Review of Holiday Inn & Suites Winnipeg Downtown, an IHG Hotel 3*

I pay around the same amount everywhere I go on this trip. But this hotel is the worst I've got. The room is so small, old and dingy. Don't let the lobby fooled you! The parking was very confusion. They told us to park next door. We went, but we went up to the covered parking (which apparently is not the hotel parking). So we have to pay to get out of the covered parking and went to the flat parking. They should have been more clear about that. Then the room's A/C didn't worked. It has no cold air. So they send someone up to fix it, but even after fixing, the air still wasn't cold enough and it's very, very noisy at night. I ordered a cot to go with the room. But the cot didn't come with any beddings, so we have to call to request the beddings. Also, since the room is so small, once we open the cot, there is no room to walk around. We requested to have a bigger room if possible, but the front desk wouldn't let us by giving us some bogus reason. (Even the guy who came fix the A/C for us, told us that there are room a little bigger that are available) So we end up sleeping in a hot room with a cot blocking our way to the washroom all night. The room also was very noisy. Around 5am, the garbage truck came to pick up the garbage. We can hear the bip bip sound, the truck dumping sound for more than 10 min. But we really didn't sleep well anyway with noisy A/C that is not giving out cold air. The restaurant was ok with the kids eat free. But there are only 2 waitress serving the bar, the restaurant and as the greeter. Very under staff! It's over price with the rate they charge compare with the service they provide. Don't go there.
