What a wonderful place to stay, very clean lots of room. The owners were very polite and very helpful with making suggestions of places to visit, they went above and beyond.

Clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Quiet location. Very helpful when providing info on places to eat.

Had a reservation, but our Whale Watching Cruise got cancelled. The owner agreed to cancel our reservation after the deadline. Much appreciated.

Such a clean and friendly motel. Location is a beautiful stroll to the "downtown" shops and restaurants, close to golf course and a great "sit outside" area.

Such a lovely place and owners are so friendly and helpful. Their pet friendly room is just great. We loved it and so did our boys. Also the pet bowls and doggie treats were a nice touch. The grounds and accommodations are very well kept too. Also with covid and pandemic in mind they are super on top of sanitizing and keeping people social distanced which is great. So clean and comfortable. Such a fantastic place. We will be back again and again. Truly love this place.

The owners are absolute wonderful people and the rooms are spotless and accommodating. My dog (s) love it there too, they feel right at home, no nervous barking.

Room was nice, owners were very friendly, and helpful. Had supplies for us to wash our motorcycles.

I'm not surprised this motel has so many good reviews, I would give more than 5 stars if I could! In our super short visit the other night we were so thankful to have found such a cute spot in our ventures passing through. The lady (I'm sorry I forget her name! ) that helped us was so friendly! We always take our dog with us everywhere and it's so hard to find clean, well taken care of pet friendly rooms. I highly recommend this motel to anyone traveling with pets! They had even left dog treats out and pet food and water bowls to use. So cute! Thanks again for making us feel so welcomed!

Rooms were clean and the rate reasonable and that’s the reason I am giving two stars. I will say this was the worst service experience I have ever encountered. The moment I got there the woman did not say hi but the first thing she said to me was “leave the party at the party” was a terrible assumption to make of your guests before greeting them. When she was being so rude I just wanted to get out of there where she put her hand up and told me to calm down. Other family members were there and she was going into their rooms and spying on everyone which I do not know why. I absolutely can’t believe that she is in the service industry.

Very reasonable, clean and comfortable motel. Close to Tim Hortons for a quick coffee and breakfast in the morning and not too far from the downtown waterfront area.

Older motel but very well cared for by its owners. Great location, within very easy walking distance of downtown St. Andrew's by the Sea. This is a wonderful area, scenic, quiet, most enjoyable, the kind of area you visit and want to return to again and again. Great for enjoying the monstrous tidal action, as well. I find the Picket Fence a fine place to stay at a reasonable and affordable price.

Rooms were immaculate, and staff was so friendly! We stayed two nights throughout our trip. The beds were incredibly comfortable and it was the best sleep we had on our road trip out and back from the east coast! Right around the corner from Tim Hortons and the water front. Would definitely go back :)

The staff was very friendly, and the accommodations were clean and well outfitted. The motel itself in very close to town, and the harbour where the whale watching tours depart, even walking distance perhaps. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was good value.

Friendly. Helpful. Shower, bathtubs all have grab bars for those tired travellers. The manager will light a fire for you in the central grassy area. They provide the wood. Very relaxing place. Extremely clean and recent renovations. The price is right too☺️

I did not like my experience here at all. I hope the people that were there were not the owners as they did not seem to welcome the business. I felt like I was intruding on their day and they made me feel out of place. They are nosey and rude. The room was clean but the towels stunk! I would rather stay at cottage next time as this was a waste of my money!

Don't think I'd ever stay anywhere else in St Andrews. The room was great, but Vern and Sue go above and beyond to make your stay great. You would never want to meet a nicer or more accommodating couple. We stayed last year for a night on our way back from Cape Breton. When our son forgot his favorite jacket, Sue mailed it back. No questions asked. We liked St A's so much that we returned for our anniversary this year. When they found out it was our anniversary they bought us breakfast at Station on King. Also recommended. We'll be back to visit again for sure.

Very clean, pretty motel with extremely comfortable beds, room had a nice layout. Walking distance to downtown (half a mile) but not in the thick of things. Nice new fixtures in bath. Lots of fluffy towels, nice toiletries, mini-fridge. Only peculiarity is the shower takes some talent — no sidewall, just a curtain. Floor gets wet fast.

What a great place to stay. Well worth the price. Clean, comfortable and up to date. We were greeted by friendly people. We will be back.

I booked this motel for my family of four after reading reviews on this website and was not disappointed. The price is high to my mind, but I'm discovering that you don't get anything clean or decent for under $100 out east in the summer. The room was well appointed with two beds across the room and sort of kiddy-corner to each other. It was pleasantly decorated and the whole atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The manager was extremely helpful in helping us find places to eat in town — I recommend the Olde Tyme pizza parlor — the food is excellent and if anything the portions are too large! I would very happily book there again.
