried to talk me down and once I was calm we went to talk to the front desk. We explained to him that I couldn't stay in a room that small, he said he understood because it happens a lot. He showed us another room and said we could upgrade for a charge. I apologized and said I wasn't comfortable staying. My anxiety was high at that point and I just wanted to leave. He told us that was fine and he would leave a note to explain the situation to the manager for the following day. He said the manager would have to release the authorize on our credit card. The next day we called the hotel and the manager said we needed to call the company we booked with online in order for them to give the go ahead on refunding us. We called the online company and the rep was great. She called the manager while we were on hold. Several minutes later she told us the manager was not willing to refund us anything other than the security deposit. When we spoke with the manager he had us call the booking company because he was too much of a coward to let us know he wasn't refunding us. The lack of customer service and just general compassion sickens me. I'm sorry my mental health was such a problem. You're truly an ignorant person!

Small Hotel and small rooms. In fact when I stayed there it turned out to be the best quality-price combination (Toronto is expensive). I had barely room around the bed to not stumble into the suitcase. Good thing: It has a typical pub right in the courtyard and it is a pleasure to sip a beer in the high rises with the sun falling! It is also close to the Metro but stoically I decided to walk down the down-town to get to the best of the city! I did not regret this choice (my feet a little less).

BED BUGS! Stay away! We were booked into this room for one night last week, and while we weren't expecting much it was easily the worst hotel experience of my life. It was just supposed to be a cheap place to sleep overnight as we had a meeting nearby early in the morning. I don't even care that the rooms were small and a bit dirty, that was what I was expecting given the price. My issue was with the first room we were given which had a lot of obvious bed bug fecal stains on the mattress after we pulled up the fitted sheets. We told management and they didn't seem surprised or like they really cared. They moved us to another room that seemed to be bed bug free, but we both slept terribly that night. don't go here unless you want bed bugs. It's disgusting and needs to be properly dealt with. There are other options if you want a cheap downtown hotel. Seriously, just awful.

The Best pub restaurant Gabby's.

Although we were initially concerned about the location of the hotel, the city centre and entertainment District were only a short distance away by Metro. The parking of the hotel was secure and conveniently located. The staff were extremely friendly. The included breakfast included coffee, juice, milk, cereals, toast, muffins and bananas. The towels were thin and rough, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I'll probably go back to the future.

Clean and quiet. A good place to lay your head for the night. Breakfast? Not really…
Surrounding area is a bit sketchy and we're from Toronto. Can't beat the price if you need to crash downtown.

My first experience in Toronto, about 20min walk from the main shops and restaurants, not a complete let down as you get to see more of the city and it's different souvenir shops and it's culture, so easy to work way around the area not far from McDonald's which is also a plus. Also about 200 metres from the underground train which as we wasn't aware until late on in the trip is very cheap and goes to anywhere from the main downtown area to the airport which we took when leaving for around 5$ each (that's with a free shuttle bus from the train stop to the airport front door) where as a taxi when we first arrived cost us 50$ and was rush hour but the plus side of that, we got to see many different areas of Toronto we wouldn't have seen on the train. They have a basement bar in the hotel which is really snug and have many screens for different sports and the atmosphere is relaxed with some locals using it too.

The outdoor patio was nice and surprisingly set back from the traffic. Lots of wasps though. We really enjoyed the food. Their chicken tenders have a really nice light breading.

Great place that is close to the train station. Right across the street from a shoppers drug mart. Has a pub in the basement for all your nightly drinking needs. Basic rooms to fulfill ypur basic needs.

Its a basic hotel. I stayed here with my boyfriend last year too for fan expo canada. The location and price combination can't be beat. Its not the Ritz, its not even the Travel Lodge but its clean, the bed is comfortable, it has continental breakfast and a mini fridge in the room. The AC keeps the room comfortable and the staff are friendly. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and store your things this is a perfect hotel.

Not very welcoming and very small rooms with a minimalist breakfast. It's not worth the price paid.

Really nice hotel even with a basic studio style room. All equipped: oven, refrigerator, etc.

Nice lobby, breakfast served, nice terrasse open at night! Only thing: the room was comfortable but my TV had only one channel (the remote didn't work) and the washroom was dirty so I was scared to be barefoot. Not enough light in the room either…

Location was cool. Not close to anything but not far from the good areas of downtown either. Hotel looks raggedy from the outside but is actually quite beautiful inside. Elevator is very small. It was almost summer yet the heat was on quite high in the room the whole time and wouldn't turn off. I adjusted the thermostat and cranked the window a/c yet there was little relief from the heat. Probably better to visit here even its cold outside. Overall a nice hotel though. Breakfast is included.

Its nice little place for the price. And the location is great easy access to everything convenient store drug store etc. I definetly come back again.

Hotel was a little difficult to find and the parking lot is not marked. Little challenging to park, check-in, and then park in the designated parking lot. Check-in was easy and parking was a separate form to fill out. There was one elevator for the hotel that barely fit two adults and two suitcases. The elevator was neglected, but worked the entire time. The stairs were well-maintained and in good condition. The room we stayed at had a fan, but we turned down the air conditioner and the room cooled down nicely the rest of our stay. The room was just barely big enough for two adults. The bathroom was where the room felt small. If one person was in the shower, you could use the rest of the bathroom, but otherwise not. The hotel had complimentary soap, shampoo, and lotion. Overall, it was a good location with a short walk to the subway station. There is a drug store almost across the street and a grocery store a couple blocks up. Be sure to visit Downtown Kabob restaurant almost across the street as well.

The hotel is fine for the price, is a hotel well located, with Wi-Fi, clean; the rooms are for one person or for 2, with fridge and TV flat. Elevator and lobby are very vintage. At the reception are friendly and the breakfast is very basic.

Location is very accessible from the TTC and a short trip from most locations downtown. Rooms are tiny — queen size bed only fit with one side right against the wall and the bathroom door couldn't open fully as it ran into the toilet. Bed was comfortable but the white comforter had visible stains. Room was quiet with little noise from the street below and none from other guests. Upon check in there were only two towels, no soap, and no toilet paper in the room but staff were happy to quickly rectify any problems. Free Wi-Fi and breakfast.

Good place. Clean and new… staff very nice and helpful… basic breakfast but its a 2 star. So good enough for that.

Our reservation was not correct apparently… Also airconditioning did not work.

Nice hotel but small. The bed is very comfortable. No one told us we needed to get a key for parking. There was no where to park to go into the hotel to get the key for parking. The breakfast muffins were really dry.

Stupid, could've even get a room. Guess they aren't in business for the money… Doesn't make any sense but OK, bye.

Loved it here. We stayed here for a friend's bachelorette party. Hotel is clean and staff was super friendly. I would definitely go back to Isabella Hotel.

Excellent hotel nice service quite room I like it very much.

We stayed in room 601. We woke up and found that the bed had bed bugs, and there was blood on the sheets. They reimbursed our money thankfully. I would never go back. Breakfast was stale bread.

Old but very nice. And worth the money I have been here now for 2 months and zero complaints. Try it you will like. But remember it is a very old hotel with many nice upgrades. Joe room 503.

I really enjoyed my stay at the isabella. They front desk people and housekeepers were extremely friendly and helpful. (family like atmosphere) My room was clean and was tidied up for me everyday by the smiling young maid. I will defiantly stay there again.

My coffee cups would not get washed, the sheets did not cover the mattress and were a little bloody. It took forever for my room to be made (and not so well). The breakfast was so sad. Just some boring cereal still in their plastic packaging, and boring square bread.
