Excellent staff especially Cindy. Super nice, friendly, full of enegy and wonderful smile. Room is big with comfortable beds and soft pillows.

Great rates and a great place to stay.

The heater in the room would not shut off and ran all night. When we reported the problem the manager was unresponsive. We opened the window to try and cool the room down so we could sleep but it was very hot all night.

Tammy and the gentleman she was working with tonight were VERY helpful. They found me a food place to order and were so fun and easy to talk to. They should get a raise/promotion.

Total Dump! Hooker fights, the place smells like methamphetamine. Police constantly called. Filthy rooms and facility. Manager could not be more ignorant. Avoid at all cost!
I wish I could give a lower rating. Totally unsafe. Worst hotel I have ever been in and I travel for a living!

I have reposted my review today with the appropriate rating. I did not give the correct rating the first time when we stayed at the Best Western on May 12, 2018. Thanks. My sister, her daughter and spouse and myself shared a room at this hotel. The room was nice and bathroom very clean. The front desk was very friendly and offered to call us a taxi when we said we were going to a wedding. Upon our return to the hotel after midnight, I wanted a cup of tea and the person at the front desk opened the kitchen to allow us to get one. At breakfast time, we were really impressed by the selection. We would stay here again and recommend the hotel to others.

Decent for what it is. Night staff didn't seem to be trained on certain things very well. One woman on day staff is incredible though. Can't remember her name.

This hotel was just not up to par. The rooms were damp and dirty. I do believe they were "surface" clean but in dire need of a deep cleaning. The air conditioner leaked all over the carpet. Maintenance made a "show" of repairing but the room smelled of wet carpet and old shoes and air conditioner never functioned properly for the 5 days we were there. Maid service spilled a cup of coffee in my suitcase and never mentioned it. The towels were thread bare and rough and I would not use for rags for cleaning in my home. The hallways and doorways continually smelled like pot and cigarettes. The front desk and the continental breakfast attendant were very helpful.

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were clean and fresh. The customer service was great. Ravi not only brought our credit card to the room when we forgot it, but he also went outside to quiet down some kids who were being rowdy after midnight. In the morning, David offered some great advice concerning how we might spend our day. I would highly recommend!

Our second visit here. We stayed 4 nights. We had a nice clean room with a small fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable. Lots of pillows. Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast each morning with eggs, bacon or sausage and home fries.

I'm giving a 5-star review because of Cindy from front desk. One of the best customer service I have ever received at a hotel. She is incredibly helpful and will make sure her customers are enjoying their stay. The location was a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car, the hotel room was nice (they even left me a tiny welcome card! ), and self-served breakfast in the morning!

Large parking lot, friendly staff. The side entrance doors are left unlocked; they are clearly visibly Open when looking from The parking lot. Very concerning given the location and that literally anyone could walk in at any time. Non hotel guests like to loiter in the parking lot with music cranked and stare at you as you walk into the building, staff don’t seem to mind this. Over all not a bad hotel, it was clean enough and room amenities were fine, internet was fast, coffee was ok. One thing I would note is the walls are paper thin. I had the pleasure of hearing a man verbally abusing his wife for hours to the point that I called guest services and the police. If you intend to sleep, probably not the place for You.

Super location, close to 401, close to shopping, 2 minute drive to Oshawa GO/VIA Rail station. Excellent customer service at registration desk, very helpful, knowledgable about area and aspects of the services of the hotel. The rooms are very clean, well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is very good although for those with gluten or dairy issues, there are few options available. However, for me, I am quite fine with their offerings of toast and fruit and I supplement it with items from home that I can keep in the refrigerator in the hotel room. Overall, this is my go-to location when I am in Oshawa. I often stay when I have meetings and appointments in Toronto. No driving, just take the GO train. Easy!

Older hotel but rooms recently renovated. Clean and comfortable. Free breakfast. Close to the soccer fields!

Nice staff but hotel is really rundown. Bed was good and room layout was large. Gym equipment is out dated of poor quality and dirty. Had problems with HVAC.

This location was great to get to the ACC because it is walking distance to the Go Train. I needed to be on the East side of Toronto to not hit traffic in the morning and that also worked out perfectly. Beds were comfy and breakfast was huge, tons of variety.

The staff at this hotel are amazing. Courteous, helpful and cheerful at all times. The facilities are top-notch and the breakfast, included with my room fee, was impressive. I expected coffee and muffins, but this was a full breakfast with a range of options. Fantastic. I'll be staying here again.

Nice enough place to stay, had a few problems with the fridge in our room. Choosing between a working fridge that sounded like a train or sleeping was not a decision I expected I would have to make… Breakfast was very good, as was everything else. Loved how close and convenient the location was to the GO train.

Stayed downstairs due to my back condition. Hotel was clean and room was smoke free. It was late at night so I wouldn't hold it against the Staff for the lackluster approach. These things happen. Stayed one night. Rooms were fairly insulated and quiet. Would recommend for a cheap stay.

We stayed here for a family smallcation. It was very clean and up to date. The beds were super comfy. The staff were very courteous and friendly. A great place to stay with kids.

When we checked in we were greeted by two cheerful employees who were very helpful. Our room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast bar was quite good for being included in the price of the room. The employee working in the breakfast room was also very friendly and helpful. If we are in the area again, we would positively return.

Breakfast was terrific. The room was very large. Some of the staff friendly — others — not so much. I checked out a few days early and went to another hotel. Someone was smoking in their room and the smell drifted out into the common hall. The smell of smoke carried on into my room. Not at all pleasant. Some "guests" would go outside to smoke. My room was at the end of the hall and each night I was woken up numerous times with the noise of people talking and laughing outside my window. I spoke to the front desk on a number of occasions and asked them if they could look into it, there was no change so I can't be sure anything was said. Not sure how Best Western rates their hotels for the "plus" but this is definitely not it. I would say it would be an average motel — not a hotel and certainly not a plus. I have stayed in many Best Western hotels and Plus hotels. This was a disappointment.

This place is RACIST. I stayed back here in late January. They would walk into my room all times of the night (I was by myself), and when I complained they told me to leave. At 8 am. I asked what was this about and they were just like, "you gotta go". I called Best Western (because this is just a franchise) and they claim to be looking into it but I haven't heard anything back from them. I think it's time for another phone call about these abhorrent people. This place should be CLOSED DOWN ASAP.

You wanna know what made my stay AAA? EVERYTHING. But it all started with Kristi. She knew what we needed before we even said so. Like for real this lady has some mind reading skills or something. She was very quick and timely with getting rooms set up for us. Gave us kind warnings when we were being to loud in the business room. So ya. You could say she made the stay feel like home.

The hotel is reasonable but basic. The rooms are a typical size for a business oriented hotel. You can reach it by the go train but having a car is highly recommended as there are no restaraunts as part of the hotel. The breakfast offering with the room is pretty good for getting your day started.

The staff were very helpful. The room was clean and the bed & pillows comfortable. The free breakfast had many selections and the eating area was clean & tidy. I would recommend this location to anyone.

My stay was fine. Room was clean and quite large, plenty of electrical outlets. Breakfast was about what you'd expect — — not bad, but nothing special. Fitness center was small, but serviceable. The downside was that the hallways had a distinct musty odor and the back door to the building was never locked. Also, my room door didn't close on its own; I had to make sure I pulled it closed behind me. Which means that I was in doubt every time I left whether I had really locked my belongings inside. It seems like a really small thing, but I also like having a "do not disturb" sign to hang on the door… I'm from the States, maybe, is this not a common thing in Canada? Overall, no huge complaints — — just a few minor things.

Room smelled bad. It was late kids just wanted to lay down. Ceiling was an eye sore. Ants in both beds. Noisy fridge. Guys walKing in lobby with no shirt or shoes on Front desk said nothing. Overall. Never again will I stay here. Breakfast on weekend is until 10 am. At 9:08 they were telling us to hurry up? Terrible place.

Room wasn't clean. Mosquitos in the washroom. Mentioning it to the reception staff didn't help either. The place isn't worth the money. My suggestion… look further!

Staff was friendly and helpful. There were a few noisy guests early in the morning but that's no fault of the hotel. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was better than most hotels I've stayed at, though the seating area can fill up quickly. Would stay again.

Hotel is clean, bed comfortable, breakfast buffet has lots of selection. Staff are super helpful. Take time to show you how to get someplace. With the construction I found it hard to get back to my son's street, the staff showed me on a map the best way to go around the construction on Bloor & Simcoe. The guys where terrific. Thank you again for your help.

Staying at Best Western Plus for 4 nights to attend an on-site conference. Rooms and breakfast okay. The conference room is a bit on the warm side. The public washrooms (female), several toilets don't flush very well.

We stayed one night during the Lacrosse provincial championships. We were very satisfied with our room. And thankful for Cindy who helped to get a pack & play for our friends with a small child. The breakfast included was great for our little group to get us going in the morning before our game. Thanks again for all who made our stay enjoyable!

We were down there for lacrosse and business. I had a meeting and they only gave me a discount for one night and they told me thursday come friday morning and we will adjust the charges. The next day there was a new person at the counter and they refused to make the adjustment. The a/c doesn't work well and the room was very damp. Worst holiday to stay. We asked to pay cash on Sunday but proceeded to charge our credit now we need to wait 5 working days to get the credit to ouf credit card.

This was the first time staying in a BW hotel. I usually stayed in Holiday In or Hampton. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was wonderful. I loved staying here and will definitely stay here again.

I know they have done a lot of renovations to this place. The staff were nice and the beds were very comfortable. I did notice that the hallway doors did not have the push buttons (for wheelchair access) for the doors to open. This would of came in handy for bringing in the luggage and stuff to the room. Also the front entry way is a little awkward. Overall had a great night and an awesome sleep. There was lots of towels in the room and our own little coffee maker :)

The rooms are dark and are in desperate need of a repair. I awoke at 7 AM on a Saturday morning to no hot water. I travel for work and have never stayed in a hotel that had no hot water at 7 AM. Spend your money elsewhere.

Awfull, great staff and nice breakfast, but rooms are small, lack simple gadgets, found 2 spiders in my bed, rooms are filthy and bathroom is disgusting. Not recommended to anyone unless there hiring staff…

Every time I visit Oshawa for work this hotel has been home away from home. The staff are friendly and on the ball. The only down side I have notice in my last couple visits are the breakfast has been dropping in quality lately. But still a place to stay. Clean food size rooms.

This hotel was a good price and we enjoyed our stay HOWEVER the nightmare began when we arrived home in BC to find out that we were not only double but triple charged. Every time I phoned the hotel to try to resolve this issue they were very apologetic and explained the issues with their computer and then a human error that caused both extra charges. HOWEVER, the charges remained on my credit card account. I finally got one charge credited after I disputed the charges with my credit card company. The second extra charge, charged when I had already returned home to BC, they are now saying was a valid charge. Many hotels in the area offer similar pricing; I would recommend going with them to avoid the headache I am going through.

Find spider and mosquito at bath room in morning. Printer in printer room is not set up, ice machine is out of order. Door to outside of construction zone cannot be closed. Fan cannot be turn down. Either on or off with high. Not likely to come back.

I dont know where to start by far the worst Best Western iv ever been at. Apparently they won't clean your room unless you pay more then 120. Booked a room for an entire week and they refuse to clean it.

Very friendly staff. Parking lot is very well lit. Nikki at the breakfast area was EXTREMELY kind, consideration and friendly. Not that far off the 401 but I didn't hear any of the traffic at all we live a mile to the north of the 401 and I hear the traffic clearer there than here. Beds were extremely comfortable.

I was not impressed. Here are the problems we experienced during our weekend stay: — air conditioning unit was broken, would not turn on no matter what temperature was selected — baseboard heating unit was constantly on and could not be turned off, staff told us that it was controlled by an exterior thermostat that we couldn't control — our small sliding window was cracked — the fridge had been moved into the closet and rattled constantly because it was on tiled floor, so we had to move it back to the carpet ourselves — the outer door "B" leading to our wing was broken and made entrance inconvenient — room lamp was missing a light bulb — 1 of 3 mirror lightbulbs were out — sink did not drain properly, shower curtain was not properly attached to the rod — constant high-pitched whine whenever someone else in the building was using water (we assume) — most disappointing was that the cleaning staff did not properly latch our door after doing their rounds, and anyone could have entered our room and stolen our belongings while we were away for the day The only thing keeping this from being a 1-star review was the politeness and helpfulness of the staff. Our room needed major maintenance and I hope that we just caught them at a bad time, because it was not in good condition overall. We would choose a different hotel next time.

We found this hotel to be very clean, satisfactory and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was exceptional. Dina the breakfast hostess went over the top for service. Highly recommended.

I wanted to give this a high rating based on the staff's efforts to provide comfortable and safe accommodations. Dina the kitchen hostess is the sweetest person, greeting the guests and providing a fresh breakfast and coffee. She keeps everything orderly and clean so as not to allow others to leave an unappealing area. The staff at the reception area are absolutely gracious. They are welcoming and if things aren't right or to your standards they will make every effort to meet you and get it settled, no issues. The hotel is older and even undergoing renovations, the area doesn't really have a demand for luxury accommodations, but their pricing is very fair. All in all, I was willing to drive 45 mins to go somewhere else, but after seeing the staff's willingness to be so cordial and doing their very best, I felt that merited a stay for the week. For the money (60-80), this is hotel is great. Don't let the Best Western name scare you away, they've really cleaned this place up. The staff are super helpful which made my experience 5/5.

I found no difference to standard bw hotels. Was OK, but you get more for the buck at other hotel chains. Breakfast was not worth mentioning and the breakfast room was just a room without any decoration. Btw: breakfast is only served till 9 — that was a downer.

Overpriced for what you get. Peeling wallpaper and paint. Cobwebs in the ceiling corners a paint on the cutains. Got locked out of my 3 times over a 2 day visit, though quick to re-enable the passcard, it is extremely inconvenient to be running to the office each time I need access to my room. This is an establishment better served to renting rooms for an hour at a time.

Large clean rooms, friendly staff, fair price. We got a great sleep, comfortable beds and very quiet. Although we didn't have breakfast, that was included in the stay as well as parking. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
